I've had a horrible experience with this pool service. The first strike was when they put in a used heater electric board and charged me for the cost of a new one. When I caught the fraud, the owner, "Cindy," apologized and offered to discount the unit already in place, but I thought it was unscrupulous that she tried to pawn off a used unit on me without first telling me it was used, while charging me full price for the new unit. I forgave that experience, and then I made the mistake of converting to salt with this company. What a nightmare- Beware consumer... Once they installed the new salt unit, the technician, who was a good guy, said that he'd be out in two weeks to check the salt levels, etc. I made the guy promise he would come back out to check the unit because this service failed to show up as promised on a previous occasion. Same outcome- The technician did not show up as promised to check the newly installed unit and the salt levels. The owner said it was my responsibility to service the pool and didn't want to check or warranty the work they did. The pool did not need servicing in the classic sense, it was my new salt unit that needed to be checked to see that it was working right, as the technician promised! When I called Cindy to ask when the technician was coming out to check the system, she became agitated and angry, and she tried to guilt me into paying an extra service fee for the visit after I just spent nearly $1800 for the new salt conversion. She said she was "losing money" by coming out to check the unit she installed! I explained I was following the directions of her technician who promised to come out and check that all was ok with the new installation, but Cindy was indignant and not interested in honoring her technician's promise, even though it was clear something was wrong with the unit, and the unit itself was leaking. Cindy only wanted to sell me the conversion, she did not want to take responsibility for making sure the unit was functioning properly after the sale. As it stands now, my water bill indicates there is no leak in the pool, and yet I am putting four-to-five bags of salt in the pool per month. Obviously, something is wrong with the unit itself, but Roadrunner Pool Service is not concerned with following up and making good on their work. I would not do business with this company. I will say, however, that the guys who work for the owner are knowledgeable, nice guys, and I think they mean well, but the owner's business practices are unscrupulous, and I don't believe Cindy allows her employees to do the right thing. They knew the right thing to do was follow up and check the installation. Cindy is aggressive, unprofessional, and doesn't follow up on work done- I will be seeking another pool company to correct her work, and then I will be taking her to court for the cost of repairs it takes to tighten the unit up and make the unit function properly. read more
