I used to come here as a kid and remember how they grinded away at my front teeth for no reason and how Rhonda never properly polished my teeth. She would start and do a couple then pretend to do the rest by moving the polisher over the teeth quickly to act like she got them all. IF they have improved since then, good on them but this was my honest experience. I also remember that they kept trying to get me to remove my wisdom teeth when it wasn't necessary. Whoever goes here, get a second opinion from another dentist. I still have my wisdom teeth to this day despite them. read more

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Waldman. Wait. Do DDS go by Dr too? think. think. Yes, I think they do. ANYWAY... Dr. Waldman is my 92 year old Granny's DDS. As you might gather, at 92, teeth things come up. Things crack. Get lost in food. Mistaken for a bone. Stuff like that. Well she has had to come in more than usual in the past 6 months. On two diff occasions, she has shared with me some of Dr. Waldman's random acts of kindness. Once he offered to come in on a Sunday to take care of her. And more recently he had to pull one of her teeth and she told me he called her that night around 8pm to make sure she was okay! Some might say this is what they are supposed to do--whats the big deal!? Well, what I have found in my past 20 years of DDS hell, it's not the case anymore. Bedside manner, or whatever you chose to call it has become a thing of the past. So, when someone takes the time to demonstrate this type of courteousness in 2009, I appreciate it and I know my Granny Goose does too! Thanks DOC and staff! read more

Dr. Waldman has exactly what I was looking for in a dental practice. Cleanliness, professionalism, understanding and education is what my family and I appreciate most from Dr. Waldman and his staff. It is nerve wracking trying to find a new dentist after moving to the East Bay where I had a family dentist my entire life in the North Bay. Dr. Waldman and his staff are very friendly and accommodating which helped put my mind at ease. They took their time for an initial consultation and we're able to show me photos of problem areas where they recommended work. I've gone in for a deep cleaning and have had a couple fillings since and am quite pleased with the service. Their office and chairs are very comfortable. They offer high quality headphones to help the time pass during dental cleaning. They offer nice details like lip moisturizer during cleaning and a hot towel afterward. They've been real good at applying the right amount of anesthetic, whether topical or injection, where I hardly notice work is being done on my mouth. Scheduling actual dental work has been pretty easy and we get in without having to wait too long. A great place that I definitely recommend to others as well. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Waldman for about 25 years. In all that time I have received excellent dental care. His hygienists are all friendly, gentle and competent. I have had several crowns and fillings and Dr. Waldman's work is about as pain free as any dentist can be. Also with other dentists I have had to go back multiple times to get the crown adjusted for a proper bite, his seem to work from the get go. read more

Have been going to Dr. Rob for years, now my kids go to him. It's nice to have someone you trust with your whole family. I hated the dentist growing up. Had horrible experience and was petrified. Dr. Rob is gentle, kind and very knowledgeable. He never tells you that you have to have something done, he offers it to you and gives you his opinion, which is that of a professional. No pressure. Dr. Waldman is a throwback to yesteryear! Although his methods are modern, his style and practice is classic. We've been seeing him for almost 5 years and never have been disappointed. I like to know what is involved in a procedure at the dentist. From a cleaning to a crown I want to know what is going on. Dr. Waldman knows that of me and explains everything he is doing. Every cleaning is different and it is amazing how much information Dr. Waldman provides regarding the health of my teeth. Just like changing the oil in your car on a schedule, having Dr. Waldman (and his staff) maintain my dental health is a must. I am fortunate to have good teeth, I put full faith in Dr. Waldman's dental knowledge and service. 3 years ago, I went to him on an emergency. I had a triple root canal that was failing. He assured me the tooth could be saved and referred me to an specialist, who broke my tooth upward and had to pull it. They still charged me for the root canal so Dr. Waldman waved his fee, which was nice. But now I've lost a molar and the specialist still charged me. Prior to that, I had another tooth that had a root canal at Western Dental. They injected too much solution into my gums a paralyzed part of my mouth. I told Dr. Waldman about it and how they offered a free crown but I was terrified to go back to them. I also told him my dental insurance was coming to an end and would not be able to let him take care of it. 3 years later, I have another emergency. I played phone tag with them as they were busy. Finally, his receptionist tells me that he's referring me to Western Dental and admits that because I hadn't been there for maintenance or recommended treatments, that they did not want to see me. It took them three weeks to tell me they did not want my business. I lost my temper and told them off. They called me right back to tell me off. When the receptionist wasn't getting anywhere with me, Dr. Waldman, who had been listening in, started to yell at me. I tried to tell them that they could have told me three weeks ago and that referring me to Western Dental was insane and insensitive. I have never heard of a dentist turning down a patient in pain because they did not keep regular appointments. He just talked right over me, like a child. So be it. They could have saved me 3 weeks of pain and to referring back to the worst dental experience of my life with one of the worst clinics, Western Dental was wrong. Then again, Dr. Waldman assured me my molar could be saved and had me pay 900.00 in the end by having it pulled after it was broken. Maybe Western Dental is not the worst. At least they tried to fix the problem at no cost to me. If they were so busy to see me, then what was he doing listening to his receptionist yell at a patient and taking the time to argue with me while I'm in pain and obviously frustrated at their hand? What kind of a doctor does that to a human being? I had a reason to be upset. They couldn't let it go. They had to call me back to argue. Maybe I should have sued him when he lost me my tooth. It is a rare thing in this day and age to be able to say that you have a life time relationship with anyone, but that is exactly what I have had with Doctor Rob and his wife, Marci for the past 27 years that I have faithfully coming to them. Visiting them is like visiting family. I never worry about anything when I slip into their dentist chair because I know that I am in good hands. Doctor Waldman is always polite, informative without being pushy about selling me his services, does great work to keep my teeth healthy, and he always has great stories to tell. I grew up Clayton and Walnut Creek, always seeing Doctor Rob and now I make the journey from Danville so he can take care of my young daughter and I. Sure, there are many dentist who are closer to where I live, but none could care for me better than Doctor Rob & his wife Marci. Their hours are convenient and they even are open on Saturdays. I've been seeing Dr. Waldman now for over two years. A couple of good facts to know is that the office he works out of is shared between him and another doctor, Dr. Nelson. The office is open 5 days a week and on Tuesday and Thursdays, they have appointments as late as 6:30 pm. And another good thing to know is that they open 1 Saturday a month. These are wonderful hours if you work or have a busy day/week schedule. However I don't recommend Dr. Waldman. My family has been seeing Dr. Neson, the other dentist for over 20 years now. I only hear wonderful things about him. Dr. Waldman talks too much and tends to repeat himself over and over. He often reminds you how much insurance money you have left for the year and what extra non necessary things you can have done. Some examples are: changing perfectly good fillings, and root canals when indeed are not the called for. This dentist is out to make money bottom line! Good dental office with good staff, Dr. Nelson is straight forward. He lectures about good hygine. Don't ask for Dr. Waldman. Not necessary to spend 3hrs in a dental chair for a simple filling that should take less than an hour. read more
