I have been a patient of Dr. Chen for over 12 years, and I can confidently say that she and her wonderful staff have made a significant impact on my dental health and overall experience. Despite my rigorous dental regimen, I still encounter dental issues, but having Dr. Chen by my side has made all the difference. Expertise and Care Dr. Chen is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. She stays current on the latest treatments and technologies, which gives me confidence in the care I receive. One of the things I appreciate most is her willingness to take the time to answer all my questions--something I tend to have a lot of! She addresses my concerns with patience and makes me feel at ease, which is invaluable in a dental setting. Recent Experience I "visit" Dr. Chen at least 3-4x a year. My most recent procedure involved replacing my four front crowns (20 years old) which I had been wanting to do for years. The trauma from the pain associated with the anesthesia from the original dentist had left me hesitant. However, I finally decided to go through with it in May 2025. On the day of the procedure, I was understandably nervous and anxious. But with sweet Luca, their therapy dog, on my lap, I felt a sense of comfort. Carol, Dr. Chen's assistant, held my hand throughout the process, and to my surprise, it was over before I knew it! I felt zero pain--not even a prick. A few visits later, after a trip to the lab, I received my new crowns, and they are absolutely beautiful. I can't believe I waited so long to make this change, and I've received countless compliments on them. Dr. Chen and Carol even showed up on a Friday when they were not in the office to ensure I get my permanent crowns before I left for my trip. Exceptional Staff The entire staff at Dr. Chen's office, including Monica, Diane, Maliah (my dental hygienist), and Monee, are wonderful additions to her team. They are not only professional but also incredibly pleasant, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Every time I walk in, I do so with full confidence that I will be well taken care of. The requested masks to be worn till cleaning and xrays were appreciated. Temp checks were even taken prior to entry into back of clinic.Air filters were in the room and they had the most comfortable chairs ever, which helps when there for a long visit. The 3D animation was incredible and I had never had such a thorough examination / explanation of my teeth .Thank you, Maliha, for going through everything with me.She needed a 10 on a 5 scale for her understanding nature . I just switched to Dr. Chen's office because I was unhappy with my last dentist and I loved it! The dental hygienist were extremely nice and walked me through everything they were doing and paid close attention to the things I said I wanted to learn more about. They were very quick and efficient and I didn't have to wait in the chair for Dr. Chen to come, she came almost immediately. She also looked at things in my mouth/my teeth that I haven't had other dentist look at. For example, she checked to see if I had signs of sleep apnea based on my tongue. One of the most important things that made me switch dentist was I felt like my last dentist was always trying to get me to pay for certain procedures that weren't necessary. I even got second opinions because I didn't trust my last dentist. However, with Dr. Chen they gave me things to be cautious about but didn't push that I NEEDED to get it worked on at my first appointment. My first visit with Dr.Chen went very well. For new patients the initial visit is 1.5 hours, so be prepared for a longer first-time meeting with x-rays, teeth/gum examination, and a cleaning. I didn't realize when I made the appointment that it would be that long, so if you have time constraints plan accordingly. Brad was the dental hygienists I saw and he was very friendly and professional. Really did a great job making me feel welcome and relaxed- I don't suffer from any dental anxiety, but I would imagine that he would be a great hygienist to have if you do. His calm and knowledgable manner made me feel like I was in good hands, and he was very gentle during the exam and cleaning. Dr.Chen was also very friendly, and explained the x-Ray results and examined my teeth to make sure everything was a-ok. I am a dentist myself (Endodontist). Dentists are the worst patients one can get. Because I know every details so it is very hard for me to trust any dentist to do dental work on me. (Resulted in no cleaning for 4 years and 5 cavities lol). After moving to Houston, I started to have the chance to work with Dr. Chen professionally. Over the past two years, I could see the dental works that have been done on Dr. Chen's patients. It is strictly by the book and the inputs I heard from her patients are all excellent. Clinical communication between me and Dr. Chen shows how much she cares about her patients. She would text me when she is off during the week or even on weekends about the patients she sends to me. Dr. Chen gained my trust. I have been to her practice twice so far. The first time was for initial check-up and the second is for 4 cavities fillings. The following are the reasons why they got 5 stars. 1. They seat patients on time. No/minimal wait time: This is extremely difficult while running a dental visit. It needs not just the doctor but also the staff's coordination to achieve this. For people that have tight schedule like myself this is a big plus. 2. Office space is extremely clean and up-to-date: Dentists tend to get used to the technique and material he or she is used to. However, as the technology advances each day the doctor must adapt to it to provide the best treatment. Dr. Chen has some latest equipments. She knows the materials well and practices it. 3. Minimal-no pain injection technique: Got two upper buccal infiltration shots today. Didnt feel a thing because she seperated the entire numbing process into 3 steps. First to numb the gum with gel then use Gate-Theory technique for initial injection followed by full injection. I hate needles! (yes I am a dentist but I hate needles!) but I was totally fine! 4. She takes her time: No rushing the treatment. Good dentistry work takes time. I have been referring all my best friends and colleagues to her. I highly recommend her as you family dentist. read more

I have a family member who is a specialist dentist. The curse of having a doctor/doctors in the family is they trust no one. I personally had very poor experience with dentists myself as well. But I love Dr.Chen! She's friendly, straight to the point, and detail oriented! I've never had a doctor check for my lymph nodes and gum pockets during my appointment for cleaning.
