I decided to drive the 30+ minutes back to this office, and I've never looked back. Dr. Harpavat is incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and conservative in her approach. She never recommends unnecessary treatment and always takes the time to explain her recommendations. As a parent, that gives me tremendous peace of mind. I certainly don't remember feeling that way as a child, and I think that says a lot about the caring and welcoming environment she has created. As a microbiologist and scientist myself, I value evidence-based, ethical healthcare providers. I trust Dr. Harpavat completely with my children's dental care. I also can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Lankford, who has been my dentist. Years ago, I suffered an injury that fractured my front tooth and damaged several lower teeth. Eventually, the root of the crowned front tooth became infected and could not be saved. Dr. Lankford guided me through every step of the process, referred me to an outstanding oral surgeon for my implant, and later restored it with a beautiful, high-quality crown. Throughout the entire experience, he was compassionate, supportive, and always available to answer my questions. The final result looks and feels amazing, and I couldn't be happier. His skill, honesty, and attention to detail are exceptional. Both Dr. Harpavat and Dr. Lankford are dentists I trust completely. The nitrous was 1/3 of the cost of the other office I went to and my crown was extremely reasonably priced. All of my prior dentists/hygienists have had made me super conscious about my teeth and scared to the point that I would have a anxiety attack. When I first showed up at Dr. Hwang's practice, I was a ball of nerves and they were SO understanding and caring. They let me calm down, and talked softly with me throughout my X-rays. The way they gently applied the X-ray plates inside my mouth is something I have never experienced. Other dentists would shove it but Giselle took her time and guided me through it. They even explained, in detail, to me about how genetics, stress and jaw clenching can assist with the formation of plaque or cavities. That explanation made so much sense then being told "you need to do better about cleaning your plaque!! Tut, tut!" When they numbed my mouth for deep cleaning, they used a vibration technique to make the injection less painful. Fast forward to now, I receive compliments from them about how beautiful my teeth are and gorgeous my gums are doing! I have never heard things like this about my teeth before from the dentist. From following their cleaning regime and staying with their maintenance schedule, my periodontal (bleeding gums) issues completely resolved! I don't even need numbing cream to do my regular cleaning. I don't bleed anymore when brushing my teeth or while eating hard fruits like apples either. 100 percent recommend them for all your dental needs!

I have always taken good care of my teeth; I get complimented on how clean my teeth are at every dental visit. Dr. Hwang was no exception, she also told me that I had very clean teeth. I was surprised when she told me that she needed to replace all of the fillings in my mouth because they were old and needed to be replaced. My previous dentist had commented on the age of my fillings, but that dentist told me we were going to watch them, and that they did not need to be replaced right away. However, Dr. Hwang made it sound like it was urgent that I replace all the fillings in my mouth. Note that I was NOT experiencing any sensitivity or pain at that time. Her front of office person gave me a treatment plan, where they had sectioned my mouth into quadrants, and I would have one appointment per month until everything had been replaced. After the first appointment I started to develop sensitivity on the side of my mouth that she had worked on. I called her office after a month had passed and I still wasn't able to use that side of my mouth. She had me come in so she could have a look. Dr. Hwang did not listen to me when I tried to explain what was going on. She examined my mouth and insisted that her fillings were perfect and there was no way anything she had done could have caused the pain I was having. I left the exam feeling extremely upset because I hadn't been heard, and I had no solution for the pain I was living with. It has now been about six months since I last saw Dr. Hwang. I am still experiencing sensitivity and pain on that side of my mouth, but it is not as severe as it was. I will not return to see Dr. Hwang. My experience at her practice made me feel like I was nothing but a paycheck. I felt like she recommended procedures that were unnecessary, and also every time I saw her (twice) she tried to sell me on additional services.
