The meeting room had a gorgeous view of Seattle - but don't let that fool you. This was the first employment agency I worked with when moving to Seattle and it was a huge regret. Long story short, the Recruiter pared down my confidence and said I would have a very difficult time finding a job with the salary I wanted. I felt discouraged for weeks. I decided not to work with them and found another agency that was friendly but also professional (and encouraging). I ended up finding a job above my salary expectation. Working with The Robert Half Creative Group gave me the opportunity to land my DREAM JOB at Starbucks Coffee Company. As I read through some of the other reviews, most were positive but some expressed sour grapes. I think there are some misaligned expectations as to what a staffing agency is. A staffing agency makes their money by supplying companies with workers either on a temporary are permanent basis. Unless you are paying a staffing agency a fee to find you employment, then the staffing agency's fiduciary responsibility is to the company that is paying them. You need to understand and accept this if you are going to work with a staffing agency. Here's how you benefit from the relationship... Staffing agencies can give you the opportunity/connection to network, learn, and build your resume with world-class business organizations that are extremely challenging to get your foot in the door. Once in though, it's up to YOU to prove yourself and work toward finding your dream job. You can't walk in and expect your dream job to be handed to you. Competition for good jobs in good markets is tough. You have to come at it by assessing the situation for fit, figuring out where YOU can add value in ways that align with your career objectives, get along with ALL the players (putting your ego in check), make a plan, STAY POSITIVE, and execute on it. Oh and by the way, all that work might NOT lead to a permanent job. Don't expect that, if you do you will fail at staying positive. However, know that all the work you are doing is being added to your resume. The way you are handling the situation is being noted by all those you are working with. They will remember you, refer you, and be a reference for you. If played right, over time you will land your dream job. TCG's role was they gave me the connection to make it happen, and supported me with training and advice on handling situations as they arose. That's it, that's all any staffing agency can realistically do for you. Here at the end of my experience with TCG, I can say they've actually EXCEEDED my expectations for a staffing agency. TCG offered me much more career building benefits than other staffing agencies. Benefits such as continued industry training, portfolio showings, attendance to top business industry conferences, team building and network events. This is the stuff that helps you develop your career path. Lastly, they've made my transition to full employment with Starbucks very, very easy. Initially, Robert Half seemed great. I had not one, not two, but three recruiters meet with my very first day and "interview" process. My recruiter got my hopes up with a job, strung me along for about a week on it promising more details to come, and then abruptly told me it had already been offered to someone else. About a month later, the same job was up for grabs again. Silly me, I was excited and took it. I thought the stars had aligned for me! 10 days into the brand new job, I got a voicemail from my recruiter at 5:45pm on a Friday. My gut reaction was that he was calling to check in on my new role. Nope, calling to tell me today would be my last day at the company... I was already home and had no way of getting my personal belongings, let alone contacting anyone. I felt like things had been going great and was completely taken aback. I returned Monday morning to my office to get my things. When I went to the temp agency afterwards, I asked to speak to the recruiter. I asked why he'd called so late on a Friday and he explained that "this is protocol in order to avoid awkward conflict." I responded that going to get my things after being terminated had been pretty awkward!! He was taken aback, telling me, "You are not supposed to go back. We get your things from you." This so-called policy was never mentioned in the voicemail nor anywhere else. I kept things civil and asked if this termination would affect future job opportunities down the line. My recruiter was very quick to say, "of course not! We love you. We'll be in touch." This was about two months ago now and I have not heard back since. I have sent two emails attempting to touch base and both have gone unanswered. Very unprofessional at this place. You are expendable. You don't matter. Long story short - AVOID AVOID AVOID ROBERT HALF. read more

I fired these guys yesterday. After working with them for nearly three months they were never able to find a position that came close to checking all the boxes of what I was looking for and after I was told how wonderfully experienced I was they really could only identify lower level positions with lackluster pay and benefits. After a few weeks it became clear that my initial phone conversation was ignored. First I'm not a CPA: they knew this from the start but then one of the positions clearly indicated that employer wanted a CPA I turned this position down as I wasn't qualified. A couple of other positions were either significantly below my acceptable pay range or had a benefit package I had previously indicated wouldn't be acceptable. Then when they found a position I was qualified for (over ten years of accounting experience in this specific industry) they weren't able to get me into the room to interview. I asked if they new why I was rejected out of hand with significant experience the recruiter didn't have an explanation. Seriously, don't they make any effort to champion the talent they are marketing? Finally the employer did agree to meet me but at that point I was rather soured by both Robert Half and the employer in question and decided not to move forward. At that point my resume was put in the bottom of the stack. I suppose if you are unemployed and need something for work Robert Half maybe able to find you something (?) But if you are currently employed and are looking for either lateral or upward movement in your career they really aren't a good option. Their behavior indicates they clearly work for the employer and you are simply a bucket of skills to be used as a commodity. read more

TCG turned my skepticism of placement agencies into a solid relationship built on trust. To be honest, I had initially thought of placement agencies as companies that mostly just try and find over qualified candidates to throw at under-paying roles, for giant companies that don't care about getting rid of it's contractors. While the giant company part might be true some of the time, (there are companies that use contractors as a disposable workforce,) I was VERY wrong about my impressions of placement agencies, or at least, I was very wrong about TCG. Nicole Christos reached out to me, seemingly out of nowhere, and she consistently gave me feedback and weekly work possibilities for roles I might be qualified for. When she didn't have any leads, she would forward my resume on to other people at TCG. I took a short term contract at one point just to get work, and then after it ended, my second contract turned into a full time roll. TCG doesn't overwhelm their recruiters with too many people to keep track of, and in return the recruiters there do honestly care about the employees. In a time where I was worried about where I was going to end up, TCG felt like a friend in what was otherwise a very stressful exercise of just throwing my resume into the void and hoping to hear back from companies. If I ever need contract work again, they are who I will turn to. read more

I had been signed up with Robert Half for a while during a period of freelancing, passively keeping track of jobs. An opportunity with Amazon came up and TCG made interviewing and accepting that contract really smooth. They were excited for me, always positive, and available for my questions. They value a personal connection and did not treat me like just another resource. Amazon continued to renew my contract through TCG for three years in a row and I have just converted to an FTE role. Even still, TCG has been really excited for me without an ounce of negativity over my transition. Being out of work is difficult enough, but dealing with employment agencies that don't help you at all is like being kicked while you're down. While being unemployed for 6 months in 2009, I worked with several popular employment agencies in Seattle and found myself feeling really disappointed in how little effort was being put forth to help me get a job. I would apply and contact the recruiter I was working with, but would never hear anything back. Not only would I go to interviews with these agencies and meet some really unprofessional people, I often was more qualified to be employed than the people interviewing me! :\ Then one day I applied for a job through The Creative Group and was called in for an interview that same week. Although I ended up being a bit junior for the position I was interviewing for, the meeting with TCG ended up being extremely helpful in the long-run. I met with a really great recruiter who kept my name floating in the agency in order to help me get a job. I was later contacted by another recruiter at TCG that presented several job opportunities to me as they came about. I worked very closely with this recruiter, was very open with her about my job hunt and the interviews she was setting me on, and shortly thereafter landed my first job in Washington! I'm currently contracting with a great company in Redmond, and I really owe The Creative Group and its recruiters a tremendous "thank you" for all of their hard work in helping me to get placed. A month into contracting, the recruiters I've worked with are still very communicative and working to ensure that I'm enjoying my contract. Oh, a couple of admin things to mention about TCG that I like. One, you get paid weekly and can sign up for direct deposit, which I did and it took effect within my 2nd week of contracting! Two, you can apply for health insurance benefits through TCG. This is incredibly beneficial if you're a contractor, like myself, and are not provided benefit options through the company you're working with. I guess I just wanted to review TCG and say that I'm incredibly pleased with my experience with them. They have some of the most incredibly hard-working recruiters and are connected with some of the best names in Seattle. I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the creative industry and are looking to be placed with a great company. I worked with a recruiter at TCG for a management position at a tech company in Redmond. You know the one. After a very short interview process I was offered the job and started doing my background checks. During that time I turned down 1 offer from a large ecommerce company in Seattle, you know the one, as well as two interviews at other companies. 2 weeks after receiving the offer I got a call letting me know they had screwed up the requisition and that the job I interviewed for wasn't eligible for the contract they had set it up with. I didn't have the job. They assured me they would do everything they could to take care of me but now here I sit, a month later, and I haven't heard from anyone. Not once. When you're unemployed any lead is a good one. If you're already employed or just looking I'd use other recruiting agencies. And if you happen to have two offers on the table, one from TCG and another from some place else, ALWAYS pick the one from someplace else. ALWAYS. read more

I interviewed at their Seattle office in January. Their office is nice, they have a nice view. Their staff was polite, and Laura was professional during the interview and on the phone. They never found anything for me though while other staffing companies did. By comparison, AppleOne in Bellevue did a much better job and getting me interviews, especially considering I was new to the city and lacking much of a professional network. Laura did introduce me to someone from OfficeTeam though, who did find me day to day work a few months later which was what I needed at the time. So that was nice. Please do not go here!! I am really angry and upset over how they treat people. It is a requirement for people who work here to be abusive and they LIE TO JOB SEEKERS!!! I am reporting them to the Department of Labor. I spent two days being told by Kristin that I was being submitted to a job, that I was her "top candidate", that she understood how much I had struggled with being unemployed and needing immediate work and how I had no income. I am a highly skilled worker with 28 years of award winning admin. and customer service experience. I was told by Kristin that I was going to get a job at this public relations firm and that they just needed a phone screen with me and that was it. I called Friday to find out why I had not been contacted after spending two days going through their application process. When I got no response from Kristin, I called and I got some very rude people (as other people have said) who are miserable with their lives and it comes across on the phone. I got Jennifer on the Friday I was supposed to "wait by the phone for this great interview" and Jennifer said, "I do not even see your file here and do not even see that you were on a list for an interview." It was upsetting and disgusting to me that she pretended like I was crazy for telling her what Kristin told me. She laughed at me and mocked me. I then got Ashley on the phone today who told me the Manager was Anna and Anna said despite me telling her all this, "It was not enough information that anything was done wrong." And that "I might want to go somewhere else for a job." JUST FYI: I WOULD NOT WANT TO WORK FOR YOU. I've worked with Ayako and Kirsten several times here. Long story short, they've been nothing but rock stars on every occasion. The Seattle area has become flooded with recruiters who don't even so much as return phone calls, let alone actually contact candidates about a relevant role. That's simply not the case with TCG. Ayako has most recently placed me in a contract role that had me going to work the day after she submitted me - and that's not the only time. I got the rate I wanted, and I could work offsite and make my own hours. Put simply, TCG is the best recruiting agency in the area. This company must get paid by the amount of people they can convince to walk in their door because it sure isn't for job placement. TWICE I tried working with them. The first time I was contacted based on my resume submittal about some jobs that I possibly would qualify for. I went down to their office and did a bunch of testing, was told a bit more about the jobs closer to my qualifications, was told I would be contacted once they hear back from the companies, but NOTHING! I couldn't even reach the person that I was dealing with any more The second time a lady called me about some positions that I might be a match with and invited me to come in for an interview and testing. I told her no way and explained what happened the previous time. She apologized and insisted that wouldn't be the case this time. So, on my lunch hour I went in and met with her, again did some testing and was told about some possible job matches that she was going to submit my info to and contact me for a referral. NOTHING!! No calls, no callbacks, no referrals, no more emails. Nothing! Is this place like in the dating world where if you don't get a call or a call back that means that they are not interested in you? They'll find you temporary staffing solutions that work more in their favor. Remember they're getting money on top of whatever you're getting paid. I'd rather go 1099 than waste time still looking for a better career here. I thought they were better, but they're just as bad as Randst*d. They're also not very good on communicating things about the assignment, they're mostly concerned with getting you on the assignment and making their cut from it. There are many choices for a creative professional who is looking for a staffing agency to help find employment. While there may be some positions that are exclusive to a particular staffing-agency, there is also a great deal of crossover and you shouldn't need to sign up with more than one or two. Having worked with almost every staffing agency in Seattle both as a candidate and an employer, I found the recruiters at The Creative Group to be the most pro-active in placing me. Nicole, my assigned representative regularly called me to check in and reassure me that she was actively pursuing opportunities on my behalf. Every week I was emailed or called by Nicole or other staff members about available positions. Most importantly, they were able to find me work very quickly. There are other capable staffing agencies in town, but none have seemed as invested in my success as The Creative Group. read more

I'm not sure my situation is the most typical, but here it is: When I first signed up with OfficeTeam via their website (by submitting my resume, filling out information, etc) they immediately called me to set up an "interview," aka just a meeting where you dress as if you're going to an interview. When I arrived I filled out paperwork, took a quick optional survey on the computer, and then met with the woman assigned to me. We discussed my experience, what kind of jobs I'd like to work on, what I was or was not comfortable doing, how I would be getting to jobs, etc. It all seemed to go pretty well, and there didn't appear to be a question as to whether or not they'd be able to find me something. Now, I DID have a part-time job at the time (which ranged from 12 to 20 hours a week at most, at minimum wage... not exactly ideal). Originally they said they don't recommend those with part-time jobs to come to them. BUT I needed to make more money and I was not willing to part with my only stable source of income at the time. Knowing that, they worked with me until they could find something that'd jive with my experience and schedule. It took about 3 months, but I got a call one day in June about a potential long term job. When I gave them a call back the job had already been passed off to another temp, but they had something else that popped up that sounded like it could work for me. Flexible schedule, 20 hours a week, making more than minimum wage (which was definitely sufficient at the time, and more or less suitable to my experience level). PLUS it was good until September, so I had a few months buffer to figure out what I wanted to do job-wise. Funny thing about that job is that they liked me so much they switched the position from temp to temp-to-hire so they could keep me on. I'm now full-time, 40 hours a week, with a pay bump from my temp wage and medical benefits thrown on top of it. I couldn't ask for a better opportunity considering the current economy, and I'm gaining a ton of experience here that can translate to any future jobs I have. Though I had hoped for a quicker turnover for my first position through them, and my representative changed partway through the process (thus causing a little confusion in terms of what the company I was placed at wanted in terms of hiring me on permanently) OfficeTeam did a great job finding one that was right for ME. I'm more than pleased with my results. read more

I had an outstanding experience with OfficeTeam. I left a food service management job in the summer of last year, hoping for a Mon.-Fri. office job (something I'd never had before), but with no real office experience of any kind. After two months of a few interviews and no results, I decided to give temping a try. After signing up with OfficeTeam online, I got a call for an interview after about two weeks. My interview was with Mika, who was fantastic. I then worked with Alycia, who got me started at a SaaS company. While I was temping, OfficeTeam had a bunch of education resources and online learning tools made available--Excel classes, Outlook classes, tons of great stuff. The communication was thorough and fantastic--they communicated with me every step of the way, and consistently checked in to make sure that I was satisfied and that the job still felt like a good fit. After a few months temping there, I was hired on fulltime, given a raise, and eventually a bonus plan--and I'm still here and love it! The most impressive part--even after getting hired by a different company, Alycia has still kept in touch with me, and met up with me to check in and gauge that I am still satisfied at the permanent job she helped me find. OfficeTeam is a great, great way to break into a new industry, for anyone without all the requisite experience. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to "graduate" food service or retail, or anyone in a new city looking to network and build meaningful business connections. read more

Amanda M (Mandie) and Anthony P, respectively, both put their best foot forward in meeting with me and connecting me with companies that were looking for my particular skill sets. Mandie would email me often to see how I was doing with job interviews and prospective work. She definitely made me feel like I had someone looking out for my best interests. That isn't to say Anthony didn't--quite the contrary. He quickly introduced me to a company that would be lucky to add a designer to its ranks. Both Mandie and Anthony were at all times professional and respectful of my time. I was asked to join a friend's startup so in the end I didn't fully utilize TCG's services. I've been working with OfficeTeam for just about 1.75 years now and while I've gotten a couple of good assignments from them I'm starting to get pretty fed up with how unprofessional and unresponsive they are. The other negative reviews are here seem to line up pretty well with my experience. Towards the end of my last assignment, I contacted my point of contact at OfficeTeam and got an out of office reply: she was out of the office on vacation for a month and hadn't told me. I called into the office and spoke to someone else who thought that my assignment wasn't ending for another month! Once my point of contact was back from vacation, she told me a couple times that she would call me to follow up on positions and never did. On the last week of my assignment, she told me I would get a call "shortly" about a great job they had found for me. I didn't hear from anyone for two days. When I finally did hear from someone, I found out that this great job that they'd found for me didn't fit my needs at all (was completely different hours and working days than all my previous positions). I was then told on Thursday or Friday that they'd found a possible position but that they customer wanted me to come in for an interview and they would email me with details about when and where that would be. I never got an email. The next Monday, I tried emailing her to find out why I never got an email about that interview and if they'd had any luck finding me a new position (I was unemployed at this point) and she told me that she'd been transferred to a different department. They eventually found me another position but it was a nightmare not knowing for a few days what was going on and whether I'd be able to pay my rent. Now I'm on my last day of my latest assignment. I emailed last week to make sure they knew this assignment was ending and I was told I should hear from the person in charge of doing placements in a couple of days. Followed up on Thursday and I was told I would hear from him Friday or Monday. Now today I followed up again because I still haven't heard anything and was told they would contact me "when another opportunity comes up." I've done good work for them for almost two years, have made them buckets of money (I know what the client pays compared to what I make) and I feel like this kind of treatment is unacceptable. I would recommend working with a different staffing agency if you have the opportunity. read more

When you see a job description on their site that fits your previous work history - they are an amazing resource. My POC Ivan pulled me into the office for a quick meeting within 3 days after receiving my resume, then set me up with an interview very quickly. He was an amazing contact person throughout the duration of my contract and was very happy to listen to any information I could provide. I held my first freelancer role with them in December 2014, and that opportunity ended up converting me to a full time employee int he summer of 2015. Ivan was very open to discussing all of my concerns and settled all of my nerves about being on my first contract job. Freelancing isn't for me, but I have learned a lot about it and I'll definitely be calling him back if I end up seeking a contract position again in the future. read more

After I met at their Seattle office for an interview I was promised their commitment to my success and said they have very good relationships with the high profile tech jobs I was after. Then completely radio silence for months. Waste of time using their very poorly designed website to send your resume out for jobs you will never get a response from. Their posting for jobs on their site are pointless. The company isn't disclosed and the postings are too vague or way too broad for any specific position. They are a recruiting agency supposed to be an aid in your job search but they barely read your resume and after the interview no contact. read more

I have been dealing with the various Robert Half companies for nearly two decades, in four states. I have missed out on opportunities because lied about my skill set to clients. Once I realized this was consistent behavior across locations, I stepped back from a client that was really interested in me. The client was sold a completely different skill set than I have. Then I emailed to request that they don't continue with scheduling. I received an email that they scheduled an interview. I called her immediately and to ask if she received the email and to cancel the appointment. She threatened me. She threatened to make sure I didn't get work again if I didn't go to the interview. When I still wouldn't, she insisted that I write a letter to the client explaining why. I did but I am pretty sure it never made it to the client. Fast forward a few months. I start getting calls and emails about positions. When I would follow, got no reply. I finally got in touch with a manager who as just as much of a useless liar as the recruiters, though I didn't realize it first.. He put me in touch with a recruiter, we talked on the phone. He started talking about the skills they show in their system. I stopped him when he go to the one I don't have. I told him that was mistake. He calls me the next day about a big client that needs one specific skill. It was the one I don't have. I reminded him of this and he said it was on my resume. I asked him to forward the job description and I would review it and get back to him. He then tells me that he can't send it until I send my references and that sending the job description is a waste of time for him the client. I told I didn't want my references called without knowing if I am interested in the position. Then he accused me of not having references. When I repeated the previous statement he starting yelling at me. Saying that I'm lying about my skill set and and I'm wasting his time by asking about the job description. I finally hung up on him. I am done with Robert Half International and all it's various divisions. I am done with people that think lies and intimation are acceptable business practices. I am done with their complete lack of ethics. read more

There were those that neglected me and there were ones that sent me every job opening description regardless if they were applicable to me. TCG, however, knew what I was looking for and selectively sent me only the descriptions where I had the best chances. I landed a great contract gig through TCG which turned into a regular role a few months later. The team at TCG, Nicole, Kirsten, and Charlene, made sure I had everything I needed to start my contract position successfully. She was incredibly attentive, responsive and just plain easy to talk to. Nothing less than professional in every exchange, she would email me every week to check on how the gig was going. That kind of thing resonates; it's good to have someone in your corner when trying to navigate unfamiliar territory. I was with Office Team for a little over a year before a company I temped for offered me a full-time position. I can't say enough about OfficeTeam and those I worked with - namely, Kelsey, Melissa, and Alison. Their receptionists are as helpful and friendly as they can possibly be, their testing/interview process is smooth and stress-free, everyone was very friendly, professional, and actually listened to what I was looking for. All the roles were decent paying for Seattle, in line with my past experience, and in my spheres of interest. They were great at checking in regularly with me, and they follow up with the client as well - and when a gig isn't going well they handle it incredibly professionally as well. One gig I found particularly difficult and over-qualified for. They read between the lines that neither the client nor I were happy and sent someone else out the next day and I wasn't penalized or "benched." I transitioned to another gig the next day, I think! As temp/employment agencies go, you couldn't ask for anything more. Their parent company, Robert Half Int., offers full benefits, retirement savings, further skill training, and a host of other benefits you can participate in. If I found myself out of work I would definitely go back immediately! I've contacted Accountemps and Robert Half recruiters and always get a front desk clerk that asks me to leave messages because the recruiters always seem very busy. I have also registered with them online and get no results. No call backs from recruiters I leave messages for. It's really just sad. From the lack of response I get from these people, I don't know why I should trust these people to find me a job. Move on and find recruiters that actually want to work!! read more

I contacted Robert Half Legal about reentering the legal work market as I had been away for several years in another occupation related to legal. The recruiters I had contact with were very encouraging and professional on the phone. However, meeting them in person was a total waste of my time. I met with them 3 times over the course of two years when I was looking to return to legal work. Never did what they said they would do, a total waste of time. I was frankly offended that after having filled out all their paperwork before coming in to meet with them, taken their online tests, written a bio of my experiences, etc; they had not even bothered to actually read my resume. The last recruiter I met with (for appr 5 minutes) asked about my last job which was in a field related to legal. She said that she thought I had been working for an attorney where it was clearly stated that my last position was in a commercial appraisal office where a majority of the work was done for law firms.. I was shocked that the gal hadn't even read the resume. Because my legal experience (15 yrs) was not current, she said she could not help me. They wasted their own time and mine, all because they can't read. Would not recommend. read more

I love Accountemps and have worked with them off and on for many years. Totally professional and I've never had a problem getting temporary jobs. They also have some full time jobs. They offer insurance after a certain number of hours and other benefits - something that didn't exist 20 years ago when I first started working for them. From entry level accounting clerks to management they've got plenty of work if you like working temp or want to try out the temp to permanent route, which can be a great way to evaluate a company. read more

Great Experience! I had just relocated to Seattle and was in the midst of a career change when I stumbled across OfficeTeam's website. I registered and almost immediately got a call from a representative who wanted to chat about my experience and the kinds of positions I was looking for. I met with her in person a few days later and that evening was getting calls with potential positions. They were great about keeping me busy, working in short roles in order to gain experience and make a little money to hold me over. A big plus of the short-term jobs was the opportunity to make connections with lots of people in a new city and to help me get a feel for what kind of role I'd be happiest in. Within a month I was working for a great company and after about 3.5 months was hired on there full-time.
