Due to medical reasons (I went to many doctors and specialists), they did not think HRT was for me. Dr Ritch put me on a low dose anti anxiety medicine and an estradiol insert. Both have been life changing. She is super knowledgeable on menopause...which is nearly impossible to find. On top of that, she is personable and takes her time with her patients. I initially was seen by my current OB, but was referred to Dr. Duerkes since she was not doing…read moredeliveries due to family obligations. He was very attentive and gave me the opportunity to ask any questions I had. He was also very informative and able to relay information to my Husband to endure he too understood anything he needed to. I was a little worried during labor because he ended up having to tell the nurse that if I wasn't able to delivery in the next hour I would have to be taken in for a C-section. So I was ferried since I did not want to be cut after delivering my first two girls vaginally. Needless to say those Nurses got me motivated and loving and Dr. Duerkes delivered my 3rd Baby (first Boy). I later had to call him during postpartum recovery since I had a headache that wouldn't go away even after taking Tylenol. He told me to go to the ER and I was admitted right away because of high blood pressure. Turned out it was postpartum preeclampsia, which was very scary. However, Dr. Duerkes was there to make sure all was well and had me on magnesium for 24 hours with monitoring for another 24 hours. He let me and my Husband know that he had actually been apart of a study or postpartum preeclampsia, so I was happy to be in good hands. I had one last check up with him to make sure my pressure was no longer high and then was back to my current OB for my 6 week check up as discussed. I wish Dr. Duerkes the best!

So nice and caring, super professional, knowledgeable, always see you with a smile and makes you feel as you are talking to someone that is truly listening to your concerns. Also, she is very gentle and shows you respect as soon as you arrive to the door. The offices are located close to the Memoria Hospital (which is my fav hospital) there is always parking (not always SO close) and the attention is usually fast (you do not have to wait LONG hours). She talks to me like a peer & not "I'm the doctor-you're the patient-I'm better than you-listen to me" type of attitude. She is really there to take care of me and my concerns, so I will continue with my annuals with her. She's also not the only friendly face.
