Difficult for me to make it to downtown during this food truck's operating hours. Have only tried their food one time. I probably did not order one of the best items off their menu. That's what happens when I do not read Yelp reviews beforehand so I know what to order!! Cheeseburger is what I bought cause I was craving one at the time. It wasn't bad, but nothing special either. In N' Out is better. (3 stars) Garlic fries was my choice for the side. Now those were some yummy fries!! I have no problem recommending those flavorful fries! (4 stars) Whenever I have another chance to catch them, I will try some of their other items recommended by my Yelper friends. Til then, I am giving Curbside Kitchen 3.5 stars!

I've been dying to try this place. I was really looking forward to trying the breakfast burrito but I couldn't say no to the special of the day. Today's special was the Chilango curbside sandwich. I love the idea of it and it was executed perfectly. The service was fast and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The Chilango Curbside Sandwich: Queso tamale torta (I got the pork tamale), bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cilantro, and Curbside salsa. It comes with avocado & guacamole, but I requested it without. I love the way the bolillo was toasted. The tamale had such a great texture and flavor. It was perfect. I love food trucks and this food truck adds so much more to Bakersfield. I almost felt like I was in big city for a moment.

They changed the bread in the torta. It was hard.

My co-worker and I seem to go here at least once a week! I do not check in every single time I go, but I should! It is near my work so it is a convenient drive, but the food being really delicious is the primary reason of why we keep coming back. The food truck is located across the street from the Padre on the corner of H St. and 18th St. It is on the parking lot of an old mini mart that just recently shut down. If there is no parking on the little lot, there is a parking structure right next to it and there is no charge to park there. If you are in a hurry, you could call in your order and they will have it ready when you get there. I have tried the burgers, fries (regular, garlic, and chili cheese), tortas, tacos, sopes, and huaraches. They are all very good and the presentation is amazing. I eat with my eyes first before I devour my food. It takes a lot of strength for me to take a picture of it first to post and show you guys what my food looks like. If you are in the area, it is a must try! I am never disappointed with their food items.

I am extremely disappointed in Curbside Kitchen. They keep getting worse and worse. This is how all my tacos looked from here.

Never again will I be returning here. Their customer service is going down. I got 3 tacos and they were so chinsy. There was hardly any meat on them and they were cold. I posted a pic in the photos, at least until they delete it. Back to the real taco trucks I go.

I have been following these guys on instagram for a few months and finally got the chance to swing by for lunch. The special was arepas, but by the time we got there those were gone so I settled for a Carne asada sope and order of garlic fries. The sope had great flavor with salsa that had some heat. Can't wait to try the tacos next time. Sope's are $3. The Garlic fries were an additional $3 and could have easily been shared with by at least 2 people. They were very crisp and a little too salty for me and I would have liked a little more garlic on them. But, Oh how I do love a good french fry and my motto is "leave no fry behind" but I tried with all my might and left a few behind.

    Our first time! Great food!

I had a custom vegetarian burrito with cheese, hash browns, grilled tofu, egg, and salsa verde #drool ..maybe the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! --and I'm Mexican

Two of my co-workers invited me to lunch but since they know how much I Yelp they asked if there were any places I would like to try out. Since I've seen many Yelpers check out The Curbside Kitchen I figured lets check it out. When we first arrived there was no one else in line but after ordering the Mercy Hospital employees started filtering over. I take a glance at their menu and I automatically see the Jjuliette which is a double burger with pastrami. There are other places I've been to in Bakersfield and Delano and I absolutely love the Pastrami Burgers so I had to try theirs. I'm a fool for Chili Cheese Fries as well so I ordered those. Juliette Burger - 2.75 Stars to be exact. You hear double burger and expectations should be where the patties are a good size and juicy but this was neither to be honest. It tasted like they didn't season the patties and the patties reminded me of McDonalds. The pastrami was good but not great, the spices in it just did not burst in my mouth like I expect from pastrami. Besides those negatives, what could have probably brought this burger up was if they didn't use just a regular bun. Again, the bun reminded me of McDonalds, I would like to see if maybe they used another type or even toast the bun. Chili Cheese Fries - 3 Stars would suffice and it is the combination of the chili with the cheese and it was well balanced there but next time I will request for onions on top. The fries itself was good but I would have loved it if they were bigger sized fries like from Tommy's, but none the less I would order again. My co-workers ordered the San Diego Chicken Sandwich and regular fries and the special which I can't remember the name but I posted the picture. The San Diego sandwich was good by what he said, hopefully he writes a review of some sort since he has a Yelp account, I'm talking to you John C!!! The one who ordered the special absolutely loved his, it was a greek sandwich with falafels from what he explained with a nice spice mixture that presented some nice heat. The bread they used was toasted and was lathered with a garlic butter spread, he said 4 stars! Hopefully he writes a review as well, Brandon R! I've looked at other pictures for The Curbside Kitchen and next time I will be trying their tacos, so yes I will return soon. And people are raving about their breakfast burritos and would like to try that out too. This 3 stars review is only for the time being and I plan to return in the future to try other things and possibly the same I had today to see if anything gets better.

I have been waiting to try this place for so long. Went to harvest festival at st philips church for Halloween and they were there. I was so excited!!!! I ordered double bacon cheeseburger garlic fries and a side of ref fries a water and Pepsi. It came out to almost 19$ Okay so the reason I gave it 4 stars is because it was a bit expensive, all around even looking at other menu items to. And my biggest thing is that their ranch was that fake sour store bought ranch. Honestly I wouldn't have cared about the price and would have given it 5 stars if they had real buttermilk ranch. I make it at home and I honestly believe it would be cheaper for them. Their burger was juicy and the hun was delicious, the meat didn't have much flavor but it was honestly the third best burger I've ever had. First is Firestone, second believe it or not in and out and third will be curbside. Their garlic fries we honestly delicious, I've been craving them the whole next day and wish I'd have got a to go order because they were the kind of fries that would even be good the next day. The man that I believe owns the truck was super friendly and helpful and easy to strike up a conversation with. So all in all it was delicious and knowing it's a csub now I'll be going to try other items. Hoping they bring real ranch to the truck and I'll give it a 5 star review!! Thanks for the amazing experience and good food Curbside

Bacon cheeseburger and garlic fries in the background. Delicious fresh taste!

On a road trip, my friend Denise and I were looking for a convenience store in roads that were not…read morepaved with cement nor were they in the center of a chic boutique and a hits-the-spot every time boba shop. Yes, we were basically on dirt roads that saw a few scattered homes here and there, and visible old school phone towers (the brown kind) connected with wires (where crows sit on a row) existed, and not much else. We drove around in some circles, looking for this fabled store and found nothing, not even a Bigfoot. We noted how the moment felt like we were on an Iowa highway because we saw expansive fields and experienced a Middle-America atmosphere. I wanted a small stalk of wheat in between my teeth. As we drove, we saw this place and decided that this joint would replace the store we were looking for. At this point I started to listen to Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas. If you know, you know. As soon as I entered I felt like I had stepped into a diner in the middle of nowhere, the type of spot where brothers talked about saving people, hunting things, you know the family business. My friend Denise did not know what I was talking about and when I tried to introduce the world to her with corny prompts she decided not to play along. Still for a fan the experience was nothing but a win!(chester). I cannot remember the person who helped us but she was a server who reported that she had lived in the surrounding area for most of her life. She was deepening the believe that we were on a route diner neglected by city reality. During this visit, I had fried okra for the first time in my life. It was weird to taste but not in a bad way. More like I had never tasted this texture before in my life. The texture that I had not tried before in my life was a gooey vegetable. Like the texture of the outside was exactly as advertised--- fried goodness. The actual okra was the gooey part. I do not want to sound crass, truly, I do not, but it did feel like enjoying something slimy, and I will leave it at that. Again, not wrong, just weird But I will not get it again. The server- the homegrown one- gave us fried pickles and these were much more to taste. Like, I i have had fried pickles before and I loved them but I had some that were not for me. But these, these, were pickle spears fried to brown goodness, and the mixture hit green- which does not mean go, more like Hulk enjoys, instead of smashes. It was a simple dish yes- green spear pickle fried but sometimes the goodness of a county fair is exactly what a roadtrip snack should be. The fair came to my table and I am not mad at that. On this trip I did have the Willow Dip which I feel is a close cousin to a french dip. What this place did well, at least I think, is putting it on an onion baguette. I am not sure if onion baguette is a middle-of-nowhere bread, but, I allowed it because the taste of the bread was, like tailored made for me, I am a sucker for onion, and not just because it gives me sexy breath. The food was standard, solid fare. Everything was just good nothing wrong with it, all good with it. The sauces were tasty, and added smoky sweet flavor that was welcomed. So this elevated the dish by addding a hickory taste. It did not save the dishes, but did make them better. The decorations were texas heavy. I should have taken more pictures. But sometimes the imagination allows for a space to feel more than at it is.

We arrived around 8 PM on a Sunday evening and there were a few parties still eating. We decided to order a half chicken as that was recommended as a good amount for 2. Since it was nearly the end of the night they only had a few pieces of pita bread left, so they gave us some sourdough to supplement. The pita bread was definitely tastier and paired more seamlessly with the chicken than the sourdough. Taste-wise, I enjoyed the garlic dip that accompanied the chicken, however the flavor of the chicken itself wasn't anything out of this world for me. I normally love potatoes but I wasn't huge on the taste and texture of the ones here. I thought the orzo was ok, but would recommend trying out their other options for side dishes. Overall, I'm glad I was finally able to drop by, but not sure if I'd find myself rushing back the next time I visit Ojai.

I liked how comfortable everything felt, and I appreciated that I could enjoy my time without feeling pressured or hurried. I noticed a lot of teenagers at this location, which made sense because the place has a fun, friendly vibe that younger people would enjoy a lot. Seeing them there made me realize how much teenagers would love spending time at The Perch, especially since it gives them a spot where they can eat good food, talk, laugh, and feel like they belong. Even though this restaurant was new to me, I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and settled in. I've only visited The Perch one time in my life before writing this review, but that one visit was enough for me to understand why people speak so positively about it. It's one of the most comfortable and enjoyable restaurants I've been to in a while, and I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a place to enjoy good food, spend time with friends, and feel part of a lively environment. If you're in Frazier Park and want a spot that feels inviting and fun, The Perch is definitely worth checking out.
