I love having Dr. Bass as my OBGYN. He is professional, hard working, and thorough. His assistant Emily is also very efficient. I just love her. She responds quickly to my emails through their web app, and always gets any paperwork I need completed done as soon as possible. The ultrasound technician is very sweet and accommodating. They also use a program that allows her to text all the images she took during the ultrasound to you and whomever else you want. I have been going to Dr. Bass since 2016, and he's delivered both of my children. I had C-sections both times, and the medical staff always comments on how great a job he did stitching me up (must be a nurse/doctor thing). I can't say enough good things about Dr. Bass. I have been seeing Dr. Bass for the last 8. I would not trade him for anyone or anything. He got me through a stressful pregnancy. When I was diagnosed not once but twice with breast cancer he was there. This time I am dealing with Stage IV. He truly cares about his patients. I gave birth at Plantation General Hospital on 1-15-19 with Dr Bass, MD. From the very beginning of my high risk pregnancy Dr Bass showed confidence and reassurance that my pregnancy could be managed despite my thyroid storm that landed me in the ER at 6 weeks of gestation. He was extremely proactive and involved with communication and management of my health with all my specialist. I received calls and emails outside of office hours when pertinent care was required. There was never a delay. I had the confidence that I didn't need to worry because if anything was abnormal, Dr bass or his assistant Emily would quickly be in contact. I had to be seen by a cardiologist, Endocrinogist and perinatologist. We had an abnormal ultrasound with the perinatologist that required a CVS. When I was uneasy with any of my specialist or their medical suggestions, Dr Bass would remain open minded to my suggestions and tried to facilitate any changes that were medically possible to bring me back at ease with my care plan. As a medical professional myself... I had a lot of questions... a lot of fears... and Dr Bass always addressed my concerns and was willing to consider my suggestions or explain why they wouldn't work. I trusted Dr Bass with my health and the health of my baby girl and he did not let us down. Dr Bass, his staff and the Plantation General Hospital were always respectful of my wishes and the pace I wanted things done. They communicated in detail every step we took in managing my pregnancy and why things could or could not occur. I was 100% comfortable that my needs and the babies needs were being met for the best and healthiest outcome. Upon arriving to Plantation General Hospital I felt well taken care of and respected. I've seen/ participated and photographed many births in the memorial system (Miramar/ west and Hollywood) for the last 8 years and my expectation of Plantation General Hospital was less of that for the Memorial System. I always maintain a back up plan to arrive at memorial regional in the case of an emergency. I'm glad that option wasn't utilized because I had a controlled, healthy and peaceful birth at Plantation General. Although I ended up requiring an induction which was my biggest fear. Dr Bass prepared and timed my induction and it was successful. The nurses, care, food and facilities at Plantation General surpassed what I witness and experienced prior in Memorial. The nurses were always on schedule with every order and promise, they communicated very well, never lied or covered up any action they were taking, they respected my wishes and came to my call instantly when I pressed the call button. They always had a relaxed and cheerful attitude. Dr Bass monitored me closely from home. I woke up at approx 8 cm around 145am and needing a little extra care. Dr Bass arrived shortly after and stayed with me for approx 4-5 hrs until our baby girl arrived safely. He had his team ready to go and he didn't just show up to catch her. I really felt like I was on vacation instead of being an admitted patient. I can not be happier with how peaceful and perfect my care, my birth experience and most importantly how healthy my baby girl and I turned out despite the many obstacles we had. Dr Bass has been my OBGYN for almost 4 years. He delivered my daughter and helped me through 2 MC. Asisde from that his office always ensures I don't miss an appointment or follow up. I'm not a big fan of the administrative staff, but DR Bass and his assistant Emily and the rest of the nurses and lab staff make up for it. I recommend Dr Bass to anyone that wants an honest doctor, with sense of humor. I read somewhere he has bad bedside manners... however my experience is completely different. If I could leave 0 stars I would because that is exactly what this practice deserves. Me and my husband started trying to conceive at the end of May and found out we were expecting on Father's day I had already seen Dr. Bass once before to go over our plans it was a short consultation very rushed more than likely because they are always running late with appointments. My next appointment was scheduled for this past Monday June 29th but I had called Thursday June 25th because I felt as if something was off they said everything was fine and they would see me Monday not a care in the world as to how I was feeling. When i woke up Monday morning I noticed I had some spotting and became concerned I called the office and explained what was going on to see if they would get me in earlier than my 11:30 AM appointment they said no that it was normal again I was not comfortable with their decision. So I waited till my appointment time @ 11:30AM I was not seen till 12:20PM they had told me I would be getting an ultrasound over the phone to make sure everything was okay once they got me in the room they said they would not because I was only 5 weeks again i cried and explained i was really worried they did not give a damn they brushed me off and sent me to get some lab work done. Yesterday morning I woke up and my bleeding was worse I called to see if they could get me in they transferred me to his assistant Emily's VM I left a message around noon 2:00 o'clock rolls around still no call back I called again I explained i needed to speak to someone they finally get her on the phone after holding for 20 Min and I told er my bleeding had worsen she did not want to bring me in she said to wait till next Wednesday July 8th which was when my next was appointment was scheduled for. I told her I was not going to wait she put me on hold for another 20 min and never came back on line. At this point i drove myself to the ER where they took me in did an ultrasound and blood work and confirmed I was having a miscarriage. And I want to make sure everyone understands I know there was nothing that could have been done to save our baby but it would have been nice to feel like the doctor i had chose to help with this journey actually cared which they don't. Dr. Bass is fantastic! Great front desk girls that are personable on the phone and in person. I waited in the waiting room for about 5-10 minutes then got called back for my vitals. I waited in that little room for another couple minutes then was called back to Dr. Bass' office. I was greeted with a smiling face and firm handshake. I was asked why I was there, a series of medically related questions, then asked to go to the operatory across the hall. My yearly exam didn't take too long and Dr. Bass was very gentle and kept me at ease by asking me questions about school and personal things. After the exam I was given a nice handshake and patted on the arm by Dr. Bass. I was asked to follow the assistant to their in house lab to get my blood drawn for blood tests. The nurse who drew my blood was friendly and laughing the couple minutes I was in there. She found my vein the first time and drew my blood without pain. I then went to the front desk and quickly checked out. I received my blood test results and Pap smear results just a few days later. So happy to have found an intelligent Gyno with a smooth running office and great staff. Two thumbs up from me :) read more

My new patient paperwork was completed online prior to my visit, so after I arrived a brief encounter to get a copy of my ID and insurance was all it took before I was asked me be seated. As I picked up the magazine my name was called, amazingly I had a 1:45pm appointment and was seen at 1:45 (my last Dr had a standard 2 hour wait, she was always behind schedule). The customer service is top notch , my exam was done with care and at the end my prescription was sent to my pharmacy (really appreciate not having to go to the pharmacy myself). Found Dr Bass about 5 years ago after I moved to Florida. I am from a smaller town and had been going to the same doctor for years and years prior to coming to his office. I probably went to 4 other ob/gyn offices in Fl before finding Dr Bass. p.s. (I am extremely picky). When I finally found the office after going through many that I didn't find acceptable I was relieved. The office staff are friendly and helpful, wait times are not bad, the office is nice and clean. When I met Dr Bass he took me in his office (not exam room) to discuss everything- then went into exam room and finished up by talking in his office. Very professional, kind and caring. Prior to moving to south Fl I had my first child via "emergency c-section" 8 years ago. After the long labor and section I was worried about having a planned repeat csection. He made me feel very comfortable, explained everything in detail etc. During this time I moved from broward to palm beach county, everyone suggested finding a doctor closer to where I lived etc... I stuck to my gut and continued going to see him. My csection went great, hospital stay at plantation General was great. I have no complaints only positive experience. I would recommend to any family or friend and will continue to keep him as my doctor even though it's a 45 minute drive. Thanks Dr Bass & staff! ------- Fast forward 4 years, now I live in Port St. Lucie...and became pregnant with third child. I'd heard stories of 3rd and 4th c sections being challenging due to scar tissue etc. once again chose to stick with dr bass and crew. Saw Dr. Bass for an IUD insertion. I had read horror stories online about the pain and it was no where near painful. In fact, I think a pap is worse. Dr. Bass does about 20 IUD insertions a month so is a pro- they even use an ultrasound to make sure it's in the exact right place. It's super fast, too. I've been a patient of Dr Bass for about the past 3 years as my gyno of abut 35 had retired. It's that feeling of reluctancy when searching out a new doctor. Once meeting Dr Bass, I never looked back. He is kind, caring and informative. During my annual visits, while examining me, he would always inquire if I had any pain and I thinking it was a strange question, my answer was always "no". Fast forward to December 2018 and I was experiencing some back pain. Thinking it was my spinal surgery from December 2017, I thought I would be living with this pain. After speaking with a friend, who is also my NP, she suggested I give Dr Bass a call and schedule a pelvic ultrasound. I am so glad I did. He reminded me that I had a huge fibroid and that is why he questioned me every visit about "pain". We discussed options and the reality was it needed to be removed so we scheduled a complete hysterectomy for April 2019. Dr Bass explained to me what to expect and what the process entails. He was spot on for every step of the way. It's now 2 months and while I still feel tender, I no longer have that lingering back pain and my life is getting back to normal. Please read the low ratings prior to selecting this doctor. Dr. Bass is a horrible person. He does not care about his patients. I have read ratings where this man was negligent.Thus, leading to a miscarriage. This man is incompetent! I recently went to his office to obtain a copy of my medical records to transfer to another doctor. He refused to provide me with such copy. Bass's record lady stated, " Bass adviced me to call the police on you if you continue to ask for the copy." Less than an hour later, while I was standing outside inquiring about legal advice, I saw the police. I stopped the man to ask how I could proceed. He then adviced me that Bass's lady contacted them because I wanted my own paperwork. Weird right? This a wonderful doctor. I'm a black pregnant woman. If these police people were not nice and professional, who knows what could have happened? Dr. Bass is in a league of his own! I have been his patient for over 10 years. He is loved by his patients and highly respected by his colleagues. He delivered both my daughters. Both were premature and the steps Dr. Bass took to ensure a safe delivery was amazing. He really cares for each patient and makes sure that he goes through all procedures step by step to give the patient the opportunity to ask questions or express concern. Recently, I unfortunately had to do a full hysterectomy and there was no doubt in my mind that he should perform the procedure for me. As usual, he gave me options, pros and cons, what he would advise a family member, and most importantly his attention to the pressing matter. I transferred to this office after my second visit with another OB who was ok, but had a horrible staff. Dr. Bass's office is clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the visits are always quick (I had to wait an hour only once out of about 10 visits, which is not bad when dealing with any dr, especially an OB.) I have called once on a weekend early in my pregnancy and he called me right back and answered my questions, and I recently called at 10:30am Friday and they got me in for a quick appointment before they closed for the weekend (at noon). I found Dr. Bass through yelp after switching from another Dr. who was not helping me at all and did not take my health seriously. I made an appointment with him and explained my situation (3 Ovarian cysts) he gave me all my options and with one of them being surgery. He explained the process step by step and answered ALL of my questions, I finally made the decision to have surgery which I was extremely nervous due to it being my first surgery. The day finally came and after my surgery they found that it was the best decision to have had surgery since my cyst was the size of a baseball and about to explode. I was thankful he did not remove any ovaries and handled everything professionally. I feel like he understand what us women go through and takes very good care in a professional manner. Dr Bass is cool and really trustworthy if you are a picky patient. He is punctual and efficient. This is my 2nd pregancy and my last experience wasn't so great. My ob-gyn didn't showed up when I had a late night delivery, I was assigned a doctor on-site randomly. So I was quite picky and want a doctor that I can trust myself and my baby with. This time I chose Bass, he's in office every check-up I had. And on my 39 wk check-up, Dr Bass found out I had early labor signs. He scheduled me to check into hospital at midnight and promised to see me at 7am, he showed up at 630am. He planed the whole delivery progress well, and check with me frequent enough, around 8:30am my baby comes out. I am very thankful for the smooth and easy delivery. A trip to the ob/gyn can typically feel nervous and awkward, but Dr. Bass delivered both of my children a few years ago and I have felt comfortable in his office and his care since he made me laugh on Day 1. I went in for an annual PAP and was told they would contact me in a week to tell me the result. I called and left a voicemail for his nurse after 2 weeks. Never got a call back. A month after my appointment I got an email telling me to login to see my results. No phone call or personal email. Probably won't be going back to this place. I feel it's different going to this type of Doctor rather than a family doctor for a strep test!! The waiting room is ridiculous. You'll wait for 45-60 minutes. Mean while nurses spend 15-20 min out in the lobby playing with babies. read more

I love Dr. Bass. I was a transfer pregnant patient and he sat me in his office and told me he wants me to feel comfortable and I can ask him anything. He is the first OBGYN that truly makes me feel comfortable and hears my concerns. Throughout the visits he was very nice and even made jokes.
