First off, the waiting room is crowded. You will see a ton of people waiting in the hallways. They are always behind. I came 15 minutes early for my appointment and wasn't brought to the back intill well after an hour after my appointment time. And I say brought back, not seen because they have you waiting in a queue to get X-rays that they should have already received by the referring dentist. The dentist himself was nice but the price of surgery even after dental insurance was almost $2000. I provided both my dental and medical insurance (medical can cover some parts) but they didn't bother to run it for the parts that could be covered with medical. I also didn't agree with their practice. Most practices will have a day where they just do surgeries. This practice does both surgeries and consultations the same day which is why everything is booked up. The literally oral surgeon is doing your consultation in between surgeries. I do not agree with this and feel like this is just a money making practice. I do plan to get a 2nd opinion elsewhere

I have spent weeks trying to get this corrected, calling both the local office and the company's headquarters. I have repeatedly been told that the Billing team is unavailable to speak directly with customers, which has made resolving what should be a straightforward billing issue unnecessarily difficult. Allowing inaccurate claims to remain unresolved while they prevent a patient from receiving care elsewhere is unacceptable. I am still trying to get this corrected and am extremely disappointed by the lack of urgency and accountability.

The insurance specialist informed me it would cost over $300, out of pocket. To be clear, I go to the dentist every 6 months and have my entire life. I brush twice a day and floss daily. The dentist today had no concerns about my teeth after reviewing my X-rays. No dentist (or dental hygienist) has ever recommended a deep clean before. And I was told this is "not a new problem." I declined the medium deep cleaning, the hygienist refused to do a regular cleaning and I left. The whole experience felt very scammy. And I still need to get my teeth cleaned.

Now the run down, I think it's very very important that you get full interactions with the dentists and the staff which I got just that, Dr. Lee personally called me and tried to give me a breakdown of different things that are going to be done and his recommendations which is very important to me, I am the type to ask what is the best for my child and I want at least two different options and routes I can choose from. After getting there and being greeted by Dr.Lee myself it was welcoming and he gave me the run through again with everything that's going to happen, the procedure lasts about 30 minutes. During the wait I was in the waiting room which is clean and has a modern touch to it. I've come to noticed that every employee that comes in always greets you with a Good Morning before they even clock in, which in my mind is pretty different even if you're not a morning person it makes you want to be. Not only have I never taken illegal drugs in my life, it's presumptuous , offensive & unprofessional to make such a statement without knowing anything about my medical history or current prescription meds. I never filled out a recent medical history form before this visit. Perhaps she should have read it before launching into this question within 20 seconds of our encounter. I have untreated sleep apnea which leaves me groggy during the day, especially in the afternoon. This may attribute to slowness of speech. I also have issues with enunciation & had speech therapy as a kid. The visit devolved from there. She was abrupt & dismissive. No recommendations, treatment plan given. After I recently complained of pain and after x-rays, my dentist referred me to Dr. Orfanos. The appointment was easy to make. I saw the doctor without any wait time. He recommended an extraction and then gave me time to ask as many questions as I needed. I left the office feeling like I was in good hands. He shares the office with two other professionals. The office is very professional and designed to move things along smoothly without frustration. There was always someone to answer the phone and provide information. The charges were broken down and provided in writing before the procedure. The day of the procedure, I arrived early but had to wait longer than what I had been told (not that much longer) because of an emergency. Even that was explained to me. The assistant who took me to the surgical room, was very personable, reassuring, and warm which is always important when having an invasive procedure. The tech who took the scan before the procedure and the anesthesiologist were more on task and seemed to know their craft which was reassuring in its own way. Overall, it seems that the office spends time and money on training their staff. Interestingly, the competence on the front end gave me confidence on the back end (the actual procedure). The pre and post op were explained in detail many times and I was also given written instructions. They require a support person to drive you there and back home and they were also given instructions. It makes sense to be repetitive to make sure the information is communicated especially when there is some stress involved in dealing with medical procedures.
