First visit but definitely not my last! The Chicken Pesto Bowl was out of this world! It was so fresh and delicious. Looking forward to having it again. The service was quick and the servers were very attentive. We ate outside because the weather was perfect. Can't comment on the inside since I only popped my head in to let them know we wanted a table outside. I only remember that it was small and Mom&Popish, they definitely have a good following as there were a good amount of people dining there and more went in as we were enjoying our lunch. If you want fresh Mediterranean in west Kendall, look no further, Pesto Cafe & Grill is your place.
Great food and service! So many options to choose from. Food tastes homemade and staff was very friendly. Owner was very kind and we can't wait to go back to try other things from their menu! We ordered pancakes, omelette, and breakfast sandwich! Came with hash-browns on the side. Delicious!
Update: It's been 4 years since I posted that review and I have to say it's only gotten better. We love Pesto and try to go at least once a month. We still love the breakfast but have since tried their lunch entrees and platters and they are all delicious! I love the Grilled Pesto Chicken Platter and my husband loves the Shawarma Platter. I'm also obsessed with the Greek Omelette. Honestly everything is good! No A/C issues since that first visit lol Must have been an off-day. :-)
Two of the things attract me to try a new place are local neighborhood restaurants and family owned businesses. This one checked off both of those boxes. And so I have now visited three times. Or I should say two since one was a delivery order. This is a rather long review so in case you don't wanna read the whole thing, here's the summary. This place is great. Food is great. Service is great. Restaurant is beautiful. Done. Now everybody else, please read on. I will start with the delivery order. I had a desire for falafel for lunch and found the excellent reviews of this particular restaurant and figured I would give it a try. Did the order through DoorDash and received it much quicker than expected. The falafel was exceptional. Shaped a little bit strangely because they overloaded the scooper to give you more, it was expertly seasoned, freshly made, and delicious. Definitely within my top three in Miami and being right near my home will sit at number one on my list. The fact that they were able to get the order out to DoorDash and arrive at my home still warm, gets it extra points. But the delicious flavor, crunchy on the outside soft on the inside, and even a delightful aroma was really overwhelming. Paid for six got seven! Recently paid for five elsewhere and got four. Again extra points for a wonderful portion. But then look at what is surrounding it. Excellent smoky flavored eggplant. Delicious lentils and rice. Exceptional hummus. Fresh pita. Not a fan of tabouli to begin with so I won't comment except to say it was as good as it gets. Overall, I loved everything on the plate and loved everything about it. Came here for lunch one day with my wife. She had a falafel sandwich which I didn't take note of as I should have because I was so overwhelmed by my delicious lamb Shawarma platter. Again with all the best sides and the baba ghanoush was as good as any I've ever had. But the lamb was so moist and savory and tasty. I've gotta say that their attention to flavor is evident in everything that they serve. And then my other visit. This one was breakfast. Boarded my puppy last night so that my wife and I could have a romantic evening out for her birthday and picked her up this morning and wanted to take her for breakfast. Was thrilled to see that pesto Café and Grill as outside seating. I ordered the lox omelette and a side of bacon. I had coffee and they brought her a nice bowl of water. It does not come with a bagel so there is an up charge which I found mildly annoying but I wanted to try the full experience so I ordered anyway. It also comes with hashbrowns, which I wasn't particularly interested in, but it came with the meal. They make their lox omelette with onions and capers, and I noticed some green onions as well. They also use cream cheese, which I'm not generally a fan of. Since moving to Miami, I see way too much cream cheese being used in way too many ways. What is with this Miami obsession with cream cheese? Some places even put it in my sushi. Blasphemy. Oh but that's not part of this review perfect; for this review I am going to reverse everything I isually say about cream cheese because the flavorful way that they blend this imtoy the omelette as a condiment and not something that overpowers the other flavors was spectacular. I could not enjoy it more. The bacon was a huge order and was cooked perfectly. I hate sloppy greasy bacon. It was as if they knew exactly how I would want it served. Or maybe they just have good taste and serve it like how I like it. My waitress, Kayla was exceptional as well. But the service did not end there. Multiple people from inside came out periodically to make sure that I was happy outside and had everything I needed; that my coffee was full, and my water glass was filled and my table was cleared to unused dishes. They even made sure my dog had water and kept an eye on her water bowl so that it did not get too empty. Who does this? I'll tell you, they do. Eat here I know you will get great food made from the best ingredients and cooked perfectly and served treating you like they you as a customer. Even after I paid, they continued to come outside and make sure I didn't need anything else and fill my coffee without pushing me to leave and allowing me to enjoy my wonderful breakfast. And then to relax and enjoy the beautiful day out in front of their restaurant and be pampered. I didn't just feel like they cared, I realized that they really do. I will be back. Often. I will order from DoorDash from here. Often. And I will recognizing this on social media and recommend it to everyone I know. Often. Because you do not come across a place like this very often.
Stopped here for the first time for lunch/quick bite. The service and food were great! The owners gave you that local neighborhood restaurant feel. We had the Greek gyro and will order it again. The portions were big, the gyro was seasoned very well and the seasoned fries had a nice kick. We will definitely be back!

Oh my goodness this place is unbelievable, as it pertains to the yummy yummy food, and phenomenal service. The owner came and checked on us twice just to make sure that we were doing great. The food is delicious and prepared with such desirable colors. Our party of three cannot get enough of this place. Everything about this place was incredible. Truly wow. The service was super friendly and accommodating from the moment we walked in. We arrived around noon for brunch and were told it would be a 30-minute wait, but we were seated in under five minutes. As soon as we sat down, the staff was attentive. Even while I was still on the phone, they made sure we were taken care of. Water and orders were taken right away, and the food came out quickly too. Our server recommended the Greek flatbread and I have to say, it was one of the top three meals I've ever had. So flavorful and perfectly textured. The lamb was delicious. The fries were baked so they weren't as crunchy, but definitely a healthier option. But flavor was there. I didn't try the chicken sandwich, but my boyfriend gave it a 10 out of 10 and he's picky. The pancakes were good, but pretty average. Overall, everything was delicious and the ambiance was cute and casual. I definitely recommend this spot and I'm already dying to go back.

On this visit, I tied their Shawarma Wrap with chicken and their Waffle with 2 Eggs and Bacon. The Shawarma Wrap was generously filled and had a good and fresh flavor. The Shawarma Wrap comes with fries, which are crispy and seasoned. The waffle was thick, the eggs were perfectly cooked to my taste, and the bacon was perfectly crisp. Overall, I enjoyed Pesto Cafe and Grill. The service was attentive and kind. I will be back again.
We wanted something healthy and we were in the area. Yelp did not disappoint. I had the lamb Shawarma wrap with Tabula and hummus. It was amazing and so much food. I was able to divide it into two meals. My boyfriend had the buffalo chicken wrap, which was equally delicious as I stole a bite. The chicken was cooked well and the breading was just perfect. Flavors were amazing. We also tried the chocolate pistachio baklava, which was way too sweet, diabetes in a bite, and the pistachio baklava was delicious, sweet, but not overly sweet like the chocolate one. Service was great and quick. Everyone was super friendly.

5 stars! We come to Pesto Cafe & Grill at least once a month, and it has become one of our favorite places. The owners are always so warm and welcoming and genuinely enjoy interacting with us and their other customers. Their hospitality is a big part of what keeps us coming back. The food is also spectacular. My usual is the Eggs Benedict with extra crispy hash browns and a cappuccino, while my daughter almost always gets the chocolate chip pancakes. We've also tried the chicken shawarma wrap, chicken pesto wrap, omelettes, waffles, and French toast, and everything has been delicious. We always look forward to coming back, seeing the owners and staff, and enjoying the wonderful customer service. Pesto Cafe & Grill is truly a neighborhood gem! read more

i did not know what this diamond in the rough had in stock for me and my family... paola was an amazing server and she was super helpful with what the menu items had. the food was so quick to be served too! LOVE THAT THIS IS ALLDAY BREAKFAST TOO! more restaurants need to be less restrictive with their breakfast/dinner menus like this! The seating area was small, so I imagine this is more of a to go experience. But it still felt comfortable and it was just us that were there sitting. Need to go back and try their shawarma pizza. read more

Tried Pesto & Grill after seeing great reviews, but our experience fell short. Seated promptly and service was good. Had a number of tables inside and a few outside. The pesto chicken wrap was watery, and the shawarma wrap had an odd color and unexpected spice. The tabbouleh cucumber salad was an unusual combo, and overall, not worth the $18+ per meal. read more

I was looking forward to trying Pesto Grill Cafe thanks to the amazing reviews it has. We arrived late Saturday, 45 minutes before closing time. The place is small but looks super clean. While we had an amazing experience with the service, the food was a little bit disappointing. We ordered the tabbouleh salad, fried kibbeh, falafel, veggie grape leaves, and hummus with pita bread. The tabbouleh salad was big! Like enough for 4 people. It was fresh but lacked flavor. Salt and more lemon and olive oil for sure. The fried kibbeh was freshly fried but lacked consistency and seasoning big time. Honestly, they were very bland! The veggie grape leaves on the other hand seemed old, hard, and cold. The hummus and falafel, on the other hand, were delicious. The hummus was creamy and super tasty! And the falafel was crunchy but soft on the inside. Super delicious! The downside was the pita bread though. We ordered 3 but what we got was some time of burger bread I guess. We asked our server and she told us they run out of pita bread. It would have been nice if she had mentioned it before ordering but it was late so I understand. Overall, I was expecting more base on the great reviews it has. read more

This place has quickly become my go-to spot! The food is priced just right, with generous portions that leave you satisfied. The service is impressively fast, and everything I've tried has been delicious. Their pancakes and breakfast sandwiches are absolutely amazing, and the coffee is always spot on. I absolutely love this little place!!! I feel like their cappuccino deserves its own post because it is just sooooo good! I have on many occasions come in just for a quick fix, it's delicious every single time. This little spot never ceases to surprise me, I just tried their shawarma chicken wrap for the first time (I normally come for breakfast), and OH MY GOODNESS! So so flavorful, beautifully crafted, perfect combination of spices Everyone I recommend this hidden gem to becomes instantly hooked! The prices and portion sizes are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is fantastic! Coming back to try the chicken pesto wrap soon because my in laws can't say enough great things about it! read more

Have been here a few times and each time I leave happy and full. The service is amazing. We've had a few different servers and all are attentive and friendly. I've ordered the bagel sandwich with egg, bacon, and cheese. It's our favorite egg sandwich in Kendall. The hash browns are crispy. We paired it with a cafe con leche which they make with cinnamon and it's the perfect touch. For lunch, I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. The wrap had a lot of chicken and veggies. The fries came seasoned and they were pretty good. Would have preferred them a bit crunchier but that's a personal preference. read more
