I've been meaning to write this review for quite a while and finally set aside some time to do so. A couple years ago I applied to a position online for an Executive Assistant and then was invited into their office to meet with a recruiter. She went over what I was looking for, my qualifications and some resume tips. I wasn't a fit for the particular role I applied too but she let me know why. A few days later she lined up an interview for a different wealth management company on the eastside for me. The day before she prepped me for the in person interview and it was insightful. She gave me advice to answer any difficult questions, weaknesses, strengths, job history, etc. She also gave me interview tips as to what to expect from their individual personalities and company culture. I really felt prepared and confident the next morning going into that interview and the 2nd interview a couple days later. The company ended up offering the role to another candidate which I understood. However, I was never told that I didn't get the position. I had to email and call my recruiter several times to finally get the word that they chose another candidate after 2 weeks of no feedback. That was the part that rubbed me the wrong way. It was like as soon as she knew I wouldn't make her any money, she didn't even have the decency to let me know to continue my job search elsewhere. A few months went by and I got kind of an obscure email from her stating something along the lines of 'a job just came across my desk that made her think of me and she wanted to get an update on my job search'. When I called her immediately there was in fact no position she had in mind and it was almost like the email wasn't supposed to go to me at all. She told me she would keep me in mind for other roles but I never heard from her again. Fast forward a few years later and I'm now a recruiter for a staffing agency. It was helpful to go through that experience to see the candidates perspective throughout the process. Communication with candidates is key, it makes them feel valued and I guarantee they will be appreciative to hear any feedback you know. So many recruiters don't do this which is why agencies scare good candidates away. I'm not blaming Business Talent Solutions, I understand the industry enough to know that a lot goes on in a recruiters day. This is also why I decided to keep the recruiter I worked with anonymously in hopes that all their recruiters can learn from this. But from my experience this company didn't come through for me and overall didn't leave a great impression. The interview went well. The staffing recruiter was pleasant and polite. She told me she had a position that I would be perfect for and asked that I stay available, so that I could go in for an interview at the hiring business very soon. When I left she said she would be in touch shortly and to keep her notified if I found a job before she got back to me. I never heard back from her again. Not an email, not a phone call, nothing. I would expect that a recruiting agency that has been in the business for as long as them would at least have the decency to contact an individual and let them know that for whatever reason that it just wasn't going to work out. I was contacted by Laurel Rick through a job posting on Indeed. Initially, she was VERY responsive and helpful. She thought my resume looked great, and we had some very personal discussions about my past experiences. I truly believed BTS was the right choice. She took time to prepare me for two interviews through their company. After one of those interviews, Laurel told me the company liked me and wanted to schedule a second interview. Then, suddenly, she dropped off the face of the Earth. I emailed a couple of times over the course of a few weeks to ask for updates, and was eventually told that the company is now "going through changes" and the position I interviewed for is no longer needed. That was pretty disappointing. I know things like that are not under their control, but it still stung as I had put a lot of effort into that interview. I also asked a couple times if there were any other openings available, but those questions were ignored. I haven't heard anything in weeks. I was so excited to work with Laurel in the beginning, and I think she's good at what she does. But going by the radio silence I get the impression she is no longer interested in working with me. It was a pleasure working with this company, especially Dana! I originally applied for a job on indeed not realizing it was through a talent agency so when I received a call from them I was slightly confused. I went down for an interview with Dana and as said in other reviews, they don't validate for parking so you do have to pay for parking. Dana was absolutely wonderful~! The first meeting was amazing and she helped me greatly with my resume and how to fix it. After I fixed my resume (that I made in college) I gave the template to my roommate and she was able to get a new job because of the updated resume. I was a little disappointed when I didn't hear from her for two weeks (I was desperate to leave my current job as quickly as possible), but I did hear back from her. I unfortunately had a negative experience with this organization. I applied for a position and Dana Reeves contacted me. She mentioned that I would be a good fit for this role and we scheduled an interview. We met a couple of days letter and it was one of my worst experiences I've had in an interview. Dana was completely unprofessional by yawning and looking disinterested during the entire interview. When she asked for my salary expectations I told her and she then proceeded to laugh and mentioned that I wouldn't be able to find a position matching my salary. At the end of the interview she said I wasn't a fit for this role and mentioned that the previous woman that just left had ten years of experience over me in that role. Then why did you say I was a good fit then and call me to come in? You wasted my my time and yours as well! Unfortunately I know that this is the games recruiters play. I responded to a posting for an Assistant Controller position listed at $63k per year. The actual job was for a Bookkeeper and the employer's expectation was to pay $55k - $60k per year. This was my first time working with an employment agency, needless to say it will be my last. Taking the position the agent helped talk me into was a nightmare, and the worst decision I have ever made in my life. I cannot blame her for how toxic and broken the organization's accounting department was, she did not work there, but I very much hold her responsible for lying in her advertisement about the job they were hiring for in the first place.
