I went in for my consultation for a front tooth with an infection. Dr. Chu's reception is amazing. Oh gosh! She is so nice, made me feel better about the root canal that I'll be getting done because prior to seeing her, I was so depressed and wondered if I'll get my smile back. Will never go back, be very careful they charge over and above the insurance in-network services. They try to justify these charges with unfounded explanations. No idea if they even perform the service (outside the insurance) they are claiming. The reason you go to the in-network provider is to use the network coverage, in our case, they are just creative in creating charges not covered by insurance. Front desk services (Kelly) are very unfriendly. Be sure to sign a treatment plan indicating you authorize insurance benefits only. read more

After being traumatized with a bad root canal from a prev dentist...this Dr was able to re-do the work but at the same time...took his time to explain what he was looking for through the process and what would need to be done...at the end of the day he made my issue so much better and resolved it!!! read more

I had my root canal done here. the work is done okay no complain, but they charge things outside of insurance claims. Just ask the totAl out of pocket before you go. don't go if they don't tell you the amount. Not recommended! read more

Dr Amber Chu is fantastic! I am a general dentist and I needed to get work done. Her anesthetic shots were not painful at all, her office is super nice and modern, and her chair side manner is the best that I have seen. She explains things to the details, she is phenomenal at what she does. The root canal treatment that I had done was in the front due to a fracture need a Retreatment Root Canal and a Post/BU placed. The entire procedure was completely painless. I REFER MY PATIENTS TO HER. This was my first root canal and, trust me, root canals don't deserve their infamous reputation. Dr. Chu explained every thing she was doing and the procedure was pretty much painless. She even managed to inject the Novocain gently. I was impressed by her competence and her state-of-the-art equipment. Her office owns a 3D X-ray machine and she showed me a 3D model of my tooth. I made an appointment LAST WEEK and gave them my insurance info only to have them wait until I came in for my appointment AND filled out all the paperwork to tell me they don't take my insurance. I just moved to Houston and having tooth pain had to randomly choose a dentist. The first dentist I choose based on proximity, availabilty, insurance and sheer exhaustion was an epic fail. After one very painful and humiliating attempt by said dentist to complete a root canal, I decided to see if there was a better option available. Based on multiple reviews and insurance, I called Dr. Chu. Let me tell you, she is nothing short of amazing. I requested her services on a Monday morning 4 days after my initial root canal was started by the other dentist. She gladly accepted me and scheduled me for that afternoon. She completed the procedure that day and even saw me the next day to address a sensitivity concern I had called her about post procedure. She even arranged for her office to make me an appointment with a recommended neighboring dentist to complete the crown and build up, she actually WALKED me over there and introduced me. Dr. Chu was very kind to help me find a dentist to finish the procedure, she went well out of her way to help me and as a stranger to this town I appreciated that kind of compassion. She explained things clearly, listened to my concerns, listened to me complain about the first dentist and best of all... completed my procedure with ZERO pain. I mean ZERO, I didn't think that was possible after the previous debacle. As a "not so much" fan of the necessary evils of dentistry and pain, believe me when I say ....if you need an Entodonist you should really give her a call. She also has a staff that are on the ball...polite, bright and professional. Such a great experience for something usually so unpleasant.
