A nice rest for those of us out touring on motorcycles. A fair selection of meat, a few sides (the advertised pastrami and potato salad and we're out of both). Food was good but they oversized and rely upon the sauce to provide flavor. I prefer a rub and no sugar on my meat. Pepsi only, no Diet Coke. In small town with limited food selections they're the best the town has to offer. Basic fare. They could improve by actually having what they advertise on the menu, by kicking it up a notch with some additional side selections or adding chicken as a healthier meat option. read more

We've been to the Lebec location a couple times and decided this Valentine's Day to take a little trip up the mountain to try this one out! We heard they brought back our all time favorite Mango Habanero wings and we were excited to see if they were as good as we remembered and they 100% were! The wings aren't tiny little wings like BWW has had as of late, these are meaty and fully sauced wings. There were people playing pool in the back bar / lounge area and some sitting at the higher bar stool type tables just enjoying conversations. They have cards and uno, and dominoes available to play if those are more your speed. My fiancé even got a fish taco because he really loved those at the other location and he really enjoyed that as well! Lori was so sweet and brought us a bowl of warm water and lemon to wash our hands after the sticky wings and that was so thoughtful and much appreciated! So excited there's a solid BBQ spot up in PMC -- this place totally hits the spot. As soon as you walk in, the owners are right there to greet you and take your order. They're super friendly and actually take the time to chat, which makes the whole experience feel really personal. The place has a relaxed bar vibe, and there's even a jukebox, which is a nice touch. The BBQ is made fresh every morning, and you can really taste it -- everything was flavorful and cooked just right. It's a bit on the pricier side, but honestly worth it. Plus, I got to shoot some pool while waiting for my food, which made it even better. Only thing I'll mention is that the mac and cheese tastes more like Alfredo pasta than your usual cheesy mac -- but it was still really good in its own way. I'll definitely be back. A hidden gem up in pine mountain that we stumbled upon after a staff day away in the mountains. We saw hungry als when we were about to come down off the mountain and we were thrilled it was open (on yelp it said weds it would open and today was a holiday so i thought it was closed). It was a small interior with some booths and tall tables, along with a bar and a pool table. We had 6 people in our party and so we did 3 double meat meals that came with 2 sides each and rolls. We got the brisket, tritip, pork ribs, and We got some extra hot links and Mac and cheese and we had plenty to eat! We had extra sides at the end we took home. The owners were super nice and brought out a salad for us to share. Al came out and chatted with us and he talked about all his experience all over the country with bbq and how his secret is this pure salt from Mexico that you just need a Little bit to go really far for flavor. You can definitely tell! It was not overwhelmingly salty and the meat was so delicious, perfect soft texture, moist, delicious flavor, you didn't even need that much bbq sauce in my opinion. All the sides were also delicious- the beans, Mac & cheese & rolls were spot on. We will be back and be bringing friends! Also I'll be stopping at their other location right of the 5 (run by Al's son) whenever I'm driving the grapevine to LA now! read more

Nice addition to PMC! I called with questions, the lady I spoke with was super nice and even texted me their menu since it's a bit different from the Lebec location. We got pulled pork Mac & cheese, side of hot links and slaw. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable! And yeah the food was really good. The pulled pork basically melts in your mouth. What an awesome BBQ restaurant!! Nestled in PMC village sure by pine trees is the best BBQ spot I've had and I've had it all over the country!! I ordered the 2 meat plate with tri tip and ribs and sides of Mac n Chili beans! Food was so good I wanted to cuss!! Hands down best ribs you'll find! Perfectly smoked and seasoned and of course fall off the bone! Tri tip exploded with flavor!! Another bold statement is best Mac n Cheese I've ever had and I've had a lot! Don't believe me go check em out and see if I'm lying!! Also the owners were very friendly as well! Al comes by every table to chat, I told him this is the Best BBQ I've ever had!! He smiled with pride and said I hear that a lot but I appreciate it!! What an awesome response!! Worth the drive from where ever you're at!! Can't say enough!! Was here a few days ago. It was just okay. Nothing exciting about it and also not a diverse crowd at all which left me a little uncomfortable. My pal got tri tip here and then tried it somewhere else and these guys fell short a fair bit in comparison. Staff was nice enough but don't feel the need to revisit them anytime soon. read more

This place looks like it would be delicious besides the fact that the smoked chicken plate was undercooked gooey and pink. The guy walked out and said "wow that was a 5 pound chicken, and the girl said "oh he's young and can handle it." Well he didn't consider the weight for him smoking it. I got sick. It took me out for two days and I have a sour place in my mouth. Learn your craft dude -- my life is in your hands when I'm putting your work in my stomach. Chicken is one of the things that must be cooked. I thought they were pros and maybe this was how Smoked chicken was to be, but the soft pink and a little goo towards the bone I thought may be juices was actually my recipe for disaster on a two day sore throat and plan cancelations, set backs, and disgruntlement. You've got to do better. The Mac and cheese was upper mid, coleslaw was mid. You can't impress Texans that easily, no way is this guy a professional. read more

Great lunch! We got tri tip, brisket and pulled pork sandwiches--all excellent. Delicious tender meat, soft roll and great sauce. Our sides were equally mouth-watering--baked beans, Mac n cheese and potato salad. Portions were so generous that neither of our teens could finish their sandwich, but they both took it home for later. The new interior was clean, bright and comfortable. Service was spot on. I think everyone reviews the Frazier Park location, which is fine, but the Pine Mountain Club Hungry Als is on point! We got their pork ribs and brisket sandwich and damn were they great!
