    Hot Chicken Nuggets
    Sanjana R.

The OG Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was so tasty! Very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Loved the Hot Chicken Nuggets too, everything was great. I think next time, I want to try the Extra Hot Chicken, as the Hot version wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. Even though it was very busy on a Saturday, our food came out in reasonable time. Plenty of seating is available in the food court as well! Overall a nice ambiance but it can get pretty congested with a lot of people.

Giving 3.5 stars since it's a new restaurant for us, in a cool DC food hall, and staff is friendly & helpful. Fries 6.7: borderline soggy but fresh cut. OG Nashville Sandwich 4.8: bland and thin. Fried Chicken & Coleslaw 5.4: chicken is bland and jalapeño coleslaw is sour.

Respectable prices (10.49/burger) but small portion size. TBH I don't have that big of an appetite and I was hungry after a full burger. As far as fried chicken sandwiches go... not bad but not the best. Juicy meat & good toppings but overall honestly kind of bland. Was hoping for better!

This location is inside Western Market. It does tend to be pretty busy during lunch time but the wait time for food was not bad. You get to choose your spice level which ranges from mild to extra hot. I ordered the OG Nashville sandwich. It was made to order and came out very hot and fresh. Unfortunately, it was a bit too salty for me which made it not very enjoyable. Maybe next time I'll try the honey butter sandwich.

So I had my eye on this place for quite some time, thanks to IG. So after a YEE, my friend and I, flocked down to RR. I was starving! So the restaurant is inside the Western Market. It's a pick up counter. You order and they make it. Very little waiting time. Especially for a Friday. My chicken was the honey butter. I got medium spicy. Thinking it was going a joke like it won't hit me..even the dude that worked there said its hot hot... but I needed that kick. Just have a jug of water close. The chicken sammich is good as HATTIES in Nashville, I can't say which is better cuz both get same amount of love. I didnt get fries cuz this Sammy will fill you up. Great service btw!! Plenty of indoor seating all over and outside! Please open more locations like in Maryland!! Can't wait to return!

+ 1/2 | From food truck(s) to brick and mortar, this spot has been on my radar for over a year now. Customer service = Super friendly, accommodating. Cost = Pricey, à la carte Food = Decent. Honestly, a Chick-fil-A/Popeye's/KFC chicken sandwich with a slice of cheese. Everything was served piping hot, which is a must for me. The honey butter chicken was crispy and flavorful. I ordered a medium, but I swear they gave me the 7th level of hell! -_- It was sooo hot. The fries were just OK. Overall, it wasn't bad. I doubt I'd return, because $18 is a little too much for a meal that doesn't include an extra side or a beverage. __ IG: @f.hux I #yelp and I know things. Medium was so spicy but very good. Second time, ordered mild. There was no spice at all. Very inconsistent with menu descriptions. Great addition to the Western Market Foodhall.

Stopped by Roaming Rooster near old uni and unfortunately the overall experience was quite disappointing. The customer service was so bad that I didn't even want to try what I bought. I was handed a room temperature water which in the grand scheme of things wasn't that bad but the overall impression was already made. I try to look for positives but I couldn't find one here. Maybe the other locations are better but I'm less inclined to try another one.

I haven't been in DC in two years and I can't come to the area and not come get Roaming rooster! I had a honey butter chicken sandwich (hold the cheese) with medium heat temperature spice and it was phenomenal! A perfect blend of crispy juicy flavor spice in a bite that's unmatched! And the fries were great also! (They really need to bring a location to ATLANTA!)

First time trying Roaming Rooster and I really Enjoyed the OG Nashville Chicken Sandwich with Fries. A bit pricey for a sandwich, fries, and bottled drink but hey it's DC!!!

Inside the Western Market, among many other vendors, I was told this chicken sandwich place was awesome. I got the OG Nashville chicken sandwich (Hot heat (spicy) level), chicken tenders (Medium heat level) and the coleslaw. The chicken could've been a bit crispier but overall it was good. My spice tolerance is pretty good and the hot level was bearable but it definitely is hot. The medium spicy level wasn't that far off from the hot so if you can't take the heat, go for the mild. The coleslaw also has a slight kick as it has slices of jalapeño in it. Additionally, the eating area is shared with the other vendors so it gets quite loud during busy times. Pick your lunch/dinner time wisely!

Great place to satisfy a chicken sandwich craving! The chicken was fried and seasoned perfectly and I also really liked the buns. I would say that the honey butter sandwich did not really have a strong honey butter taste - really just tasted like a regular fried chicken sandwich, but it was still good! I wish it had some kind of vegetable or that they put the slaw on this sandwich also though because it was definitely a bit greasy to eat by itself. Also, we got medium and mild for the heat level and it was not hot at all (and I wouldn't consider my spice tolerance to be super high either). I would probably describe the medium to be more of a mild and the mild to be no spice at all.

I went in as normal (I go there a couple of times a month). I ordered my normal veggie burito and when it came to picking the veggies, I put my index finger very slightly forward above the glass partition. The server (large bearded African-American guy) yelled at me in a very hostile voice "You do that again and you won't get your Burito." I am a 50s white guy, actually wearing a neck brace from an operation. To say I was non-confrontational is a huge understatement. I appealed to the other server, calmly, to take over my order and just leave the first guy alone. She refused saying that was the policy. She was also African Amercian. I try not to find race in any situation. I am liberal politically and I enjoy living in a diverse neighborhood like Woodley. Server came by, not so much as a greeting or introduction, just a short, "do you know what you want?" Fine - no problem. We ordered two avocado toasts and side of fries to share. Now, the menu clearly says the avocado toasts are served with a "runny egg". Ok sure, no problem. What i did not anticipate was a half raw egg with the yolk swimming in a sea of translucent completely uncooked "whites". It was like a golden disc encased in a snot rocket. Ok, maybe that's their "runny". Slide it off the toast and press on - snail trail of mucus be damned. The avocado spread was great - bright, citrusy, and well seasoned. The "hot sauce" was likely from a bottle and could have been left off. The radishes would have benefitted from being tossed in lemon, salt and pepper. The image of the "runny" egg was too much so I ate half the toast serving and meandered to the fries. Not bad, crispy , hot, and...wait...sweet...something is off, I can't put my finger on it but at least it's not a raw egg. I keep eating. My kids looks at me and says, "do these remind you of funnel cake?" THAT'S IT - FUNNEL CAKE. We have both had enough, ask for the check. The server comes by gives me the clunky machine, I tap and put it down, he reaches for it and I say, it's processing, I still have to sign...and then he starts snapping his fingers...WHAT IN THE ACTUAL €¥($ ARE WE DOING RIGHT NOW?!? We had an app of fries and then my main was the burger with fries. The fries were great. They are those style of pub fries that are crispy and delicious. The garlic aioli dip was a great pairing for them. The burger was fine. It wasn't anything out of this world but it was still good. All the toppings blended well with the burger. I felt it could have used some more flavor. Duke's is in an unbeatable spot being right across from the entrance to the zoo. If you are looking for a bite right there, it's a good option.

From start to finish, I have absolutely no negative feedback at all. 1. The Food Everything we ordered was completely divine! Here's the rundown: -Sandwiches: My husband got a Bogan Bun. My son a Mumbo Bun chicken sandwich and listen, he didn't speak a single word the entire meal because he was enjoying it so much! I ordered the Lucky Bun made with an Impossible patty. It was everything! Best I've had at a restaurant! In fact, my son, who loves beef burgers and claims he doesn't like plant based meat, ended up eating the rest of my burger! He tore that plant based meat DOWN! -Thick cut chips & Queso: The waiter let us know that their portion of fries (chips) could easily feed 3 to 4 people. He was not lying at all. The three of us shared one basket. I don't know if the sandwiches or the fries stole the show. These fries were seasoned to absolute perfection!!! SERIOUSLY! Not the typical sprinkle on top, but seasoned on every single side like someone picked up each fry and hand sprinkled each fry. Think I'm fibbing look at my pic. We ordered a side of queso for dipping and it was so good I wish I had some right now. If you're reading, hear me out Lucky Bun....add tortilla chips and queso to the menu please!!!! I would buy it just to scoop up that delicious cheese. -The Garlic Aioli: why am I highlighting a condiment???? Because!! lol!! It wasn't just standard mayo mixed with garlic powder. You could tell someone actually finely minced fresh garlic and herbs into it. It was so good I couldn't decide whether to dip my fries in the aioli or the queso! So that's why it's in my review! 2. Service The service was exceptional. There was no wait time at all. We walked straight in and were seated immediately. The food came out extremely fast which surprised us since we all ordered completely different proteins. They were speedy but all of our food arrived perfectly warm. The host, a slim gentleman, and our waitress, a lovely young lady rockin locs, were both incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. I'm telling you good service makes the food even better! 3. Restaurant Look and Seating The inside of the restaurant is fairly small, but they maximized the space with multiple tables and a full service bar. They also have outdoor dining and a front waiting area with outdoor furniture, which would be perfect for a nice summer day. You don't even have to ask me because you already know the answer. YES!!! The next time I am in DC, I will specifically make time to go there. Even if I'm not staying in the immediate area, I would gladly take an Uber just to eat here again and so will my family! Make sure you get there too!

The mosquitoes aren't out yet so enjoy the patio. But honestly, the real star of the show, the one that truly stole my heart and taste buds, was the Antigua Bound drink. It was so good I had to get it twice! Seriously, this drink is a game-changer. It's got that perfect balance of refreshing and delicious that just makes you want to savor every sip. You know a drink is special when it outshines a stellar patty melt and fries, and the Antigua Bound definitely did that. Do yourself a favor and get to Lucky Buns DC (18th Street location) for some amazing food, and whatever you do, do NOT leave without trying the Antigua Bound. You'll thank me later! You're welcome!
