Came here for a work event so this review isn't based on the sit down experience or bar service. Keep that in mind. I still would rate this place pretty high because of the wonderful experience we had. There was probably 50-75 from my company and everyone felt like they were being taken care of. There was plenty of servers so it didn't feel too busy or waiting for food/drinks. The food, great. We only had appetizers/tapas and they just kept them flowing in. Every time food was finished / done, the next plate was coming. They were on top of their game. This was my first experience here and with it being so close to my office, I look forward to coming here again. Thank you Roanoke, see you soon! Personal Review: 8.4/10

I came here before the Bulls game and was dead set on the steak frites but it wasn't meant to be. I started out with the Casablanca (with no grapefruit) and ordered the steak frites medium rare with well done fries. The drink was refreshing and tasty but the meal is where things took a turn. The meat was a bit tough, fatty, had no flavor, and overall wasn't very good. The fries were perfect but I couldn't get with the steak and unfortunately, sent it back. I tried to do it medium but got the same result. I was hurt because everyone's pictures of this dish is what led me in here but they couldn't get it right! Maybe they were having an off night? I have to commend the staff as they were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was to my liking. While they couldn't nail the steaks, they excelled in customer service and care. I'll def make a return visit next time in the area.

Good meal, good service. Drinks could have been better a little bit , but nice establishment located in one of the Marriott's. New England clam chowder was excellent- really good flavor depth. Jumbo crab cake had some decent flavors. Green circle rotisserie chicken was delicious, perfectly crisp skin, great flavor profile, however truffle mash was a bit bland for my taste. Apple cobbler topped with some ice cream was the perfect finish of the meal. Overall- good experience.

Oh man! $45 prie fix meal special. I wanted to check it out and it didn't disappoint. I sat at the bar and order an old fashion to start. Saw the prie fix meal and got it. First course, I chose the New England clam chowder. It was quite tasty! There were a lot of clam and decent size clams too. It wasn't too creamy and full of potatoes, which is a plus in my book. For second course I chose the rotisserie chicken, and oh man! They give you half a chicken. You heard me, half a chicken. It was so much. The sauce on it was delicious. The chicken was moist. The veggies were on point and plentiful, good veggies too. I truly enjoyed it. For my last course, I chose the strawberry gelato. It was a huge portion. I was not able to eat all my ice cream and ate 70% of the chicken. I recommend getting this if you can come on time. It's totally a steal. It could probably feed 2 people fine for dinner. Ended my night happy and went to bed right after the satisfying dinner.

Excellent service! Isaiah took fabulous care of us. Wonderful brunch! The food was stellar. The cinnamon roll was gooey deliciousness. I had the lamb hummus and it was phenomenal. The lamb was so tender, the hummus was perfect, and the toasted bread with it was seasoned well and a nice touch. I had coffee with Frangelico in it and it was very tasty. My best friend enjoyed her avocado toast and caramel latte, and my boyfriend loved his prime rib hash skillet and cappuccino. Really cool restaurant and decor. Fabulous chandeliers and lighting. Located on the ground floor of the Residence Inn in the Loop, great location. Fun relaxing vibes and I'll definitely return.

Roanoke was downstairs in our hotel in Chicago. During our stay we enjoyed takeout, dessert and dinner! Our server, Leo, was so fun and made our experience so great! The prime rib was pricey, but definitely worth it!! Literally melts in your mouth! The vanilla gelato is the best dessert. Also, highly recommend the Expresso martini. Overall great experience and food!

I popped in here to have dinner before going to CIBC Theatre for a show. Luckily for me it was still happy hour. I quickly ordered a happy hour drink then I ordered the salmon entree. They also have a prefix show menu that is $45 for 3 courses. I was short on time so I did not think I had enough time for 3 courses. The food was prepared pretty quickly and it was good along with the drink. I would recommend.

Popped in here on a Sunday afternoon while in Chicago for a work trip. Great solo dining spot! I was able to open my laptop and get some work done as it was not busy. The food was yummy. I love a salad + fries combo and both were tasty. The waitress was very nice and said I could stay despite her shift ending and me continuing to work. I appreciated that! The bathrooms are upstairs and around the corner which isn't convenient. Maybe this is typical for a city? But otherwise, everything else was great!

Stayed at the hotel above the restaurant! Came here for lunch one day and saw the menu and decided to come back for dinner. The place and service was VERY nice! I accidentally left my wallet and the people working kept up with it where they had it ready for me to pick up the next morning. I like that you can see the chefs in the back, next time I might eat closer so I can get a better look. A lot of people were there watching March Madness, but it didn't give bar vibes which is nice.

Craving a steak, but also trying to be healthy? Get the steak salad! The salad has it all: flavorful slices of steak cooked a perfect medium, sliced avocado, chopped egg, blue cheese, pickled artichokes, tomatoes and of course, lettuce. And it's huge! I could barely eat half even though I wanted to eat more. My fiancé got the prime rib and ordered it medium rare. As you can see from the pic, it's really rare, which wouldn't have been an issue, but it also was tough. This was disappointing. I tried some of the lobster ravioli that was overstuffed with chunks of lobster! I've never seen so much stuffing in a ravioli before. I think there were even some lobster morsels in the dish outside of the ravioli. I thought it was a bit bland. The house cheddar biscuits were really good. I'd pass on the mezze platter. Some winners and some not so much. Get the house cheddar biscuits and the steak salad. Service was ok.

First time here for breakfast. The coffee is really delicious and smooth. The food was great! Decently sized portions too. The restaurant was quite empty when we went on a Sunday morning so seating was not an issue at all. The staff was lovely :)

Nice old American style upscale restaurant. Was with a group of people so didn't get a chance to take any pics for you. Had a couple of items off the menu.... The lamb hummus was delicious. Braised lamb (fantastic) on hummus base and flavored with mint infused olive oil (exquisite). Top it onto the Zaatar pita bread...phenomenal. Highly recommend. Also ordered the chicken Parmesan which was mediocre. Don't bother with this one. Would try something different.

Went to this restaurant tonight, cause it was close to the Nederlander Theater, where we were going to see water for elephants we never went to this restaurant before this was the first time didn't know it was part of a hotel but we went there and we ordered salmon and french fries and brussel sprouts after we had house salads . Everything was top-notch. The menu is not very big. It's not like you have 100 items to choose from. We're done for what we had was all terrific. The waiter's name was Isaiah. He was terrific and the manager took a picture of us which I'll show you I'm wearing my Fourth of July shirt .

All the premier dinners come with salad, cheese, fondue, and the chocolate fondue - You are just choosing what protein you would like. The Prince Geja combination has a little bit of everything. However, we most liked the seafood which includes lobster and the scallops were to die for! Also the beef also cooks well. Favorite dipping sauce included the pimento mayo, chimichurri, and garlic butter. The cheese fondue is quite rich and the bread is quite filling so maybe get as much cheese as you can on each piece of bread. The chocolate fondue, I think is actually the best course as the Belgium chocolate melts so well and has a decadent but not overly sweet flavor. It pairs well with all that is provided for dipping, which includes poundcake, rice Krispies, strawberries. They also have some liquor that they light on fire at first so you can roast the marshmallows. It is such a well thought out experience. Service flows very well from two waiters who take your order set up your fondue pots for each course, but be prepared to spend at least 2 hours on this experience. Check out the Groupon but also I read a review that they just tack on the extra $50 so it's not really too much of a savings. Not sure if this is true.

They were quick to refill items and answer any questions we had. The location is classic fondue restaurant, cozy and romantic. However, also perfect for catching up with a friend. Back Again - Gemini Pt 2, but this time for brunch!…read more I enjoyed my first dinner experience here so much last week that we had to come right back to try their weekend brunch. From the start, the hostesses were inviting and lovely. The restaurant is very pretty, warmly blending a modern style with a touch of classic French bistro elegance. I'm mostly so impressed with how versatile the restaurant actually can be, shifting seamlessly from an elegant, upscale dinner setting with its beautiful U-shaped marble bar to a bright, whimsical, and enchantingly airy brunch setting. The fully opened bifold windows are adjacent to the pergola-topped patio, letting a glorious, cascading breeze drift through the space to create a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow and a lively weekend energy. Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered: Super Green Vegetable Salad: The kale, broccoli, avocado, asparagus, and peas were crisp and fresh. We loved this so much during our first dinner visit last week that we had to order it again for brunch! Spectacular! Nova Lox Platter: The wild salmon topped with diced red onion, capers, and hard-boiled egg crumble, served with an everything bagel and a side of chive cream cheese, was excellent. French Onion Frittata: The rich gruyère and caramelized onions were wonderful. If you're a French onion soup lover like me, this is a can't-miss!! Definitely will be reordered and often. Fantastic! Daily Omelette: Ordered from the special menu, featuring black truffle salsa, mascarpone, and Calabrian chile honey. It was absolutely phenomenal, perfectly cooked, and the flavor combination was incredible. Our server, Sarah, was excellent and made the experience even better - we even share the same name! The management team was also incredibly warm and attentive, stopping by our table to welcome us back. Returning twice in one week says it all. This restaurant has made it into my regular rotation and is hands down one of my new favorites!

The restaurant itself is pretty as is the outdoor dining area if aesthetics are important to you. Service is also great. Food wise...good portions overall. However, all I want is a little bit more: a little more butter for the delicious bread, a little more time in the oven for the Brussel sprouts to soften them up, and a little more cream to accompany the carrots. Also, a few more croutons in the Caesar salad! All that being said, the steak was well seasoned and who can ever object to a tasty side of fries? Dining here, you're getting a healthier experience as opposed to heavy seasoning, butter, sauce, etc, but it's good overall.

That is to say: I am not throwing words of praise like "one of a kind" and "phenomenal" around lightly. Both are different and still amazing. Sparrow has a vibe straight out of the 1920s. The decor, signage, use of color, and absence of screens or TV's all contribute to the theme. The music is also appropriate and plays at the perfect volume to be pleasant without forcing one to raise their voice. I tried the Green Daisy and a House Old Fashioned. The Green Daisy was boozy and had some herbaceous notes. A little tartness and a little sweetness helped balance the drink out and make for a phenomenal sipper. I loved the creativity with this one! The House Old Fashioned was also well done, assembled with quality ingredients in balance with one another. Nothing wrong with a well-executed classic. The prices are more or less reasonable considering the location and overall market, with bevies costing around $16. The bar staff is excellent! Very friendly and welcoming! Final verdict: A spot where I can say come for the drinks and stay for the vibe. It's the kind of place where walking in you are transported a century into the past. I'd never been to Willow Room and liked that they had a four course dinner menu, with items I liked. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:15pm. PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.
