This man set me back so far. Sadly went to him for implants and left with a partial that has caused damage. I'm now in the process of getting implants for a personal fix which is what I asked Dr. Naftis to provide. He assumed that my finances would not be able to afford implants but he was wrong. I do not want anyone, and I mean anyone to deal with what I have so please avoid him for major services. Even his cleanings are minimum compared to a office like NU Dentistry. Let's be honest... no one is excited to go to the dentist. Even though you usually get a new toothbrush, floss & maybe a sticker if you are really good, it doesn't lower most people's anxiety over the appointment. I've been in twice now for a problem tooth that Dr. Naftis examined & X-rayed & diagnosed my issue. Sadly it required a root canal and we had hoped just a crown. But sadly... it will now need an implant as the damage was more substantial than we hoped. But Dr. Naftis referred me to a great specialist for both & will be doing my actual crown work when the time comes. He is very up front & honest & you automatically feel at ease as you can tell his number one priority is his patients. I recently switched to Dr Naftis after a year and a half at a clinic down the road and I am so glad I did!!!! He's honest, straight forward with no up-selling and provides a personal touch that the clinics and larger practices simply cannot or will not provide. His office is very inviting and his staff are friendly and attentive, with a touch of southern charm. Dr Naftis personally did my cleaning and that was a huge plus. Dr. Naftis and his team are always willing to squeeze me in for an appointment that fits in with my schedule. They are usually very cordial. Recently I was treated abscessed tooth. This was my first experience with this condition, so I was feeling quite traumatized. After being referred to an endodontist, it was determined that my tooth could not be saved and needed to be extracted. Dr. Naftis did a great job of quickly extracting my tooth. Since I am not familiar with the healing process, I contacted Dr. Naftis' office 1 week later and inquired with his receptionist about whether I should schedule a follow-up appointment for a tooth replacement. One would think this would be the next step after such a procedure. The receptionist (who normally is very helpful) responded as if I was asking the world of her and gave the impression that I should know what to do. I know we all have bad days, but I'm not a medical/dental professional and have not undergone this procedure before. I think it would have been proactive for the team to have explained the next steps for follow-up after I had the extraction procedure instead of me having to call back on what I need to do next. read more

I love going to see Dr. Naftis. I was so afraid, BUT I know God led me to him because for years I dreaded seeing a dentist which of course has caused me to be in the predicament I have been in over the last 12 months and time was running thin for my teeth situation. Last year I went to a place that really messed my already bad teeth up which caused an abscess to develop. Well I couldn't get time off from work until the summer. It took me almost six months or more to get the work I needed to get rid of that abscess that had now doubled....Dr. Naftis took care of me and consulted with me on the next steps and for that I say THANK YOU!!! I love Dr. Naftis he's always warm and funny, which is a good thing for those who are often afraid of dentist. I on the other hand have no fear of dentist and I am very serious about my dental health, so when I go to him for my routine cleanings I feel like my health is being revitalized. However, I am not a fan of his staff, the last time I went the office assistant forgot how much my cleaning was going to cost, and didn't inform me until after my cleaning was done that there was a difference in the price. Today, I went for a cleaning and was unable to get it, and I am not very happy about that being that my time is valuable to me. My insurance information had changed and when I gave it to the young man a few days ago he neglected to call and do the verification until today. My appointment was at 10 a.m. which is during the peak time for insurance companies. So instead of waiting on the phone to get the verification, he brought me the office phone and I had to wait on the phone for 30 minutes to gets the verification!! That is the most unprofessional thing ever! I eventually ended up rescheduling because I didn't have the allotted time in my day to verify my insurance so I could get a cleaning, something that should of been done before my arrival. read more

He never recommends unnecessary procedures--I assure you there are very few dentists you can say that about. His staff is friendly and accommodating. I have been going to this dentist for many years. In 2019 he suggested I have a wisdom tooth pulled so he could fill a cavity in the tooth next to it. An oral surgeon pulled the tooth and I returned to this dentist's office to have the cavity filled. Apparently confused, he worked on the wrong tooth, nearly destroying a tooth that previously had no problems. It took a while, but even when I returned in about an hour, he was still confused, insisting that he had worked on the correct tooth. I had to point out in his xrays what he had done and he finally admitted the error. I reported the problem to the Texas Dental Board which investigated, censured him and levied a fine. I've since had to have the tooth he worked on by mistake pulled by an oral surgeon and am preparing for an implant and crown. Does this sound like an experience you want to have? read more

Professional, prompt and quick! Finding a good dentist is similar to finding a good mechanic. Once you have found one you feel like you're set. Previous dentists I have used led me to believe the entire profession was based upon overbooking and dragging out the visits with needless things like having a hygienist floss and brush your teeth, something that is completely ridiculous if you do that daily. You don't get that with Dr. Naftis. I tend to arrive 10 minutes early and every time they take me right away! The office is comfortable, new, everything is set up well. And Dr. Naftis does the cleanings himself, and I'm always out of there in 20 minutes! Awesome! The staff and he do all the required work (x-rays, the cleanings, examining the dental health, etc) but Dr. Naftis has this rare gift of combining professional competency with smart business practices, and that is why my visits are brief and while not "fun" per say they're not hateful, which I never said about a dentist visit until now. If I ever leave Houston, my regret will be that I will have to find a new dentist and I seriously doubt I will find another shop as squared away as Dr. Naftis. Go to him! read more

Dr Naftis is a competent dentist and runs a very welcoming office. My experience was painless and quick. The only issue I had with my one visit here is that he doesn't have a dental hygienist on staff. He does the cleanings himself and they're very fast (and not as thorough as a dental hygienist might do). Still, they accept DMO insurance and for that type of insurance, he's a great choice. read more

I'm not sure how he is getting all of these great reviews but I did see others criticizing the cleanings you get in his office. My husband went there for a cleaning and he said the dentist hardly even touched his teeth. Spent only a couple of minutes looking at his teeth and that was it. We won't be going back. No, you don't really need them to brush and floss your teeth for you but how about a thorough cleaning, like checking for plaque, removing any, polishing...do something! We tried him because of the good reviews and the fact that he is on our insurance but we are going back to Dr. Baker's office from now on. You will get a thorough cleaning there and I don't know if anyone will ever top Dr. Buehler, but we will give him a chance. And now, he has been added to our insurance, so even better. Even if I had to pay 100% out of pocket for the cleaning, you get what you pay for there. read more

I'm a dental assistant student and am aware of the fact that a HYGIENIST is supposed to clean teeth. I think many people think its ok for dentist to clean teeth. After I went to this office I decided I wouldn't go back since I went to a hygienist friend at a another dental office and got my teeth cleaned and she did a thorough cleaning and found calculus under the gum. I got a 10 min cleaning at Mr. Naftis office when it takes a little longer than that to clean teeth. If your insurance is paying a portion you want to make sure your getting what you pay for. There isn't a hygienist employed at this office. At school I have learned this is what they call the "Hollywood smile". I'm sure numerous dentists feel that they can cut costs this way, which will only be detrimental to you. read more

I don't have dental insurance but I opted to go anyway when I saw an ad for an x-ray & cleaning special, priced at $70. I found his care to be professional, nonjudgmental and super-efficient. I was in and out in a half-hour. His staff is also very friendly and easygoing. And it's right next to a Kroger so you can even squeeze in some grocery shopping after. read more
