This is the magazine that published the shout-out to Sconehenge Fine Bakery!!
    Ashli M.

Sconehenge helped me out in a pinch when I made a last minute decision to host a semi-formal afternoon tea. I placed an order for 2 dozen scones in various flavours, and all were received by guests. In fact the scones and customer service were so great I actually wrote into TeaTime magazine ( the May 2023 issue inspired my tea party) to give a shout-out to this fabulous bakery. Keep up the good work!

Popped in for a quick bite, then a treat at Mr. Softee, just down the street before hitting the outlets. I knew Hubs would be keen on just a plain hot dog, which he ordered and enjoyed, but said the bread - THE FRESH BAKED BREAD! - is what really elevated it. He wants to return and get a sandwich on THAT BREAD! lol I hadn't seen any photos of salads on Yelp, but let me clarify they are fresh, delicious, yummy, HUUUUGe and fairly priced! Service does, indeed, seem to be handled by a Mama and a Nona. Be patient, speak clearly. I think I talk really fast when I order, so I got a side of oil & a side of vinegar when I had requested ranch dressing. No biggie, just took it back in and they got me the ranch. Inside has A table and 2 chairs, but was a bit warm, so we took advantage of the patio seating with lots of shade, plenty of room and a fresh sea breeze. Perfect for people watching as well! We grabbed a punch card cuz we could easily see ourselves stopping by again to get road trip sammies. I also have an eye on that homemade pistachio baklava.... Cheers! "CC"

I love a good Italian sub and remembered that this place is in Camarillo and decided to get them through DoorDash one day. My review unfortunately has to leave out customer service and atmosphere as I didn't go inside. I will say they are a great spot to order from as their delivery is A+. My order was all made to order correctly and packaged nicely for the transport. Easy peasy if you want a sub and some sides to go. I would rate the food overall 4 stars and was happy with my meal. -I started with the Italian sub which was a solid 4.5/5. The bread was soft and fresh. The Italian cold cuts were loaded up and it was a generous sandwich. Loved the sides and dressings. Lots of good sandwich shops in Camarillo and this one should definitely be added to your list. -Macaroni salad is a solid 5/5! I saw my friend Jess B. Gave their macaroni salad a rave review so I had to order it. It was in fact delicious and I'll go back here again just to grab some sides of this. Super tasty and if you like a mayo based macaroni salad this one was so good. -Personal preference, skip on the deviled eggs. I like a more mayo forward deviled egg and these were heavy mustard forward. Some people will like that and then maybe these are for you. I just felt like the filling lacked a creaminess that I like and since I don't love mustard I wouldn't get them again. I know deviled eggs are a labor of love so I do appreciate them having these on their menu. Lombardos was a solid 4/5 in my book as the sandwich was delicious and I'd definitely come back for that macaroni salad. I need to check them out in person next time.

From borscht soup and varenyky to stuffed cabbage rolls (and yes, I've tried nearly everything on her menu), every dish is fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. I had the best conversation with the man inside at the deli who took my order yesterday. The cashier was very dry and bland when I tried to be friendly and chipper when I walked in and while checking out but he didn't seem to care. I ordered an Italian Sub with some minor adjustments. I removed the Mortadella, provolone, and red wine dressing, I added genoa salami and garlic aioli instead with the ciabatta bread. I am still in awe of the taste and flavor and freshness. I finished half before work and the other half after because the sandwich was HUGE. It was worth every penny and it was a lot more affordable that I expected. The deli was in a grocery story type location so I was able to walk around and look at snacks and find something to drink as well. The ambiance was quiet, it was during work hours I stopped by so pretty much the entire plaza/Village was a bit empty. I will most definitely be coming by every-time I'm in the area. The baguette had a great crust although the bread itself was a bit dense. Even the very tasty wine sauce wasn't doing enough to soften the body. Maybe a good spread of aioli or mayo? 1/2 of the sando was satisfying enough for lunch and the 2nd half was even better at dinner because the baguette absorbed moisture from the lettuce and tomatoes. Stupid good. Bread's legit, meat's piled up like they're trying to protect you from starvation trauma, and everything tastes fresh like somebody's nonna is in the back judging your life choices. One bite and you're like... yeah ok, I get why people act feral about this place. But the line? Chaos. Not "organized deli line," more like "everyone just kinda vibes near the counter and hopes they get noticed." You'll see one dude who's been standing there 8 minutes pretending he's fine but he's clearly spiraling. And there's always someone ordering like it's their last meal: "Can I do the #7 but no onions, extra peppers, sauce on the side, cut it like triangles, and tell it I'm proud of it?" Relax, it's a sandwich, not a therapy session. Prices aren't cheap, but neither is happiness, so whatever. Overall: 4.5/5. The sandwich portions are hefty and they are well loaded. We felt like we got our money's worth in freshness and quantity. The veggie sandwich was a bit bland and needed a better balance of ingredients. But the chicken parmigiana sandwiches were packed with flavor, as was the Italian cold cut sandwich. My recommendation for this place would be to improve on the quality of the bread they use as it lacks flavor or richness. Put those ingredients on real sourdough bread or focaccia and it would be a very memorable sandwich. To the owner: we visited your lovely home town, as mentioned in your business profile, while we were in Rome a few years ago and had the most unforgettable pizzette rosse while there. Beautiful lake scenery and weather. Interesting coincidence : )
