I stood at the order, not I from of the order window, 5 minutes , before someone came to tell me order number line or the other self serve computer in front of the pick up window. The Mamba sauce is unique: sweet, spicey but good. The chicken sandwich: delicate and good. Cooked to perfection, not much seasoning and a really soft toasted but. Do I need to come back to this space yes, multiple food options. Back to QueenMother? No because the customer service meets me before the food.

Queen Mother's is very good. I visited with a large group and we got a few sandwiches ($15), the tenders combo ($15), fries ($5), and chicken and waffles ($16). All the chicken was similar but also all tasty. I recommend the sandwiches over the tenders because they have nice sauce/toppings and nice brioche buns. The fries are crinkle cut and fried in duck fat (supposedly) and sprinkled with seasoning. They were also very good, but could be a bit crispier. You get one free sauce with your fries. If you go as a couple, two sandwiches and a side of fries are enough ($35 total, a little pricey). The spot is at the Crystal City Water Park. This is a collection of a couple different food kiosks with shared outdoor seating. There is no indoor seating. Not every vendor has things like napkins or ketchup out and available; you might have to ask. Bathrooms were very clean. Vendors don't serve alcohol unless you go to the bar. Service could be improved. There is no way to know when you order is ready, so you just have to hover around and check in with them. But there is also no one always at the register, so you have to get someone's attention to get your food if you see it sitting there. They forgot the toppings for both of the Chicken and Waffles orders, so we had to go back and ask for it, which they provided.

Solid chicken sandwich and fries. I crushed them. Relatively pricy for takeout/fast food and a little bit of a wait but I like that it's made to order.

I was really surprised by Queen Mother's. Cheaper, more food, and better quality than Chick-Fil-a. No frills, order online or order via tablet at the window. The service is quick enough, but listen up for your order, especially when it is busy. Plenty of seating in the area around it or near the Water Bar. Recommend Queen Mother's Classic with some duck fat fries and their sauce. All of it looked good though! Overall great spot for a quick bite.

This place has been on my list to try for a few months and I finally got the chance. Elected for the Elijah likes it spicy chicken sandwich with fries. Didn't care much for the fries, weren't bad but nothing special. The chicken sandwich was very good. Juicy, crispy and the brioche bun was soft and pillowy. One of the better chicken sandwiches I've had in the DMV. I will say the chicken wasn't spicy at all. I think the spice was more in the flour before they fried the chicken. Love the location of the restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating. Service was fairly quick on a busy Sunday afternoon.

If you're in the mood for an elevated Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich then Queen Mother's Kitchen is your place! I ordered the Queen Mother's Classic Chicken Sandwich and Duck Fat Fries to try their classic items. I will say it was pretty pricey at $20 for this meal but the food was hot, plus the chicken was juicy and not dry at all. All of this made it worth every penny - definitely check this place out!

Damn, this is a good chicken sandwich! Got the classic Queen Mother with their special sauce. Good size, crisp and juicy, soft brioche bun. Duck fat crinkle fries are extra with a variety of sauces to choose from. Took about 10 or so minutes for my order to be ready. Water Park is a great place to eat on a nice weather day (I just wish the city changed the name - it's confusing!), and Queen Mother hits the spot if you're craving fried chicken.

You will find this food kiosk in the trendy Crystal City Water Park. There is metered street parking and commercial parking garages within a reasonable walking distance. They have a menu small based on chicken sandwiches. I got a Virginia Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich with a side of potato salad. Just like most of teh restaurants in the park, the food is a bit pricey. There are a few tables on the side of kiosk to eat and lots more, with some scenic views in the park. I had no problem getting a seat at the tables on the side of the kiosk, but I did share the table with other diners though. But I do recommend getting there before the lunch rush. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. The sandwich was ok. It was a bit dry and could have benefitted from more honey butter which was very savory by itself. The potato salad was horrible. It was some of the worst potato salad that I have ever had. It was very bland and had no flavor or taste whatsoever. I could not even finish it. This restaurant is ok, but given the many other restaurants at Water Park, I would probably explore those before I come back here.

I tried Queen Mother's Kitchen for a quick lunch while I was in the office. I ordered at the kiosk and it was ready 5 minutes later. The sandwich was delicious and not too spicy. The surrounding park is cute, with tons of seating, and a great place to meet friends.

This black owned restaurant is serving premium chicken cooked to order. I tried 4 different sandwiches and im going to review them in order of my most favorite to least. Spicy Buffalo: this sandwich was really good, I love a spicy chicken sandwich, the chicken is tender and juicy. I'm not a fan of coleslaw at all so I just put it on the side. 10/10. Queen Mother's Classic : a simple chicken sandwich that surpasses all the fast food chains. (I cant believe people were killing people over popeyes when this sandwich is so much better). 8.5/10 Elijah likes it spicy : took me by surprise, I didn't think I would like this sandwich but this was my third favorite. This sandwich was spicy and sweet. 8/10 Virginia Honey butter: taste like a cinnamon butter roll with fried chicken. Gives you sweet and savory. If you dip your fries in the honey butter it tastes like dipping fries in vanilla ice cream. 7/10 only because I don't eat sweets very often so I don't have a palate for sweet things

    Chicken Tenders Combo

Food came out fresh. only one sauce comes with your tender combo and honestly small portions for the price of $15 per combo. Chicken was nice and juicy and definitely well tenderized. Fries had a little bit of paprika on them. Sauce seemed to resemble shake shack sauce, more than Rasing Canes sauce, and honestly, a little bit less flavorful than Shack's Sauce. Only outdoor seating and no mac & cheese unlike the other location that is bigger. Outdoor seating was clean and nice outdoor ambiance. Staff was willing to help. Wish they gave out free ketchup and cooked 100% in fat not canola oil.

Was in the area and wanted to try more of the food spots in the area. Unfortunately, not a lot of places were open, so I went with this spot. I wasn't as hungry, so I just got the duck nuggs and fries. No complaints! but nothing our of the ordinary! Pretty pricey! and wait is somewhat long, so keep in mind to make sure you're not in a rush when you order here.

    Sydney G.

Really enjoyed my visit here. They make everything fresh to order so be prepared to wait 10+ minutes to get your food, but I promise it's worth it! I opted for a mambo number three sandwich which came with slaw and a tasty sauce. I also got fries and dill pickles on the side. The sandwiches are comprised of three chicken tenders as well as the toppings. I liked the balance of the coleslaw to add some freshness. The fries were great! And the pickles were good as well.

With an impressively high Yelp rating, I was disappointed to hear the new owners say the glowing reviews are from the previous owner (though I respect the honesty). Despite that, we really enjoyed our visit. The new owners live up to the legacy. First of all, the service is excellent. An older man makes the food and who I assume is his daughter takes the orders. Both are kind. At the end, she gave my daughter a granola bar for free. The menu is a mix of Korean food and the small market in the back sells Korean products and more. It's very fun to browse and pick up some snacks and treats. My daughter loved the juicy grape fruit snacks. To eat, we ordered the Japanese curry and milk tea. Both were full of flavor and made with love. "This is my new favorite meal of all time," said my daughter. She devoured the bowl herself! There's a small parking lot in front of the cafe. Who knew that there would be a cafe in Pentagon City with this option? The interior is a bit cramped with many cardboard boxes piling up. BRAISED PORK OVER RICE (卤肉饭) - 15.49 Lots of rice, more rice than I could finish with the amount of braised pork belly they give. The pork was very fatty, which made it tasty and juicy, but it wasn't very saucy. There were two halves of a bokchoy and half of an incredibly boiled egg, which was meh. Still, I finished all the toppings and maybe a little less than half of the rice. I was full, but $15.49 for the food was not worth it. Overall, 3.5/5 but bump it to a 4/5 since there's a scarcity of food like this in the area. They sell other comfort Asian dishes too, like coconut chicken cutlet rice and Japanese eel rice.

But I would think they would have some heads up on conferences in the area just due to their location. Anyways, I bee-lined it here during lunch break to get a sandwich, with only one person in front of me at the counter. I had the ribeye cheese with added onions, peppers, and mushrooms (a $2.00 upcharge), and was told to have a seat and they would bring me the food since I was going to eat in the building lobby where this location is. And right after I ordered groups from the conference started coming in and soon enough the line was 15-20 people. At the end of that line were two co-workers that found this place by getting lost. They (co-workers) took over 20 minutes before they were even able to make it to the counter to order their food, chili and another ribeye cheesesteak sandwich with fries. After they placed their order, I looked inside and realized they were overwhelmed and were probably not going to bring out my sandwich so I went to the pick up area to ask the status of my sandwich. The panic behind the counter was telling me they lost my order. And they had me wait at the counter for my sandwich an additional 4-5 minutes. When I got back to the table I realized that all I got was the ribeye cheese sandwich with shredded iceberg lettuce, no peppers, no onions, no mushrooms. I wanted to go back, but with the panic behind the counter I said I am just glad I got something to eat. The sandwich was good, not bad, with a nice toast on the hoagie bread. About 10 minutes after I got my food, my co-workers got their food and the person that ordered the chili was very disappointed, they said they have had better chili and Wendy's. My other co-worker agreed that the ribeye cheese sandwich was not bad, but the fries were flavorless, like they were not salted. Anyways, maybe management could take initiative in finding out what conferences are occurring in the immediate area and be prepared that first day, because you only have one chance to make a first impression. I am not likely to return to this establishment due to the incorrect order and the slow service. I wish them much success.
