La Culotte! The cow's rear is so succelent, fatty, and juicy! I'm talking as if I was a butch man looking at an arse of a woman. Seriously, this Gaucho Ranch - doesn't matter if it's Uruguayan, Argentine, or whatever it may be... but they really do bring in the top-of-the-line cuts of beef that if there was a Miss Universe for Steaks, this would be the Miss Venezuela candidate! (This is where I would normally brag, but for the sake of the review, I'll go on) Trimming the fat before cooking is like slicing through butter. Rub it in some sea salt (other stuff may be added). And following Pablo's wisdom, I simply (SIMPLY) put in the trimmed culotte, fat-side up, into the oven that has been preheated at 400 degrees F. And 30 minutes later, it's done? (Broil the top if you want a little more crust) Yup, you can forget the BBQ grill if you're living in a condo. Pablo has all the secrets to cooking every cut of steak using the grill OR the oven so be sure to ask him for any advice you need in order to impress your guests. And get this... four thin slices of the culotte filled me up instantly - it was so juicy it would make the French proud, so flavorful it would make the Argentine proud (or any other nationality for that matter). My knife went through it so tenderly as if I was a master swordsman. And the juices trickled down all over its sides - not one part overcooked, and not one part undercooked. They say that the most important part of having an excellent beef dish is really not in the seasoning, sauces, but in the meat. Grass-fed is the way to go - it's healthier (more Omega-3, less chemicals and radicals, etc) and definitely tastier. And it doesn't hurt that the beef here are for a reasonable price, knowing what you get! The good thing about the meat here is that you know it's fresh, and often times fresher than what you get in the butcher shop, since the meat at Gaucho Ranch is vacuumed packed - it lasts longer and is kept clean from outside environment. So... go get that culotte (or any other type of beef), and get their garlicky and somewhat spicy chimichurri for the punch in your tongue that melds so well with the juicy beef. So, yeah. Ok full disclosure, I'm slightly hesitant to write this review because I want to keep this secret pop up to myself , but to be fair, everyone should know about how fabulous it is. This, for me, is the best of Miami. Coming from a more conservative northeast city, we didn't get the experimentation and willingness to make a restaurant out of nothing that Miami offers on a regular basis. So it's not a restaurant but a small purveyor of fine meats in a tucked away meat boutique in an office park in little river. The meats are shipped fresh from Uruguay and they work with a few other high end specialty shops to put on this one a month pop up where they break out the grills and amidst smoke and sweat, convert the side parking lot into a gaucho party. They go for about 4 hours and for $30/person or $50 couple you will be treated to a smorgasbord of all you can eat grass fed freshly grilled meats, sausages, steaks, rib eye, filet. It goes on and on. You can also enjoy fresh cheese from Mimmos mozzarella, a delicious salad and for a bit extra, you can buy wine. Or you can bring your own wine and salads, scope out a spot and just fill up on meat. Dinner is at communal picnic tables and it's just easy and friendly. It can get toasty outside with the grills and smoke but form that price and that quality of meat, you won't find better anywhere. Love everything about this. They only offer pop up barbecues every other month or so. But you can buy the amazing meat they serve, anytime at their store. We do. It's delicious but somehow grilled in the open air among friends, it tastes better. read more

Grass feed New York steak and organic pork sausages is a must try. We bought also rack of lamb but its a bit pricey ($60.00). The quality of the meat is outstanding, Gaucho Ranch specializes in grass feed beef, but it also carries pork, chicken and turkey. The prices are much more than what you'd spend at Whole Food or The fresh market depending on what you get. There is a really good selection. I promise you won't regret it !!!! read more

Healthy "darn good" beef! MIA locals should stop by Gaucho Ranch's "Grill Boutique", coolest little place on NE 2nd. These guys are so passionate about their Uruguayan meat, that it's contagious. I got to know them through one of their "meat tasting" events where I sampled all the cuts and ate my carnivorous soul away. The taste and texture of their meat is noticeably superior, and may I also add, ALL NATURAL, grass fed, omega rich, hormone free, good for you, HEALTHY BEEF!!! My absolute favorites for a special occasion are the strips, the organic chorizo, and YES, that chimi-churri sauce everyone keeps on talking about. In a nut shell, I enjoyed so much the event, and the meat is so "darn good" that I buy exclusively from them since. They cater private "grilling soirees" locally, and ship anywhere in the US, so pass the word around to any out of state "health-conscious carnivores". Being a big fan of South American cuts of meat, it has been pretty much impossible to find any grass-fed or organic steaks and sausages. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to discover the mecca of healthy meats - Gaucho Ranch. More meat boutique than butcher shop, this hidden gem in the ghetto on NE 2nd is a must stop for any serious grillers that care about how their meat is sourced. It's a bit pricey - $11 for a 12 oz entrana but you are getting grass-fed goodness. Pablo the owner and Uruguayan beef master walked me through the various cuts they sell and even provided some very helpful grilling tips. We bought 2 entranas, a flap steak, organic pork sausage, homemade chimichurri, and grilling cheese and had rave reviews at the tailgate. The grass fed meat is delicious and lean. They have meat tastings once a month - wood fire grilled meat and wine for $15. I'm definitely looking forward to going to the next one. If I am feeding a big party I will probably still head to La Estancia due to the price, but for that special occasion I will definitely pick up the good stuff at Gaucho Ranch. So I finally had a chance to drive up to Gaucho Ranch to use my Dealtificate that was about to expire. I have not yet grilled my steak so this review is purely related to my shopping experience. Their store hours aren't exactly 9-5 friendly, they close at 6 PM on week days and on Saturdays they are only open a few hours as well. The store, once you find it, is clean, bright and the staff very friendly and English speaking (hallelujah). The Dealtificate stipulation was "Beef and grill sides only". I find it sort of irritating when vendors add additional restrictions not included in the fine print. I wanted ground Wagyu beef and was told that wasn't part of the Dealtificate. Last I checked Wagyu is beef, is it not? Asked whether I could get regular ground beef instead, they had just run out. So I ended up getting skirt steaks, which is not my favorite cut of beef. Everything is frozen and already vacuum sealed so you can't get the exact quantity you want, i.e. a 2 lb versus an 8 lb brisket. Other options are also limited, no single fillets, only a $90 whole tenderloin. No sirloin whatsoever. At these prices I will pick up Bison at Whole Foods or Publix instead. read more

Vegetarian steaks. For real. Not being a huge meat eater, the beef at Gaucho Ranch is the closest you will get to a healthy piece of meat. All of their cuts of beef are from cattle fed a natural, pesticide free diet of grass and flowers. You can find their steaks in select resturants in Miami, online for delivery or stop by their shop tucked away off NE 2nd Ave for some immediate gradification. Call it undercover... It's low key casual fun-friendly gathering around wood-burning grills with flavorful cuts of grass fed beef. The smell of BBQ, choice of meats friendly atmosphere is unique. Let me start by saying, I am not a carnivore. However, I was quickly converted after finding this little gem at the Pinecrest Farmers Market. Where has this meat been all my life? First off, the meat is grass-fed and imported from Uruguay. Don't get what that means? Thank goodness for the adorable sales girl who explained to me the grass fed difference. Basically, it means no hormones, no anti-biotics, more ultra important Omegas-3s and it is light and less calories. Not to mention, it is flavorful and delicious. Consider me sold! They offer different cuts (the Brazilian delicious cut picanha, New York Strip Steak, and my personal favorite the flavorful rib-eye steak) and sides (organic chorizos and morcillas (blood sausage). All I would recommend in a hear beat and are perfectly packaged and ready to be grilled. I was lucky enough to be invited to their tasting parties ('An intimate grass-fed meat tasting') since I am on their e-mail chain. Stop what your doing and sign up for that. Perfect event to do something new and different with your weekend. Nice ambiance and informative, you can feel the owners true passion for the grass-fed meat experience. This is a great little meat market/grilling store in Little River. While the location is perhaps not ideal, this place is a real gem. The owner Pablo, has done up his little warehouse space in a really inviting fashion. The interior modern and clean and filled with Uruguayan and Argentinian items for sale, not to mention the giant stainless steel refrigerators that hold the precious meat. Everything you need for grilling is right in this shop from fuel (natural lump charcoal and even cords of seasoned hardwood) to the parilla. I've got a couple of grills already though, so I come here for the meat. Gaucho Ranch specializes in grass feed beef, but it also carries pork, chicken and turkey. The prices are little more than what you'd spend at super market (but probably as much or less than whole foods depending on what you get), but needless to say the quality is higher and there is a really good selection. I've come here on a couple of different occasions and I've sampled the skirt steak, the morcilla (they have an excellent brand of blood sausages, I assume from Uruguay, but the best I've had), ground beef, ground pork, and the poussin. I have to say I am really impressed they have poussin (young chicken). They are about $7.50 each and each bird serves one, but they are amazingly tender and easy to cook (and hard to find). They are perfect for a special dinner quick. My wife and I bought 4 of the little birds and ate them for dinner two nights this week. Pablo the owner is super friendly and Gaucho Ranch even delivers (Tuesday and Wednesdays I think), so that's an option if you live far away. A friend of mine who is a big meat eater, like myself, had told me about gaucho ranch. He told me they have great meat and they throw a little get together once a month or so to showcase their beef and have a cookout. I was game so I got myself on the email list and I was sent an invite. I went and got to sample lots of meat that night. I got some ribeyes and some chimichurri from them for the 4th of July. I marinated them in the chimmi the night before and grilled them up the next day. they were great and the chimichurri they make there is awesome. full of garlic with a great bite to it. Their sausage is great too. If you get on their facebook, they have specials all the time and their mailing list. It's a fair price for the quality you get. I'm not going to say I get all my meat from there. But, I will say that when it counts, that's when I get it. when I want a really good meal or when I'm having friends over, I'll make sure to get it from them. It's sort of difficult to find at first, its located in that last lot towards the back. Thankfully, there was a crate with a bunch of boxes that said 'Uruguay', which led to the right location. Inside, they have a shelf full of Argentine products, such as mate gourds, Yerba mate, Organic mate, etc. Behind their table sits a cooler with some of the best beef in the world - straight from Uruguay. * FYI, all of their beef is from Uruguay, which means one thing: GRASS-FED. * We went on a Friday afternoon, there was a young girl there who showed us a menu of all ther meat products - they have free-range, Organic chicken, too. I came during Labor day week, so there was a special going on for 20-25% off all their meat products. It was a nice gift for my dad, who being Uruguayan, brought him a little closer to home. I can't make asados, but I have a Foreman, which means I'll return for ground beef so I can make hamburgers. What can I say, I'm no Gaucho - I've been Americanized to the point where I'll throw beef in the microwave. In all seriousness, check out Gaucho - it's greaaaaaaat! read more

The environment is just perfect after a long day at work .We tried several different cuts of natural beef including rib eye and picanha.
