Lovely spot for baked goods and coffee! Got a iced vanilla oat latte and coldbrew with coldfoam. Both tasted great.

Service was great, I love the vintage style aesthetic with a hint of modern. Today I got their vanilla lavender latte, per the employee all their syrups are made in house. So good!

We found this joint by chance looking for coffee and a quick bite to eat off the 126 from somewhere that wasn't a chain. Roan Mills is a family owned and operated farm, mill, and bakery in old downtown Fillmore, CA that uses regenerative and certified organic farming practices that are sustainable for the environment. Their freshly milled flours are used for their breads and baked goods sold at the bakery and at local Farmers Markets. For such a small brick and mortar, they have a little bit of everything; breads, pastries, pies, muffins, cookies, sandwiches, spreads, dips, soups, produce, whole and milled grains, gifts, and a gourmet drink selection. They also had bread and their Mock Boursin out for sampling, which were really good. Everything is made fresh onsite and some of their additional gift items are sourced from local vendors. Please note that they are only open Wednesdays - Saturdays 8A-3P, so plan accordingly, it's worth checking out if you're in the area.

Morning bun & almond croissant were amazing

I was in Filmore for work for a day and Im happy that I stumbled upon this place-it's coffee shop meets bakery meets Sunday farmers market!! The pastries were delicious and I was so excited to find some locally milled flour for my sourdough. The only thing that I didn't love was the matcha, it tasted okay but not super high quality. I am a bit of a matcha enthusiast so it may have just been me. The overall vibe and locally made goods made up for that though. I will most definitely return next time im in town :)

Great coffee, and egg salad, no place to sit that I saw. It reminds me of an upscale farmers market in a good way. Togo I also got the veggie quiche and Sheppards pie, choc covered cherries and short ribs ragu, as well as fresh chives, mint and spinach, and their granola. All of it was delicious farmed fresh and had the homemade quality that you are paying for. I got an iced vanilla oatmilk latte and it was smooth and delicious. Wish there were more farm to table places to buy prepared food in Ventura county will definitely be back

This is such a great bakery. Lots of fresh breads with limited ingredients (not all those additives) and pastries available. We stopped in for some coffee and grabbed a loaf of bread. The coffee was pretty good. The bread is excellent! The shop is do cute with lots of goodies. The one thing I would avoid is the egg salad sandwiches in the refrigerator. I grabbed one of those it was made on their San Francisco sourdough bread, which I absolutely love. However the sandwich from the refrigerator was soggy from the egg salad, which was a bummer because the egg salad was delicious, but the soggy bread ruined the sandwich. My husband had the same thing and his bread was also very soggy.

Now I have yet to visit the shop, but my sister who is a big fan of this bakery has sent me pictures of the shop and the aethetics closely ties in with the packaging I have pictured. It is sweet, cute, bright and whimsical. The Loaf Bakery is produced by Okayama Kobo, a bakery chain founded by Tsunetaka Kawakami, that is open in Anaheim, DTLA, Honolulu and Laguna Niguel. The Loaf has the same quality of baked good, made with flour from Hokkaido, Japan, having no additives or preservatives. It is recommended that you eat it the day of since it has a shelf life of a couple of days. Talk about freshness! I recently visited my sister and her family and she had a box to share with me. We had the following: Red Bean Salt & Butter Roll: Simple and delicious. Highly recommend, especially to those who like red bean filling. Not to sweet (a high compliment given by Asians when talking about desserts.) Chocolate Emoji: Soft bun with custard inside Amande: Croissant with a cookie topping, topped with chocolate chips. Textures are crispy but not as flaky where it would be a mess. Matcha Azuki An Pan: Earthy tea taste with sweet read bean filling. Overall, I love what I have tried. I would love to visit the spot for their savory pastries and coffee.

So, we tried a bunch of items, and the only reason I'm giving this place 3.5 stars is because I think around here it's probably the best you're going to get. The custard buns were 3 stars. Didn't really like the bun very much. Custard was average. Yuzu tart wasn't very good. The pastry wasn't very flaky and the yuzu was meh. Didn't like this pastry at all. The best thing our group had was the strawberry croissants. That was 4 stars. Fresh strawberries and the cream was good and the croissant was flaky and buttery unlike the tart. I also had the matcha tiramisu, not pictured because I ate it but then threw it away. It came in a little plastic cup. Overly sweet and just not very good. That was 2 stars.

They have different honey options and a lot of samples too in case you want to try before you buy. We always try new honey and end up purchasing a new flavor each time. They have different sizes so you can buy a small batch if you want to try something new or they also have small tubs if you use a lot of honey. My mom likes to buy the tubs and pour into smaller containers and gift it to her friends when she visits. Especially in colder months when everyone is making teas or just getting sick from flu season. They also have honey candy, candles, soaps, etc. so it's fun to browse around. This time I took the lavender honey and I've been adding it in my coffee and matcha at home. Gives it a subtle hint of lavender and sweetness from the honey. I don't usually enjoy lavender but I feel like the lavender is subtle and not so perfumy. Not something I would've gravitated too organically, but I had the sample in store and here I am. They also have some spicy honeys which might be good for pizzas or wing sauces? Worth checking out.

I love their pastries, but the recent price increases do make them a luxury item. Kouign Amann are my fave, but any of their croissants are also great. I haven't really tried their drinks. Had a Hot chocolate at the Camarillo location, and they even had a little latte art in the milk foam. A beautiful space to enjoy, but pricey overall. Service is usually fine, not overly friendly but that is also due to being so busy that they need to move the lines quickly and efficiently.
