I really like Dr Sonnenblick ... That being said today's visit was a cluster because I didn't physically have my medical card i have the number and a photo of it but not the card. I was told I had to wait 30 minutes to be verified. And made to feel badly because I have messed up the schedule. If they need it that badly they should tell you to bring your physical card with you so it can be scanned. During my 30 minute wait the other 3 ladies in the waiting room also fessed up that they did not have a physical card with them either. However none of them were scolded like I was. My appointment was at 11, I showed up at 11. I left at 12:40 Normally I'm early but it's 2 days before Christmas and traffic and people driving just crazy this morning! However I figured returning patient I didn't need to fill out a stack of paperwork, right? Wrong I had to fill everything out again as if I was a new patient. IDK why they can't just email that to you before your appointment. Oh and the 3 other ladies without their insurance cards no they were not all still waiting which makes me think they were already running behind and just took it out on me because I was one more issue. And what ever you do don't forget your medical card they need to physically scan it not just see a copy or a picture in your phone. read more

I loved this gynecologist; my view has since changed. Now I'm find myself filing a complaint against her practice for refusing to provide results to a biopsy they performed without a second payment. I paid for a pap using my insurance with a deductible, no problem. I request a follow up to my abnormal results; why they are abnormal and to receive them. They're asking for ADDITIONAL PAYMENT as if it's a new appointment? GRAY ETHICS. You completed a biopsy and it's YOUR responsibility to provide information about it to the patient. I know good doctors are extremely rare these days and I am so hurt and disappointed that I have had to result to this. read more

I had been going to her for quite some time and would always leave frustrated with the lack of customer service her and her staff display. Additionally, the staff and doctor do not have any respect for people's time as they book several patients at the same time only to be rushed with the doctor once it is finally your turn after waiting for an hour or so to see her. I've been extremely patient with this office by going back time and time again, given them the benefit of the doubt, but they get paid very well to treat patients so rushed in person and poorly over the phone. There is no question the doctor is very knowledgeable but her customer service, her staff's customer service and how condescending she sometimes sounds when speaking to you, makes you want to go elsewhere. There are a ton of doctors out there, find someone nicer and better to pay your hard earned money to. read more

Go literally anywhere else, Im gonna explain what just happened to me so it doesn't happen to you soo I had an appointment on December 6th for an ultra sound to see if I had endometriosis I paid the copay of $30 when they called my name I informed the nurse I may be pregnant (because I was on chewable birth control for like 6 months and I couldn't stand the taste so I kept forgetting) they don't do pregnancies there anyways so they told me I had to just pee in a cup and do a pregnancy test instead it came back negative but since my bladder wasn't full I couldn't do the ultrasound which is fine no problem I was then told I could save the $30 for my next appointment or get it refunded that day I chose to keep it for my next appointment. Fast forward to dec 13 literally a week after my appointment I call to schedule my next appointment I ask if my copay is available for the next appointment and that's when the staff on the phone informs me it doesn't exist ... she tells me she can't see any $30 on my account but that actually I had a cancellation fee for dec 6... when I tell her exactly what happened she just repeats herself saying she doesn't see any $30 she said she was the office manger and then hung up on me.. I called back the next person put me on hold... so I go in person because it's very close to my house and explain to the lady at the front the situation who then gets im assuming the officer manger to speak to me and informs me that I had threatened the staff?? The calls are recorded so I'd love to hear what threats I said when I was clearly frustrated that $30 was missing in order to schedule my next appointment she even mistakenly spoke and said that I was threatening her in person ??? White women and the lies they tell to paint themselves as victims is hilarious and guess what when I asked her in person if she saw the $30 she said yes ...... and that it would be credited back to my account after they filed a claim. That was my original question that lead to this. It's really the high school mean girls that peak in high school that work in the health care system to make themselves feel important make a tiktok about this go head get fired January 11 2023 update I called my bank to see if the claim was started and what a surprise it hasn't been I have my receipt so at the end of the day I'm gonna get my money back but it's the fact the office manger lied to my face about starting the claim since they couldn't see the $30 well I certainly can see the $30 on my receipt so I had my bank begin the claim for me since the office manger was to incompetent to do it herself I would also like to agree with past reviews and say that this doctor is incompetent, was constantly more concerned with birth control than my health or mental health. I stopped birth control altogether for 2 months and I have never felt better I live with my bf too so we still have to be careful but I'm not being treated like an animal you don't want baby for. He cares more about the way I feel on the medication then she did! He encouraged me to get off and he was gonna be in charge of not getting me pregnant and if we do then we deal with it but I'd rather experience life like everyone else than have fake pregnancy brain forever until I'm "ready" for kids I've been on birth control since I was 16-17 and I'm 21 now I cannot do the next 5-6 years on birth control and nobody should be expected to, it is not that great of an invention as everyone wants to say it is and everyone that had the courage to get off of it despite how scary this country is with pregnancy good for you because that shit is literally depression pills and no one should be scared into being on them. read more

Normally, I do not write reviews but I read others reviwes before going to doctors. I was a little worried to go to Dr. Amy after reading reviews of her office(especially pertaining to her staff and reception). But I had a vry pleasant experience today, right from the receptionist to the doctor. I visited to Dr. Amy today, for the first time and her staff are receptionists were kind with smile on their faces, explaining all the questions I asked and clarifying my doubts. I had to wait for approximately 45 min to hour, but its understandable due to the precautionary measures due to COVID. Go half an hour early at least to do paperwork, carry your own pen. The seating arrangement is good considering Social distancing protocols. If there is no place they ask you to sit in your car and call you when its your turn. The doctor is polite, explains clearly, what, why, etc, she and her assistant made me feel very comfortable while doing tests. I highly recommend this doctor. read more

Overall, not a good experience here. I tried to make an appointment, and ended up canceling. I spoke to a few different people and they all spoke in a very rude tone. I was spoken down to and treated disrespectfully. Whenever I have an appointment, I'm usually out in less than an hour. She not only shows she cares while you're at her office, she also makes sure that she informs you of your options and treatments, even if that means that she calls you directly. read more

All the topics we discussed she responded with the worst case scenarios with a doom and gloom attitude. I actually walked out of her office quite upset. Dr.Sonnenblick is Amazing! She is very caring, detailed, organized with her treatment plans, and she is always on top of everything. I only have compliments for this doctor! I have recommended her to many friends and co-workers, and I will continue doing so. The nurses are always sweet and friendly. I have never encountered any issue. The receptionists need some personality adjustment. There has not been one time where they even asked me "Hi, how are you doing?". They are like robots aiming to complete their tasks for the day without emotions. I go mostly to the office in Fort Lauderdale because of its proximity to my house. This location is not fancy at all, but there is a Peacock hanging around. It's a beautiful bird!!!! :) The Plantation office is pretty and all but it does not have a pretty bird showing off its feathers. Overall, if you are looking for an excellent OBGYN, You found it! I am 100% positive that the bad reviews are either A. Not nice people or B. Went to a different doctor. I have been with this doctor for many years. Her staff are the same people for many years which says everything. She is caring and makes you feel like a friend each time you go. She listens and helps as needed. I am writing this because last month I had an issue that was not gyno related but felt very put off by another doctor and I was scared. I called Dr. Sonnenblick's office not only did they guide me, they called me for two days to make sure I was ok then gave me some advice that I'm pretty sure helped me to heal faster and enjoy a vacation. Dr. Sonnenblick and the nurses at the Fort Lauderdale office, specifically Karen and Suzie (sp?) are all caring, professional, and accommodating-ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP. Since moving to Florida many years ago, I have been cared for by Dr. Sonnenblick and her team (10+ years). Her knowledge is extensive and her intuition is spot-on. She diagnosed me with a very uncommon condition, (which had nothing to do with women's health issues), which I had been struggling with for months. If it wasn't for Dr. Sonnenblick and her knowledge, my health would not have been restored as quickly as it was. She discovered what was ailing me by choosing to order the appropriate blood test right away which then allowed me to begin receiving the treatment I needed to restore my quality of life. I've been to Dr. Sonnenblick about 3 times and I'm switching doctors because I find her to be awful and her nurse to be incompetent. Let's just first mention that the picture of her on your website is about 30 years old so I thought I was getting a young open minded doctor but that was far from true, coupled with the fact that they just moved offices but you can't find the new information anywhere online because they haven't updated even their own website yet, and the fact that their constantly texting me saying their phone lines are down (umm what?). But when I went to her for the first time, as is normal when you visit a gyno, they push the birth control. I don't need this pressure but thought maybe it was a good idea, turned out not to be the right choice for me. The problem wasn't there though. The problem was when I went back and told the doctor I wasn't going to continue with the BC. She was surprised at first but not a huge reaction while I was in the office. But when I left, she had her nurse call me several times, leaving a message to call her back because they were concern about my choice. I ignored them at first but the next day they started calling bright and early so I finally answered. I was told I WILL get pregnant not using birth control. Like I'm some 16 yr old in sex Ed. I'm 34- my body my choice. If you have concerns, don't have your nurse pester me with scare tactics. So that was a while ago and I'm finally switching doctors. Just getting my chart from this office has been a nightmare. I have called them 4 times, spoken with them 3 of those times, and my new office has called them twice. They have been sent 2 medical release forms. I am going to pick up the records in person because they can't seem to get it together. Since they switched office and idk how the new one is, I'm not even going to go into how the old office was a total HIPPA violation as you could hear other patient's consultations will you were waiting. She read over every note and report, she listened, asked questions and made me feel as relaxed as possible. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a dr who cares about their patients. *part 1* Let me just start off by saying Dr. Sonnenblick should not be practicing medicine. She is very unprofessional and from my experience, seems like she has no clue as to what she is doing. It only took three short appointments for me to realize that this doctor cares more about the money she makes then the actual treatment she is providing. I have been dealing with an infection for quite some time now and before I saw Dr. Sonnenblick, I did not have health care insurance. I was in and out of urgent cares and trying to cure myself any way I could. When I finally had health insurance again, I made an appointment with Dr. Sonnenblick and explained to her what I had been going through. She then prescribed me with medication (her "remedy") although she did not know exactly what was wrong with me because results would not be done for a few days. She also explained to me how it sounded like I had an STD which of course stressed me the hell out but at the same time, I knew it wasn't an STD from the symptoms I was experiencing. I thought it was completely unprofessional how she just bluntly told me she thought it was STD- mind you, I'm 22 years old and she made me feel very uncomfortable; as if just because I'm young and I have an infection, it has to be an STD. Not to mention, she has her nurse at her hip 24/7 which made me feel uncomfortable. If I made an appointment to talk to a gynecologist, I want to speak to the gynecologist one on one.. I do not want a nurse, whom is extremely rude and talks at/over you, hovering over us the whole entire time. It just seemed extremely fishy to me how the doctor explained the nurse was basically her sidekick, would be in the room at all times and that the nurse has been with her for many years. After my first appointment, I was in hopes that I would finally be treated and wouldn't have to deal with this infection anymore. When the test results came in, the nurse called me and insisted that I'd come in to go over the results with the doctor. I was honestly so scared that something was very wrong with me. Come to find out, everything was fine. I just had a really bad UTI along with some other things. I thought it was outrageous that she made me come into the office and pay another $50 copay to go over test results. She then proceeded to put me on more antibiotics just to "clear up any of the lingering infection". In the span of taking that medication, the symptoms came back. I booked another appointment and the doctor explained to me that the medication she put me on probably caused me to get a yeast infection... if she knew that there was a likelihood of that happening, why didn't she just prescribe me extra antibiotics to prevent that? Dr. Amy has been my Dr. for years and I have a number of friends and acquaintances who were already patients of Dr. Amy before we met. We all rave about her and happily refer her when we meet someone who's looking for a new GYN Dr. Don't be fooled by her direct, no BS manner. She's got a heart of gold, but she will tell you when you're neglecting your health or being unrealistic about your options. She'll answer any question you have, but you have to ASK and please be courteous when you book your appointment so they can make a longer appointment for you. Sometimes I've had to wait longer than others, but that's pretty normal for South Florida doctors. I've had issues with the front office being disorganized and not returning calls in the past, but have not had that problem recently. By the way, her Plantation office is very nicely decorated and very clean. read more

I love love love Dr. Sonnenblick. It's always difficult to find a new doctor but I was lucky to find her so easily via a coworkers referral. She is very informative, makes you feel extremely comfortable and is ALWAYS willing to help. I had an emergency after office hours and was able to call the emergency physician line (via her office phone number) and Dr. Sonnenblick called me back within an hour and was more than willing to help out and get me in to see her the next day. She always recommends the best but if a medication costs too much she says "Don't buy it - call me and I'll give you another recommendation!" She's the best doctor I've had. Both of her offices are nice. Plantation is more modern, and the one in Victoria Park has a warm old-homey feel. read more

After being a patient of the Plantation office for more than 15 years, I had to schedule an appointment at the Fort Lauderdale office as it was the only available time. Upon arrival, the smell of mold was so incredibly overwhelming that I got an immediate migraine. After waiting 15 minutes, I told the receptionist that I would not be able to wait another minute because the mold was making me sick. She understood and said she would let the doctor know. I spent the entire day expecting a call from Dr Sonnenblick to find out if I was okay, but never heard a word. Very sad after being a patient for so long. Needless to say, I won't be back! read more

My biggest complaint is NOT being able to get test results over the phone. The results WERE NOT EVEN BAD. I waited 2 hours and was charged $65 for her to say "we are going to keep our eye on it". This does NOT make sense and is a very disgusting way to just get more money. read more

Horrible time management! This was my 2nd time visiting this office and the first time I had a bit of a wait but I assumed it was because I was a new patient. This time my appointment was for 2pm. I waited 30 minutes before I was even called to the desk to fill out paperwork. I waited another hour before I was called to the back. I get to the exam room at 3:30 and wait another 15 minutes for the doctor. My appointment was at 2 and I was not seen until 3:45. Dr. Sonnenblick is awesome at what she does but the office is unprofessional and the staff is not friendly. read more

My experience with Dr. S. was terrible! It was an hour wait. She explained 2 tests would be done. She said she didn't deliver babies for new pts, only existing pts. I had told the office when sched my appt that I hoped to get pregnant soon. This would be very helpful for new pts to know ahead of time. While checking out, Dr. took call and told someone tests results right in front me. This was violated that pt's privacy. I learned that not 2, but 6 tests had been run, costing $746! I should've been informed that 6 tests were being done for such a high cost. I got the test results 2 wks later, after calling repeatedly for them. After my visit, I wrote a professional letter to the office to let them know about my experience as a 1st time pt. I detailed my concerns but was not emotional, just factual. The billing mgr called to reprimand me for the letter. She told me that it was not the dr's responsibility to inform a pt of costs. She raised her voice and talked over me. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Sonnenblick for over 10 years at her Plantation office. She is one of the best doctors I've ever been to. She is caring, careful, gentle, and explains what she's doing while she's doing it and why. I went through a really bad health issue in 2004-2005 and she was concerned and interested in my outcome and recovery. She takes time to listen and engage when appropriate. Dr. Sonnenblick is excellent. Dr. Sonnenblick is usually prompt with appointments. I'm almost always called in within 15 minutes of my appointment time. One time I had to wait more than 30 minutes (I've waited an hour past my appointment time before being called in at many doctor's offices), but this was near the end of the day when time creep always happens. I don't hold that against her because she takes the time to talk to you if you need to - you never feel like you're getting rushed out. I feel sorry for that one reviewer who had a bad experience, but none of what she said sounded anything like anyone I've ever spoken with in Dr. Sonnenblick's office. My only wish is that her appointment desk was staffed better. You always have to leave a message and wait for someone to call back. I'd rather be able to make the appointment when I call. With cell phones, though, it's not like you have to sit by the phone and wait, so it's not that big a deal. read more

I love Dr. Sonnenblick. My primary care doctor recommended her to me after I complained that I couldn't find a good gynecologist. I tried 3 others before her and had the same experience with each. Very quick examinations, they didn't ask me any probing questions to see if anything was going on and they weren't comforting. Dr Sonnenblick was the complete opposite. Very personable, talks to you to keep your mind off discomfort during procedures and asks a lot of questions which helps because sometimes I get in there and forget to mention things. I usually never wait more than a half hour to be seen. read more
