From the time I arrived everybody, there was friendly. Mayra kept me feeling comfortable and explained everything as we went through the process of my root canal retreatment. My first root canal was a breeze. Besides laying down with my mouth open there was no pain, little discomfort. Dr & Assistant shared how they were progressing during the procedure. The second root canal was a little more involved due to inflammation but still happy with the process and the result. This whole experience was amazing! I had developed severe tooth pain on a Sunday night. After a lot of hassle trying to get a last min appointment, Gulf Coast Endodontics made arrangements for me to come in at 1 PM, on a short notice. Dr. Leon was amazing! The office had called me to tell me he was running a little late and the appointment was pushed to 2 o'clock. I had taken some ibuprofen so the pain was not as bad as it was in the beginning. I came in a little earlier and they were able to take me in about half an hour before my appointment. Dr. Leon was incredible! I had a very good experience at Gulf Coast Endodontics on the Buffalo Speedway. While RVing across the country I needed to be seen for a very bad toothache that needed a root canal. They got me in right away. Unfortunately, I had to have the two-part process with a week to heal in between, so we did have a slight delay in our travels. But they did put the permanent filling in for me after the second visit so we could continue on our way without having to go home for that to be done by my own dentist After more delay. I went to Gulf Coast Endodontics for a root canal today. I found them via the provider search tool on my insurance carrier's website. I called them yesterday because I was in a tremendous amount of pain and scheduled the appointment for today. I was really thankful that I was able to see Dr. Mark Haddad on such short notice. This was my very first root canal. I was impressed with the white glove service I received at Gulf Coast Endodontics. Here's why it was top notch.... 1. Dr. Mark Haddad was fantastic. He was very approachable, gentle, calm and meticulous. I'm a baby when it comes to dental work and he was incredibly patient with me. He took the time to explain my x-rays before beginning the procedure so that I understood what was going on. He completed the root canal quickly but thoroughly. He continually checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok and that I wasn't feeling any pain. When I started to feel some pain, he didn't question me or make me feel bad (like some dentists do) and immediately injected more anesthetic. He scored huge points with me on that one! 2. Martha assisted Dr. Haddad with my root canal and she was INCREDIBLE. She was very attentive before, during and after the procedure. She offered me a blanket, set me up with headphones so I could watch TV and made sure my laughing gas was working. She listened to all my concerns and relayed them to the doctor. Most importantly, she explained EXACTLY what would be happening so that I wouldn't be surprised about anything. For example, she explained that Dr. Haddad would be using a rubber dam on my mouth and that it would clamp to my teeth but I wouldn't feel anything. She also explained that a microscope would be above my head for a little while. Again, because Martha explained everything to me, I didn't feel any anxiety. She's fantastic! 3. Rebeka made me feel very welcome. She greeted me when I walked in, answered all of my questions about my insurance quote and was organized with my paperwork. 4. Gulf Coast Endodontics strives to meet the needs of their patients down to the smallest details. For example, they have mouthwash available in their restroom. This may not sound like a big deal, but it was to me. I had just come from work and was self-conscious about my breath because I didn't have a chance to brush my teeth before the appointment. That little detail showed me that someone at Gulf Coast had thought about their patients and anticipated their needs. The Buffalo Speedway location (where I visited) has a really nicely decorated, relaxing waiting room with a variety of magazines and a TV. They have drinks in the waiting room, too. Again, a nice touch and makes patients feel comfortable. 5. Their prices were reasonable. I received estimates from 4 different endodontists and Gulf Coast was close in price to all of them. So I needed to get my first root canal ASAP. I was in pain but also nervous because I didn't know what to expect. The receptionist at the front desk was really friendly and upbeat, I immediately felt slightly less anxious. Once inside, my dental assistant was very knowledgable and gentle while taking x-rays. She was able to answer many of my questions before Dr. Matt went over my x-ray with me and satisfied more questions. The office is gorgeous and I was able to watch some shady court case on the tv above me while my root canal was being performed. Afterwards, I went back to work and experienced minimal pain and discomfort over the next few days. Dr. Leon was amazing! Had a rough last 6 months with my front tooth after deciding to get a veneer placed on a front tooth for discoloration. Found out 4 weeks after it was placed I had an abscess at the root! I was devastated I might lose the tooth after spending all that money on a veneer. Was referred to Gulf Coast for a root canal, which couldn't be done due to the state of my tooth. He recommended an apioectomy after reviewing my scans. He wouldn't have to mess with the veneer which was a huge relief. I was so nervous, but the surgery was so painless, I was shocked! He was kind, and answered all of my questions. Quick tips: What is worse than getting a root canal? Finding out your original dentist was a moron and that you need to get it done AGAIN! Biggest quick tip I can give you - for a root canal, see a specialist like the ones at Gulf Coast Endodontics. I don't know if it's more expensive, but what can be worse than going through a root canal twice because you didn't see a specialist. Dr. Mark Haddad was great. I have a severe fear of dentists (and correspondingly endodontists) and Dr. Haddad was so nice and patient with me after I got the horrible news that I needed my root canals done over. They were able to slip me in right after my consultation to get my first procedure done. In terms of the actual procedure, other than a slight discomfort as a result of the local anesthesia, almost no pain. The procedure was relatively quick, but thorough and Dr. Haddad did a great job of walking me through my X-rays. I could really see how his work compared to the hack that I went to previously. In terms of the amenities, great clean waiting room (very nicely decorated), Keurig machine and other refreshments available, they give you music to listen to while you are getting any procedures done, and they have optional laughing gas during your procedure (YES, please!), They also give you a nice little care package of chap-stick, water and other treats to take with you. I unfortunately can't remember the name of the two women who helped me during my procedure and consultation, but they were also so nice and attentive. I do not recommend Gulf Coast Endontics or Dr. Parades or Dr. Simmons. Even The receptionist blew off my concerns about pain during regular business hours and told me to look at my temporary filling using a mirror to see if it was still there. She should have told me to come in ASAP ----Instead my pain is throbbing because they messed up my root canal. When I called after hours I did not get a return call for over five hours and that was because I called three times. Dr Simmons answered finally and said he had no way of reaching Dr Parades because he was out of town and didn't have any partners phone numbers . How unprofessional!!! Dr. Paredes has caused me a huge amount of pain during My root canal. They dismissed my concerns and when The on call emergency doctor did not know Dr. Parades phone number for this emergency- I am appalled. Dr Parades should call his patient back if they are in pain and called needing help. Do not trust that they put customers first because all they care about is their weekends off where they shuffle the work responsibilities off on each other. Dr. Simmons had no way of contacting his own partner? And told me it was between me and Dr Paredes ???????? Then he said I would have to call Monday to make an appointment rather than offering to squeeze me in as an erg. Incredible experience! I have never seen such a welcoming, friendly staff in any office, dental or otherwise. From the moment I walked in, everyone in the office treated me like family. From start to finish, the experience was wonderful and relatively painless. If you need a root canal, COME HERE! No question about it. I came for my first ever root canal and can't name one bad thing about the experience. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to dental work.. I've seen dentists previously that didn't care if they put you through pain and were condescending about how my teeth led to cavities, etc. This place was the the complete opposite.. The endodontist took the time to explain every detail to me about the procedure and only focused on how they would treat the problem in a way that was pain free. I even got to see before and after X-rays so I could see the difference. I really appreciated their attention to detail and it was obvious they REALLY care about their patients. I was asked how I was doing through out the hour and a half procedure and they talked me through each step to prepare me and make sure I wasn't feeling any pain (they even gave me time updates on how much longer it would take until I was done!) There is no reason to look anywhere else for a root canal. They provided local anesthetic, nitrous oxide, headphones, and a TV on the ceiling. The environment was so relaxing I almost fell asleep once.. During a root canal!! I put this procedure off for a long time because I was terrified about getting a root canal- I thought I was going to leave the procedure crying. I asked a million people about the procedure and heard all these horror stories- I for sure thought I was going to be in this terrible, awful pain afterwards. Honestly, I am still in shock over how easy this was, and its all thanks to this office! 5 hours post procedure and I'm still not in any pain. I was able to get in for an appointment on the same day that I called. My appt was originally scheduled for 3:30, but I got a call around 2:45 that the doctor was running behind by 30 minutes, which was better for my schedule anyway. When I arrived, I was promptly greeted and asked to fill out the usual new-patient paperwork. I was presented the treatment estimate, which I had to sign prior to the procedure. Mark was the assistant and Mark Haddad was the doctor. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for this to have gone better. I fell asleep twice during the root canal, listening to my favorite music station (they give you ear phones). It took about 1 hour and I was on my way, face numb and all. Cautions: allow time for parking and opt for the laughing gas - it relaxes you and is worth the extra money. I don't want to have another root canal, but if I need one, I know where I'm going! read more

I came here and was comforted by the amazingly decorated waiting area. It's the nicest dental office I have ever been to. The fees are probably slightly higher than some other places, but you get what you pay for. The staff is friendly and efficient. So let me just start this by announcing I am one of the most difficult dental patients out there!!! I freak at the mere idea of just going to get a simple tooth cleaning.. I started getting this crazy pain on the right side of my mouth that my original dentist couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Throughout the entire process of taking x-rays and poking and prodding I'm talking the dental assistant and endodontist's heads off with my negativity on how it better not be a root canal. Well, turns out I had a really bad tooth and I needed a root canal. From that point on my nerves went through the roof and I started having a panic attack and tearing up. I must seriously give my compliments to Nena (dental assistant) for her EXCELLENT customer service and care she showed me. She took the time to explain the process and to calm me down and make sure that I was ok. And Doctor Marci was a God-given saint because the procedure didn't hurt at all!!!!! I REPEAT...did NOT hurt at all!!!! The only discomfort was the slight pinch of the needle to numb you. And I didn't even have the laughing gas working for me. Parking is NOT good...which ended up making us 10 mins late for our appt. It then took way too long in he waiting room...as currently have been waiting for 30 mins and still haven't been called back. Stressing me out since I have to go get my son from school in 45 mins and I planned all of this accordingly and already took my daughter out of school early to be here. Additionally, I even went on their website earlier today to try and print or complete paperwork online as many doctors offices are now doing...and it wasn't working. My dentist who is a great family dentist, gave me two options to handle a very tricky root canal, he admitted he could not handle. The goal was to save the tooth, if at all possible and not have to go the implant route. I was in considerable pain because he suspected that the tooth might be cracked and sitting on a nerve. I chose Gulf Coast Endodonics because they were in network and could see me first thing the next day. Part of how I make a living is to work with teams of data processors who are chosen for efficiency, accuracy and most important, a caring customer service attitude. You cannot train for this, you have to hire the right people. I am a functional analyst, so my perspective is kind of skewed to watch how people work together to complete the job. I have had a number of root canals in the past and was not looking forward to the procedure. Noise, smell, pain, yanking and grating sensations that can feel like it goes on forever and then you get to pay a lot of money for your experience. But I was motivated to move fast as the pain and fear that could lose the tooth over-rode my qualms...I have been referred to "experts" before, but these folks are the real thing. Be aware that you get what you pay for and for me, this was not a cheap procedure, but I expected that, and it really is more an issue of poor dental insurance my employer provides. My call to schedule the appointment was followed within an hour by a follow-up on to go over what the insurance would handle and my personal expenses. When I acknowledged I would handle the difference, I was offered the option of completing a digital "new patient profile to expedite my procedure. This was perfect as it saved me an hour of filling out paperwork and waiting for the business people to process. The offices are conveniently located, tastefully decorated in an obvious effort to calm the clients. Immediate eye contact as I came in the door, my file was prepped and ready, I waited a nominal amount of time to go over the expected fees. Watching the front office staff interact with each other, it is obvious these folks like where they work, which tells me that the doctors run a good show. Martha took me to the area where the procedure would take place, which is immaculate but doesn't come across as a laboratory. She went over my health concerns, allergies, and made sure she covered all my concerns or questions. She explained the procedure, got me a blanket, hooked me up with headphones to watch the overhead tv, while I waited for the numbing and gas to kick in, most important, she gave me cues to let her know if I was in discomfort during the procedure, since you can't verbalize with all that is going on in your mouth. I would hire this woman in a heart beat, she is kind to the core. Dr Mark Haddad has an excellent patient doctor approach, introduced himself, listened closely to my issues and made sure I understood that he would stop the procedure if he found that the tooth too damaged to save. I am not sure why, but the usual serious pain you get when injected into your jaw, with the painkillers didn't happen, perhaps because Martha patted my made comforting comments for distraction. Martha tested the tooth with a frozen cotton swab to make sure I wasn't feeling anything, which was a first as other dentists have been more concerned about getting to the next patient. The entire procedure took 45 minutes and with the use of a specialized microscope, Dr Haddad was able to complete the root canal and save the tooth. Precise, efficient but attentive to how I was handling the experience. I have to share that this was about as good an experience you can have considering what is happening, not free of discomfort, but they go out of their way to mitigate the problems. If you are afraid of dentists or have had bad to mediocre experiences in the past, this team is worth your consideration and the cost. read more

Long story short: great job by Dr Sara Gomez I needed emergency endodontic surgery for a surprise humongous abscess that had unknowingly been eating away at my upper mouth for years (no more bone). Had to get surgery (apicoectomy) ASAP, but to complicate things, my compromised tooth that needed surgery was holding up a 5 tooth bridge. Other words: very complicated situation that required immediate attention. I became extremely stressed couldn't find a specialist who a) told me the whole truth (first dr didn't tell me any risks or that I had another issue in mouth) and b) was willing to operate (second specialist said he wouldn't touch me because I was too complicated of a case). After I went to 3 specialists, I found Dr Sara Gomez, who was extremely professional, honest, and willing to clean up the mess. She explained my situation thoroughly, my options, my risks, and was so comforting to know that despite the prognosis being what it was, she would help make my situation better. She operated on me successfully. I would recommend her to anyone, she fixed me up, gave me confidence, and truly cared. She was so wonderful! I'm very very thankful to having found her.
