Steak and crab were delicious. Highly attentive staff. Caught the last song from a lively band while watching the sunset. Same zip code as heaven. Definitely recommend... tipping!

    Chicken fried steak breakfast.

We were in Pine Mountain Club for Christmas and there wasn't much open. This restaurant at the golf course was about it for breakfast. Service was friendly and fast. My chicken fried steak was delicious and reasonably sized. My wife's pancake breakfast was done well and pancakes were huge. The price was reasonable considering the situation. It's plenty ok with me for next time we're up there. It was a little difficult to find. Google maps did not take us the right place and the sign outside the clubhouse says "condor cafe".

My family and I went up and rented a cabin near the Cafe, we arrived about 30 min before they stopped serving breakfast. We were seated quickly and that's about where the 1 star comes for this place. The waitress was absent the whole time, she couldn't remember who ordered what and then some other guy came to help her and he was even worse. The food was mediocre at best, they forgot 3 items that were supposed to come with the meal and when we were ready to close our tab they were no where to be found. We had to get up and go get our tab and the entire staff had a lousy attitude.

Our waitress highly recommended we try the Egg's Benedict Jose's way and we are so glad that we did! We also got a side of their delicious fluffy buttery pancakes for the whole Condor experience. We also recommend sitting outside to enjoy the gorgeous views and weather! We will definitely be returning on our next trip to PMC.

Our son enjoyed the kids Mac and cheese with crispy fries and a chocolate milk. They have paper on the tables and crayons to pass the time.

We've had some really great meals here at the Condor Cafe. Adam was our server both times and he is terrific. The other servers are friendly and helpful too. They have live music most Saturday's and the bands are great! The menu changes weekly and while it's not a huge menu it's a great variety and they keep it fresh. Last week we had the cheesesteak special and it was really good! This week the shrimp and salmon. They also have a fresh baked cookie dessert that we didn't get but looked insane.

Excellent food, 5 star quality, the Big Boy Mountain Burger and Bison Burger are epic! Mike the manager and "Kingsley" have consistent preparation. Plus the mountains and forest as a back drop

This place was pretty good. Their Jose country Benedict is delicious and filling. They have great views to look at while your eating. Very fair priced and nice staff. Took a bit longer to be served but they were busy so not too bad. I'm happy to come back again in the future!

Came here for lunch with my husband and my mother-in-law. Walked up to the counter to be seated and was ignored for a fat minute with two servers standing there. Finally one server acknowledges us with the rudest attitude imaginable. Tells us that we have 10 minutes to order because they are closing soon. We were unaware of their hours, but there were a few other diners behind us waiting to be seated by a non bitchy waitress. We ordered quickly, however, we waited eons for our server to bring our drinks, and bring our bill. She acted as if we were a burden when bringing drinks and we asked for straws, that she actually had in her apron. She even took it upon herself to keep the change after my MIL paid with cash. The food was average, but the service we received from our waitress was disappointing and uncalled for.

The atmosphere felt warm, lively, and welcoming in a way that made it easy to relax and enjoy the moment. The food there tasted genuinely good to me, and every dish had the kind of flavor that makes you slow down and appreciate what you're eating instead of rushing through it. I liked how comfortable everything felt, and I appreciated that I could enjoy my time without feeling pressured or hurried. I noticed a lot of teenagers at this location, which made sense because the place has a fun, friendly vibe that younger people would enjoy a lot. Seeing them there made me realize how much teenagers would love spending time at The Perch, especially since it gives them a spot where they can eat good food, talk, laugh, and feel like they belong. Even though this restaurant was new to me, I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and settled in. I've only visited The Perch one time in my life before writing this review, but that one visit was enough for me to understand why people speak so positively about it. It's one of the most comfortable and enjoyable restaurants I've been to in a while, and I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a place to enjoy good food, spend time with friends, and feel part of a lively environment. If you're in Frazier Park and want a spot that feels inviting and fun, The Perch is definitely worth checking out.

It was sweet, crunchy, and delicious. I believe some people will be bothered by the sweetness, but it was perfect for me. They had an amazing list of cocktails and alcohol drinks as well. I enjoyed the ambiance and the intimate environment the place has. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

The server was polite and seated me quickly since it wasn't very busy. I ordered an omelet, assuming it would be one of the quickest and simplest items to prepare. Instead, it took 40 minutes to arrive. Honestly, if I were at home, I could go to the grocery store, buy the ingredients, prep, cook the omelet, and clean up in that same amount of time. It was surprising--and frustrating--that it took so long, especially after I had to follow up to get my food. The omelet itself was very basic. They chopped and mixed avocado directly into it as a topping, which was unusual since most places serve it on the side. It was also extremely bland--no salt or pepper at all. The vegetables inside were lightly seasoned and had an okay texture, but nothing memorable. The hash browns were the worst I've ever had: slightly raw, oily, and soft. That's especially disappointing considering I cook frozen hash browns at home and they've never turned out this bad. The toast was fine and adequately buttered. I genuinely feel bad for the locals who eat here and, by doing so, encourage the business to keep serving subpar food to new customers. I won't be dining at any Black Bear Diner again--I'd rather get Panda Express or go to the Denny's across the street.

On a road trip, my friend Denise and I were looking for a convenience store in roads that were not…read morepaved with cement nor were they in the center of a chic boutique and a hits-the-spot every time boba shop. Yes, we were basically on dirt roads that saw a few scattered homes here and there, and visible old school phone towers (the brown kind) connected with wires (where crows sit on a row) existed, and not much else. We drove around in some circles, looking for this fabled store and found nothing, not even a Bigfoot. We noted how the moment felt like we were on an Iowa highway because we saw expansive fields and experienced a Middle-America atmosphere. I wanted a small stalk of wheat in between my teeth. As we drove, we saw this place and decided that this joint would replace the store we were looking for. At this point I started to listen to Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas. If you know, you know. As soon as I entered I felt like I had stepped into a diner in the middle of nowhere, the type of spot where brothers talked about saving people, hunting things, you know the family business. My friend Denise did not know what I was talking about and when I tried to introduce the world to her with corny prompts she decided not to play along. Still for a fan the experience was nothing but a win!(chester). I cannot remember the person who helped us but she was a server who reported that she had lived in the surrounding area for most of her life. She was deepening the believe that we were on a route diner neglected by city reality. During this visit, I had fried okra for the first time in my life. It was weird to taste but not in a bad way. More like I had never tasted this texture before in my life. The texture that I had not tried before in my life was a gooey vegetable. Like the texture of the outside was exactly as advertised--- fried goodness. The actual okra was the gooey part. I do not want to sound crass, truly, I do not, but it did feel like enjoying something slimy, and I will leave it at that. Again, not wrong, just weird But I will not get it again. The server- the homegrown one- gave us fried pickles and these were much more to taste. Like, I i have had fried pickles before and I loved them but I had some that were not for me. But these, these, were pickle spears fried to brown goodness, and the mixture hit green- which does not mean go, more like Hulk enjoys, instead of smashes. It was a simple dish yes- green spear pickle fried but sometimes the goodness of a county fair is exactly what a roadtrip snack should be. The fair came to my table and I am not mad at that. On this trip I did have the Willow Dip which I feel is a close cousin to a french dip. What this place did well, at least I think, is putting it on an onion baguette. I am not sure if onion baguette is a middle-of-nowhere bread, but, I allowed it because the taste of the bread was, like tailored made for me, I am a sucker for onion, and not just because it gives me sexy breath. The food was standard, solid fare. Everything was just good nothing wrong with it, all good with it. The sauces were tasty, and added smoky sweet flavor that was welcomed. So this elevated the dish by addding a hickory taste. It did not save the dishes, but did make them better. The decorations were texas heavy. I should have taken more pictures. But sometimes the imagination allows for a space to feel more than at it is.

The drive out was lovely, with lots of yellow broom blooming on the hills. We passed the Firefighter Monument that my husband tends that commemorates the firefighters killed in the Spanish Ranch fire, and checked out the growth of some oak trees around it. We pulled in for an early lunch at the Buckhorn and got a nice booth near a window. We were waited on immediately and provided water and a new menu with more of an emphasis on breakfast dishes. It was early lunch for us, and I ordered my favorite "Breakfast Salad," a Cobb salad, which has bacon and egg in it. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich, a specialty of the place. There was a delay getting the wine menu, and my first choice had run out, so I tried a white that was close to a Sauvignon Blanc from a local vineyard. I had spied some very authentic looking apple pie coming in, and we ordered a slice for desert. It came with a couple of scoops of creamy ice cream, and had a sure-enough baked through crust with juicy, cinnamony apples inside! On the way to the car, we noticed a local rancher "branding" the building, by pushing his heated up brand into the front wall of the restaurant where many other brands appeared. The paint smoked a bit, and when he was done, a spade appeared on the facade, "Spade Ranch," he told me, literally making his brand relevant to the cafe! We reveled in the beauty of the ride back, appreciated out step back in time into the history of this beautiful valley.
