I have been a regular patron of Roasters 'N Toasters for a few decades. This week, I placed a catering order selecting one of the options on their website for breakfast items. I chose the Executive Continental, which was advertised as serving 10. The platter that arrived was woefully inadequate for 10. There were five bagels, already cut in half, and a few miniature croissants, a few miniature Danishes (2" across ), and some kind of sweet breakfast bread cut in slices. Normally, I rave to others about the generous portions and high quality of food on their menu. This wasn't worth the cost and was definitely not enough to serve 10, especially considering one dozen fresh bagels can be purchased for about 20 dollars. I will limit my patronage to eating in from now on. read more

Such a great place for bagels and coffee! I've been here many, many times in the last 10 years, and each time, it proves to me that this is where I need to be ordering my bagels, lox, and schmears from. The bagels are always PERFECT - chewy, but not hard. The lox... mmm... so good. One of the best I've had anywhere! Super easy ordering / pick up, and with two locations, it's extremely convenient! Food was so so, the quality was not the same as before. The coleslaw was spoiled, tastes horrible! Service was not great. I had to wait a long time for the waitress and when she finally came acted in a rush not friendly to me, but very friendly only with men. She kept going and sitting at their table having private conversations with them. She never once came and checked with me to see if everything was ok. She was too busy conversating with all the different men. When I was ready to go she never came to bring me the check and after waiting a long time had to go pay at the cashier. Since the change in ownership, the portion sizes of the food are ok but the prices have been increased. For example, two pastrami sandwiches now cost a total of $55. When you order a sandwich, it is served on its own without any sides. However, if you choose to add fries, they are placed on top of the sandwich, creating a crowded presentation. Don't bother eating here, go to Muffin Tin or Roasters N Toasters near Dadeland. We were sat immediately, but then waited 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. We watched 3 other tables of 6+ people get sat and immediately had service. Finally a nice young lady came over and helped us, even though we weren't in her serving section. She was the only positive to our experience. Food was cold and subpar. $75 for a breakfast for 3 people that was barely edible is disappointing. Sad, just sad. read more

Wayne R Today, I went to Roaster n Toaster. Hear the falls. I been there many time but this visit was disappointing. I ordered the pastrami and Swiss on an everything bagel. When I got home, the pastrami was so thin and dry and stringy There was no mustard added to the to go order it was just awful. I could've gone to Publix and bought some pastrami and made a better sandwich than that my $20 was wasted a this Roasters and toasters. It over priced and quality was poor. I would not recommend this deli to anyone. If you do make sure you look at your sandwich before leaving the building. Things are to expensive to waste your money that was dry and tasteless. I usually go to location off of 98th street but today we stopped at this location. Not sure if it was because it was early but there was no wait. Great customer service and as always great (lots) of food. We shared the kitchen sink omelette for $15.95 which comes with sides . Our sever took it upon herself to separated the omelette since we were sharing :) that was very nice. read more

Stanley refused a service animal he asked us to leave while we were already sitting and being served by a very polite and well ADA informed waitress whom we confirmed with before entering our service dog if it was ok to have my mom who's got an anxiety disability to come in with her service dog. While we were sitting a very rude and non sympathetic, Stanley came to throw us out claiming that the dog required a vest I tried to explain to him the ADA Law yet he would not have it didn't want to hear us out said dogs not welcome with out a vest. Anyone who's for a A advisability and or a dog will not be welcomed. I have already started an awareness with the ADA COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT TO look INTO this discrimination. My mom became very nervous with all of this when all we were looking for was to have a quiet family breakfast. It's unfortunate that some people just hate service animals. read more

Roasters is a longstanding pillar of the community. I go there, along with many others, several times per week. The staff is great, the food is almost universally great. Unfortunately, after 10+ years, management decided to change their we supplier for a core product, pastrami. Used to be Hebrew National navel cut for many years. Now a dry, weakly flavored brisket. Based on my 4 or 5 days in the restaurant every week, many frequent flyer locals are complaining about this change. Some won't eat it because of the dramatic drop in flavor and texture. Please, management will hopefully take notice and reverse course. If we took a poll of your customers, I think the outcome would be different from the back room management decision. I was in the area past lunch time and stopped at this shopping center where I found this place. The personal are very casual and friendly. They gave me a coleslaw salad and pickles. I ordered the 1/2 Soup and Sandwich, chicken noodles with onions and Tuna. The soup was hot and fairly fresh, it felt made in house instead some places that it's clearly a Publix can. Our friends brought us here and the experience was very pleasant. Seems like a very family friendly and community environment. The staff was great, our server Kathy went above and beyond. Literally top notch service! So much so that I was taken back. Overall, service was a 5/5. As for the food, I cannot say as much. I ordered the bagel sandwich with corned beef, Swiss cheese and egg on a onion bagel. Well when it came out, the top bagel was onion and the bottom was everything. So weird! Didnt put it together. Stuff under the bagel. Lox a tiny amount good for a three month old. Too expensive and tip for getting stuff like bagels. As much as I love the food here, this place is getting a bit ridiculous for what it is. We paid over $50 for a simple breakfast for 2 people. Black coffee alone was $7 for 2 people; that's simple black coffee, not a cappuccino or a latte. My simple breakfast sandwich priced at I believe it was $7.95 turned out to. Almost double that because I substituted sausage for turkey sausage and asked for egg whites. That's egg whites not beaters. Why do I get charged more to have the yolks from the egg it's still the same egg... I don't mind paying for a good breakfast or even for making changes and substitutions as long as I'm told In advance but doubling the price for egg whites and turkey sausage substitute is a bit much read more

I just tried to eat at this Roasters and will never make that mistake again. After an hour of not getting our food, I dared to ask if it was coming out. People who sat down 30 minutes after us had their food and we did not. The only answer was "we have a problem." When I tried to ask what the problem was so that I could figure out if it was worth waiting any longer, management was incredibly rude. I understand that issues arise and mistakes are made in restaurants. But the only appropriate response here would have been "we are so sorry we will make sure your food is out ASAP." Instead the host/manager was rude to us about it and made no effort to fix the problem after we wasted an hour and are now starving. we will never go back. read more

This is my first time at roasters and toasters I've heard a lot about it and all the good things I've heard are true. I got the everything bagel with egg cheese and sausage. The bagel was nice and fresh eggs were cooked good my only complaint was that there was one piece of sausage cut in half between a whole bagel. The waitress was very friendly and help me through the menu they have a early bird special throughout the week if you get there before 9 AM. I enjoyed the bagel so much I bought six more of different varieties to take home and some cream cheese I will be returning for the bagels my favorite. Had breakfast with my daughter today. Waited 10 minutes to be seated, normal for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The waitress was loud and abrasive. She wasn't very patient and seemed annoyed that we weren't ready to order when she first came to our table. After bringing our coffee she asked again if we were ready, we hadn't even opened our menus. To teach us a lesson she ignored us for several minutes even though I saw her standing by the kitchen not too busy. After ordering our food came in an ordinary matter of time, however she did not bring my toast and bacon with my eggs. The potatoes were cold to the touch and when my toast and bacon arrived they were both cold. My butter would even melt on the toast. Lastly when the check arrived it was $52.00 before tip.
