I cannot speak highly enough about this place!!!! So being from LA and moving to Miami, we were really missing our local butcher shop (Butcher and Booze in Glendale). A friend from here recommended I try this location out and although it's not exactly the same, the menu items are SO delicious. Not only that the staff is super helpful and informative (glad you guys went to the Dolphins game because we finally took a W). I always get the French onion soup burger. You'd think it's sloppy and wet but THIS burger.... They almost make sure that the buns aren't soggy. That cheese is unreal, the meat is phenomenal. I really could go on and on about this place. We also love getting the chicharron and the wings aren't bad either. DO NOT forget to check out the fridge. It sets the vibe in there. They have Tripping Animals and other few local spotted breweries in their fridge as well as truffle butter, beef tallow, chimichurri and other fun items to cook with. Really don't sleep on this place. I can't wait to be back!

Hash brown bowel, sorry was hungry so I took a few bites

A hidden gem in Palmetto bay! The food was amazing! The service even better. This is were meat eaters go to satisfy their need for quality meat and a friendly environment. The new expansion makes dining a comfortable experience. I give it two thumbs up

It's a three star place. But I like them. So I give four for that. Burger is good. I think it's a smash style. So medium well is the norm. But it's not moist. Needs more grease. Fries were ok. Probably out of a bag. Second sandwich we ordered was the cheese steak. It was ok. Bread was eh. Steak was good. Two tables out front to sit. And a Stand up bar with no chairs. They said they are expanding. So maybe they will have more seating. The fresh meat looked great. Next time I'll purchase a few steaks to make at home.

Such a nice deli and the service was lovely! I heard such good things about their cheeseburger so i had to get one! We also had the montreal smoked meat sandwich. The cheeseburger meat had amazing flavor and they used the perfect cheese to melt on top! I loved the soft and fluffy buttery potato bun and the pickles were amazing. I had a tangerine kombucha to wash it down. The montreal smoked meat had delicious flavor, but we wished the slices of meat were thicker. I also had their brown butter cookie. the dough is pretty good, but I think it needed chocolate chips maybe. I ordered 4 italian sausages from their deli and used it in my schiacciata, it was a wonderful and flavorful addition!

It was a Saturday afternoon, and after a long morning of shopping and feeling seriously hungry, I remembered seeing an ad online about a new place in the Palmetto Bay area that mentioned fried apple pies. Fried apple pies! I haven't had one in years, so that was enough to get me in the car and on the way. The spot is called Babes Meet & Counter, and it's tucked into a small shopping center just off South Dixie Highway (US1). When I pulled up, I noticed a couple of tables out front and quickly realized it's more of a takeout-style place. We stepped inside and were greeted by a gentleman behind the counter who welcomed us right away and explained the concept. It's part meat market, part short-order kitchen, so in addition to being a counter meat market and able to pick up quality cuts of meat, you can also grab a bite to eat from a simple, focused menu that includes burgers, sandwiches, and a few other dishes. I ordered the Babes Smash Cheeseburger, added an extra patty for good measure, and it did not disappoint. The meat was top-notch, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. Erika had the Cuban sandwich, and we shared a side of cheese fries and everything was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. I was really looking forward to trying one of their fried apple pies, but they had already sold out earlier that morning. No big deal--we'll just make sure to get there earlier next time. While we were eating, the owner Joanne arrived and immediately started chatting with customers, making her presence felt in the best way. We didn't get a chance to talk to her directly, but you could tell she's hands-on and proud of what she's built here. Joanne also owns Babes Meat & Counter in Pinecrest, which already has a strong reputation for quality meats and great food. With this new Palmetto Bay location, she's brought that same passion and quality to a more casual, grab-and-go setting. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and there was a steady flow of customers, which is always a good sign. I'm already looking forward to going back, not just for the food, but to finally get my hands on that fried apple pie. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great meat, great food, and a genuinely welcoming local business.

Not often does one bite immediately release endorphins all throughout your body and leave you in a euphoric state. But this was exactly how I felt after taking one bite of Babe's Burger. Located in Palmetto Bay, Babe's Meat & Counter restaurant is both restaurant and a butcher shop. I went on a Saturday morning and parking was easy and ample. As we headed over there I already scoped the menu and knew what I wanted to try. My wife asked me, "isn't it too early for a burger?" of which it was an easy no. When you first walk in you are welcomed by a beautiful selection of meats from Ribeye to Wagyu. It's a quick reminder this aint Vegan country. Staff was quick to answer any questions and give us their suggestions but nothing was swaying me from what I was looking for. We ordered the Poutine Fries, the Ham and Bacon Croquettes, Hash Browns with Bacon and of course Babe's Burger. I had heard the owner was Canadian, so I knew the Poutine Fries were going to be legit. And they did not disappoint. The homemade gravy was spot on and the cheddar cheese curds were soft and gooey. The Ham and Bacon Croquettas come one per order along with chicharrones. I ended up ordering more because they were so delicious. Perfect balance of creamy inside and crunchy exterior. They say bacon makes everything better and this is no exception. My wife also loved her Hash Browns. But let's get to the star of the show here, Babe's Burger. Perfection is sometimes found in it's simplicity. No gimmicks. Just quality. The bun, soft and buttery. The pickles, looked and tasted homemade. The cheese, classic American. The burger patty as expected from a butcher shop, perfection. And the only condiment added was a mayo and sriracha mix. No lettuce. No tomatoes. Just a simple burger and in there lies the magic. Simple ingredients. Executed to perfection. It goes without saying the burger was amazing. I walked out and all I could think about was that burger. Upon my return I will try other things but that burger will be on my list everytime. Kudos to Babe's Meat & Counter. You knocked it out of the park by a mile. An absolute must try whether in the area or not. Definitely worth it!

Where do I even start... We recently saw this restaurant on Instagram posted by a local food critic. It's a bit out of the way from home, but the food looked so good online that we decided to make the drive and give it a try. This is the first Sunday that they've been open, and we stopped in on our way back from church. I am so absolutely glad we did. Parking here in the strip mall was great. There are some really cozy tables out in front of the restaurant, and a stand-up counter inside. We sat outside as it just happens to be a beautiful day. We started off with an order of the pork rinds, which are absolutely fire. They are fried perfect and seasoned perfect. Just an awesome, light snack, and a great way to start the meal. On to the food. My son had the Reuben, which was made with peppered pastrami and was absolutely on point. My other son and I each had a cheeseburger. He had regular mayonnaise, and I had the chipotle mayo. Both were cooked to perfection and hit the spot. To top it off we shared an order of cheese fries, and the cheese sauce is on another level. We ended with a chocolate chip cookie that really has no equal as far as I'm concerned. What a perfect cookie. The service was exceptional, the food was amazing. Overall, a five star experience and five star food. A+++++ across the board.

This was my second visit to Babes Meat & Counter, and it somehow topped the first. The first time I came, I tried the burger -- and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor, definitely one of the better burgers I've had in Miami. But on my second visit, I went with the Reuben, and honestly... it blew me away. The corned beef was tender and flavorful, the bread was perfectly toasted, and the balance of tangy sauerkraut and melty cheese made every bite better than the last. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality and made with care. Highly recommend this spot -- whether it's your first visit or your fifth. Everything I've tried so far has been a hit, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more. Babes is definitely a hidden gem worth checking out.

The service here wasn't bad. They were very good at introducing promotions and answering questions. The Ambiance gives that of a fast food grab and go place with an home style dinner touch. The burger was exceptional . Overall not a bad place to eat

Ask the Community - Babe's Meat & Counter

Do you sell MARINATED skirt steak, ready for grilling?

From time to time, but our USDA Prime & American wagyu meats are best salted, grilled and then complemented with our house made chimichurri after cooking.

How often do you have rack of lamb in stock?

We keep it off and on, but can usually receive following day if ordered.

Do you guys sell Beef Ribs? The fat ones?

Yes, we can bring in both beef short rib plates (meat on top of bone) cut to whatever spec you prefer or left whole in a 3 bone plate. We can bring in the less popular beef back ribs (meat in between bones) as well.

Has anyone tried their beef hotdog before?

    Ohhhh, yeah!!😋😋😋

Do they have top blade steak and pancetta by any chance?

We don't typically stock top blade, but can fabricate upon request, typically 1-2 days notice. Unfortunately out of pancetta at this moment, but typically stock either guanciale or pancetta. Will be recieving more next week.

An employee told me that it would take 5 minutes to make, but I had to wait significantly longer. My husband and I agreed that this arepa was a low quality. The cheese inside was cold, and the arepa overall did not taste good, so we ate only part of it. I rate it as 2 stars. A Slice of Dominican New York... Right Here on Miami Beach…read more I've been coming to Ocean Deli since 2020, and I honestly can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review. Maybe because people from New York know one universal rule: when you find a great neighborhood spot, you keep your mouth shut. You don't want your hidden gem becoming the next place where people wait in line because somebody on social media "discovered" it. Ocean Deli is one of the last authentic neighborhood delis left on Miami Beach. In a city filled with luxury hotels, trendy brunch spots, and restaurants charging resort prices for breakfast, Ocean Deli quietly does what it's been doing all along--serving great food, quickly, and at prices that still make sense. This is where the people who actually keep Miami Beach running come to eat. Hotel employees, construction workers, delivery drivers, city workers, first responders, and the locals who somehow managed to survive Miami Beach's rising cost of living. If you want to know where the real locals eat, this is it. The owner is Dominican and from the Bronx, and that New York Dominican bodega culture is written all over this place--in the best possible way. Walk through the door and you'll swear you just landed in Washington Heights or the Bronx. Bachata and merengue are playing in the background. The smell of fresh café con leche fills the room. The grill is always working. Conversations bounce around the deli like you've walked into someone's neighborhood hangout instead of a business. The ladies behind the counter are unmistakably Dominican--friendly, hardworking, efficient, and they keep the line moving without ever losing that neighborhood feel. The sandwiches are outstanding. Fresh bread, generous portions, and made the way sandwiches are supposed to be made. No unnecessary gimmicks. No tiny portions with fancy names. The café con leche deserves its own mention. Strong, smooth, and exactly what coffee should taste like. If you've spent any time in New York's Dominican neighborhoods, you'll recognize it immediately. The Dominican breakfast and lunch plates are equally impressive. Simple, authentic, flavorful comfort food that fills you up instead of emptying your wallet. Speaking of wallets... Ocean Deli might be one of the best values left on Miami Beach. While restaurants a few blocks away are charging you like they flew the eggs in first class, Ocean Deli is quietly serving quality food at prices that remind you Miami Beach wasn't always built just for tourists. Just know what you're walking into......This isn't a sit-down restaurant. You walk in, place your order, take your receipt to the register and pay. Then you wait a few minutes while the grill works its magic. When they call your order, you grab your food and you're on your way. That's how it's done here. Fast, efficient, and without all the unnecessary fanfare. Ocean Deli isn't trying to sell you an "artisan culinary experience." It's selling great sandwiches, authentic Dominican food, excellent café con leche, fair prices, and a little piece of Dominican-York right here on Miami Beach. Some places sell an image....... Ocean Deli sells breakfast and lunch. After six years of coming here, I wouldn't have it any other way. Just do yourself one favor: when you find yourself surrounded by tourists paying resort prices for an average meal, remember there's still one place on Miami Beach where the locals go. Now You Know
