Our short but sweet visit was very nice. The husband and wife owners were so very friendly and appreciated our business. We tried a couple of specialty muffins which were both a bit undercooked, but the cappuccinos were wonderful. When we returned the next day for another cappuccino and they asked our opinion of the muffins they seemed to appreciate our honest thoughts. They thanked us and said they should have cooked the muffins longer since the mornings were just starting to get colder. Again, the coffee is great and I am sure all of there pastries, sandwiches and more are also wonderful. They seem to take a lot of pride in their culinary creations. I visited the Bear Claw Bakery in Pine Mountain Club yesterday and I had an amazing experience. The worker was so polite and she logged into the wifi for me. My fiance and I ordered the medium 3 topping pizza with 2 sodas special for $16.99 plus tax. This was a fundraiser for the Peak to Peak Charter School. We had the pepperoni, sausage and pineapple pizza. The pizza was cooked perfectly, pineapple was just right and the crust was crispy and tasty. I would definitely try again in the future. read more

I was in town for a local motorcycle event and visited the bakery for a sweet treat for myself and my husband as well as road snacks for our way home. The cherry turnover was perfect to split with my friend so I didn't feel so bad eating it. It was flakey deliciousness that my little heart needed. The snickerdoodles were crispy, chewy, sweet and everything my husband needed in a cookie. He also likes to share so I had one of those too. Definitely get the cookies. They make pizza, sandwiches, empanadas and so much more. The regulars love them and I can see why. Conversation was like you're talking to a family member you hadn't seen for a long time. This bakery is a favorite spot to visit when coming to Pine Mountain Club. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and happy. You truly feel they enjoy what they do and know customers by their faces and names. We only come up to Pine Mountain Club two or three time a year but they always remember us. In addition the food and pastries are delicious. I love to get the Cappuccino muffin and my husband really enjoys their empanadas. We just go their breakfast sandwich with everything and loved it. It was delicious. They have a few tables outside with umbrellas and a birds nest that made its home in one of the umbrellas. I like going there when the owner George is there . He's super friendly and always welcoming the people at the village . The reason for my 4 star n not a 5 star is his wife . I feel as she got upset when I asked her if she could put my pastries in a box separate from a few others . The reason I asked her that is because if you're familiar with the bear claw pastry it is dipped in or glazed in some kind of syrup so I did not want my other muffins getting wet n soggy . She still managed to placed everything together then I asked her again for a box and she gave me a bag for those syrupy bear claws . It was my mother-in-law's 90th birthday and we were trying to do several different ways to tell her how much we love her on this special day. From over 2000 miles away, George became our knight in shining armor and worked with us to select delicacies that were perfect! Today we visited the Lilac Festival in Pine Mountain Club and had lunch at Bear Claw Bakery. The restaurant was extremely busy because of the festival, and the inside is fairly small, so there was quite a line both ahead of and behind us. We ordered a pastrami sandwich and a pepperoni & bell pepper pizza, and were told the wait would be about 20 minutes. When our food arrived, the pizza was made with the wrong ingredients. We sent it back, and the staff apologized sincerely and immediately offered to remake it. While we waited, we started on the sandwich -- and it was absolutely delicious. The bread tasted freshly baked, the pastrami was flavorful, and the lettuce, tomato, and onions were incredibly fresh. Soon after, the owner personally brought out the corrected pizza, apologized again, and thanked us for our patience. The pizza was worth the wait -- loaded with flavor, fresh toppings, and a perfectly crispy crust. Despite how busy they were, the customer service was outstanding. We will definitely be coming back. I've seen 3 bakeries give it a shot in that location over the years. These guys are a little more than a typical bakery serving more than just croissants. It's all freshly made every single day. Serves good food and they're friendly. The inside kept the features of the previous owners so it's familiar still which is nice. There's seating outside which is nice in the summer. 8/30/2024, My first time here visiting in Pine Mountain Club, enjoyed visiting some of the quaint shops in the local community center. Prices are about 30% to 50% more than you would expect to pay in Los Angeles or Orange County but it's understandable here in the mountains the prices due to the various factors; but don't let the sticker price keep you away from enjoying some escape from the LA noise and traffic.
