We have been using this company for over 15 years as our weekly pool service along with changing to a saltwater system, heaters, etc. We have never had a problem with service and or workmanship. I can call Cindy if I have a problem or concern and she sets up calls right away. read more

These people are awful. Unresponsive when I have called for service. When people have shown up, they were generally helpless, useless and rude. One guy simply said "I don't know what's wrong and I don't know how to fix it." And he drove away. No apology and no follow-up, even after I called their office for help. After firing them the new company fixed it in a day. Roadrunner replaced some electrical stuff near the pool heater and left all the old parts lying on the ground. The door to the new electrical box they installed wouldn't close. I honestly don't know how this company remains in business. There are many good companies in the desert -- this is not one of them. read more

We hired Roadrunner in 2018, they had a guy named Dominic come and tell us we need to fix some issues in the pool. We of course agreed to the work that was needed.. They came out in July 8th 2019 drained the pool apparently fixed the pool . Refilled the pool, added an extra 600.00 dollars to the already quoted 900.00 tab. We put the home on the market thinking our pool was in tip top shape. Our buyer was there to meet Dominic to go over any pool issues with her. He blatantly lied to this woman and told her they never did the work and that the work was _rigged"! What an idiot. We have all the documentation and surveillance video of all trucks they had in front of our home for three days!!! I don't know if Cindy is a con artist or just plain stupid.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I'm calling a lawyer and reporting to BBB. read more

Terrific pool company from repairs to maintenance. Fast response. These owners care! I totally trust my pool and equipment to the care of Roadrunner. read more

Here in the Coachella Valley we have a lot of options when it comes to pool service, maintenance and construction. I have lived here for 30 years and hired several companies. There are much better options than Roadrunner Pools. I hired them to do regular maintenance on my pool. The service was mediocre, they couldn't figure out a proper sweeper installation and failed to clean and replace filters adequately. On the customer service side, they were lean on decent bedside manner and one of the guys even drove right over my driveway roundabout leading to a brick repair. Somewhere along the line I decided to give them a chance to fix a leak and replace my tile. The tile sure looked pretty for about a week until I realized they filled the pool poorly and now the calcium build up is so bad that I'm using pumice stone to clean brand new tile myself. They are a C- at best. Look elsewhere. read more

We have had roadrunner pools servicing Our pool for all most 2 years now we have spent thousands of dollars on making our pool prestine. I am getting frustrated with them!!! We have had it blasted 2 times at $900 and pop. I feel like they are just sucking me dry. Changed to saline for another $1500 since they said that would keep the tile from getting calisifed. Now it looks like crap again. If you are getting paid to service pool would you not notice there is a red light on the salt thing is not working? The salt monitor thing must be broke i guess. They do the neighbors and theirs looks great. Do they think I just think they can just keep charging me cause I want it to look nice. I am so done!!!! This is crazy!!!! Just take care of maintain which is what i am paying for . Frustarined with them!!!!! read more

We have a small spa that needs minimal maintenance and they can't manage to do this without me having to call them to remind them. They miss 50% of the scheduled cleanings because they forget or simply do not get around to us. They have poor customer service skills in person and over the phone. Cindy is rude and unprofessional! I called their sister store for help and there was only one person in the whole store and he hung up on me because he was too busy with people In the store to help. Not the guys fault but very poor management! read more

Roadrunner Pools - 1 hour after it being cleaned by roadrunners..... I understand the leaves but all that dirt shouldn't be there! - Pool Cleaners Near Me - La Quinta, California

We have had Roadrunner Pool Service for over a year now. Our old pool plaster had never looked better but it was in terrible shape. We decided to bite the bullet and get our pool replastered through them. Cindy walked us through the entire process and it was seamless. Our pool is now so beautiful and we are so proud of it. I highly recommend their service and their repair and supplies. read more

I have had only good experiences with this company. They helped me with a referral for a time crunch and made sure everything was done properly. The staff is very helpful. Any problems I have had were taken care of in a timely matter. They also maintain my pool. I would recommend this company! read more

I would give this company no stars if I could. We used Roadrunner Pool Service for several years as the price was right. Don't let the price fool you. It's not worth it. They apparently serviced our pool twice per week but we live in Canada so we could not verify that. Every time we had a renter show up the pool was in poor shape. How would this even be possible if the pool was serviced twice a week? I understand that sometimes there are circumstances beyond your control but every time? When we contacted Cindy there was always an excuse, someone was sick or had a doctor's appointment, or the service tech was there and he did in fact sent a picture, which I'm sure was untrue. On top of that Cindy's customer service skills are absolutely terrible. She has no clue how to deal with people and no clue how to run a business. She is rude and condescending and unapologetic. We searched on Yelp to find a new service and with great reviews we decided to go with JA Pools. So far, so good. read more

They don't even deserve one star. Came out because my home warranty sent them out cuz my filter was leaking. Unfriendly rude technician never seen anything like it before. The woman who called for the appointment was also very rude and unfriendly. During the installation anytime I would ask a question he would act like I was stupid for asking a question. Then I watched them and because the pool was not getting prime the pump was not getting primed so I asked him what was going on he said oh I had to take my knife out and cut a piece of the filter body off so that the gasket would seal I said this is supposed to be a new filter assembly shouldn't have to do that any stormed off. I will never use them and I am calling the home warranty service and complaining do yourself a favor never use them read more

Called today late on Saturday because our pool pump wouldn't come on, they came out so we could enjoy the rest of our day. I don't know who the wonderful employees came but they did !!! Thank you so much! I hope the tip helps a little for coming out so late on Saturday to help us!!!!! read more

The first season went well with their service, but then things changed. During the worst months of the Pandemic I expected a little understanding when I called to ask Cindy to tell the men to put a mask on when at my house. I should not even have to ask for this, it should be done without asking..it's the LAW. The second time it happened mad me angry. Worse, when I asked him to please wear a mask I got a nasty look. By the third time, and after 2 weeks of a no show, it became annoying. This is so inconsiderate, they use a key I entrusted to them to enter my private pool area which during the COVID-19 pandemic is my only sacred, safe space to feel comfortable. It's like being totally ignored over a really serious risk to my health and wellbeing. Don't tell me it isn't important, my brother caught the virus in February and died from it. So when a stranger (never seen before) saunters into my patio/pool area WITHOUT A MASK, unannounced and on the wrong day, I totally freaked out and ran inside. Can you blame me? He scared the crap out of me. From a window I asked him to put on a mask. I got back a nasty look. I watched him from indoors as he SPIT right there on my pavement at the entrance to the pool. In the middle of a Global Pandemic, my brother dead, am I not allowed to insist that they wear a mask and refrain from spitting on my pool deck? I don't need this right now, still grieving my brother's death. I got nothing but attitude from the worker and worse, from Cindy when I called the second time. I mean, how many times do I have to ask for such a simple thing? I have the right to protect my home, my health, and my LIFE without being chastised for it! Even with all this, I did not fire them, all I wanted was an apology and to show up with a mask. But instead, they never returned, did NOT return my key, so now I have to buy a new lock. I just love the people who are taking advantage and being abusive during the most difficult time this planet has ever seen! ALL I WANT IS TO BE SPOKEN TO AND TREATED LIKE A HUMAN BEING.......too much to ask from the selfish and nasty people at this business. I read the other reviewers have been treated bad also. read more

They came over to check on my small fountain. For $ 95 told me it was clogged and it would be $ 160 to clean it up. For $ 95 I would expect to get a bit more than another $70 to clean a 18" wide saucer. I will not call them again. read more

Sadly I feel this company is the epitome of poor customer service boarding on the edge of being dishonest...we had hired them to clean our spa once a week...when my husband suddenly died ..I told them I would be leaving and to take care of the spa...the always sent a bill each month and I quickly paid it...when I finally returned 9 months later and 720.00 paid...the spa was dirty....smelled cover handle and straps unfasten...I was treated with total lack of respect...saying oh he is coming out today...he has not been there for a week...I am sorry it was obvious this company took advantage of the fact I was not there and had trusted them with the spa's care...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY read more

We've used Roadrunner Pools for 4 years. They were recommended by previous homeowners. They have been very reliable and responsive to our needs. The pool cleaner is here every week and is very diligent. When we've had problems, they send someone out right away who is knowledgeable about the issue. Always available by phone. read more

Dominic was great..trouble shooting our PentAir Pool heater and remote system. Once he observed the heating falure, he used a fault code to pin point the problem and replace the Thermo Regulator valve. He also noticed that a neighbor had cut into the remote receiver antenna...causing water damage to the circuit board.. He fixed the receiver antenna housing making it water tight again. After some discussion I installed the Syste me app for Pentair on my Droid and iPad All together, a pleasant and productive service visit. read more

Kind people but unreliable service. Many days, our spa was unusable because it was not cleaned consistently.

I called roadrunner pools for an estimate over the phone with Cindy the night before to get my pool service and tile cleaned. They next day Manuel came out to clean my pool tile. Manuel did a job above what I expected he took care in every detail took his time and explain everything to me. Very professional company I highly recommend Roadrunner pool service. read more

Without going into long, boring detail, I am pleased with the Pool Store in La Quinta for suggesting Roadrunner Pool Service for an emergency "fix" on an extremely hot Saturday afternoon. A service technician came out and replaced a faulty valve. The next day (Sunday), the problem persisted. The Pool Store helped me limp the problem along until Roadrunner could come back on Monday. Two technicians came on Monday and found an easy fix to Saturday's fix. They were courtious, professional, and I was able to take go out of town the next day confidant that all was well. read more

Worst ever. Home warranty sends them out and instead of trying to fix our heater spent more time trying to get me to buy a whole new system. Now after he played with a couple things, during the day the pool heater stopped working. They need to close down read more

We are big fans of Roadrunner Pools. The service is excellent. Drew!!! Domenico!!! are outstanding, and trustworthy. Highly recommend them

The absolute worst! Pool mans wife just threatened my wife with violence because we asked them to not pour their dirty chemicals onto our brand new lawn. We've asked them multiple times to stop and they refuse. They were also caught on video cleaning the filters back by our HVAC equipment causing clogs to our dryer vent and turning the area into a mud swamp. When confronted they denied and lied, but once we told them we had video they were silent and busted. The pool is supposed to be vacuumed once a week, but is never vacuumed. Black mold is living in the pool and the overall care and service is horrendous. They take no responsibility for their actions and instead blame us and/or the pool equipment for anything that goes wrong. Don't even think about using this company. You've been warned. Thank you. read more

We have been using Roadrunner for about a year. Over the past two months we noticed that the serviceman wasn't coming to clean the pool on a regular basis. After calling several times, we were told that he was coming on his regular schedule and we didn't know what we were talking about. There is a lady named Cindy that is the absolute worst! She doesn't work with the customer and is completely rude! They also own a company called the Pool Store in La Quinta and would recommend to all of you to avoid it! I agree with Silvia M. that if they could receive a -100 star, I would click on it. There have to be better options for you if you are looking at this company read more

Have been using this service for five years, while not perfect they do try and even answer phones on Saturday. They take their responsibility seriously and will work with you any way they can, for us that's a good technician. Majority of their employees have been working for them long term and while do have one or two long term employees that can be trying to work with, what service orientated company doesn't. I would have given five star if not for a particular employee I had to convince that my pool was indeed broken, this happened three separate occasions. But if you are willing to be polite and work out the issues it does get repaired in the end. read more

The regular pool cleaning gal is great.Always does a great job.Beware if you need repairs,Damien is a crook.Gave us a price for a new pump and installed a used one.Only after I called did they come out and put in a new pump. This pool company is a joke... Cindy the owner doesn't know how customer service works..She hires worker bees that don't know anything about pools.. I just had 3 pool companies out to check on my pool and sure enough salt system wasn't working and the board was broke.. Cindy was telling me I had a leak because I was loosing salt, No Cindy it was not working, hasn't been for some time.... $910.00 later my pool is now working... This is a joke of a company... The so called technician thinks he knows everything also.. They don't show up for pool days, don't bother to call.. Cindy always has an excuse for everything.. Cindy go take a class in customer service and maybe hire some people that know what the hell they are doing.. This company SUCKS.. read more

We have been a loyal customer to The Pool Store in La Quinta for the past several years. They have business cards in their store for Roadrunner pools. So a few days ago, our heater would not turn on. I called Roadrunner and the woman at the pool store answered. I explained what was happening and she asked what fault code I was getting on the control panel on the heater. I said "none". She said she was booked up for the day but if she had a cancellation she would let me know. A few hours later Roadrunner pools showed up unannounced. The guy said he couldn't diagnose it because of the display board being unreadable. He told m my capacitor on the blower motor got hot and melted the rubber cap. He left saying he would relay the info to the office and they would be in touch. He charged my $95.00 for the service call. I have never heard back from the office and yesterday I emailed them asking for whats next and they refuse to answer. The woman in the store is always very rude when we go in for chemical and supplies and now I am feeling like they simply are not very customer service orientated and I feel as though I have been taken advantage of with no follow up and I will be disputing the service call charge. I do not recommend the pool store in La Quinta or Roadrunner pools. Stay away. read more

have been using Road runner pools for the last couple of years and I've been very happy and I've also referred them to some clients. Just as of yesterday I had Dominic out to help with the programming Of an automatic pool control and he was on time, very knowledgeable, and efficient. Cindy in the office was very responsive and had scheduled Service for the next day. Highly recommend, Russ Clarke read more

With a 1-Star rating; I am actually being extremely overly generous. I retained their services when we moved into our home; goes to show, do your due diligence as I should have performed a bit more due diligence on them. After 4 months of tolerating their incompetence I terminated pool cleaning services. Per agreement, they came twice a week, pool tech barely spent five minutes each time, cleaning and maintaining pool. Needless to say, I noticed swamp colors stains and algae had built up at the bottom of the pool and around the entire perimeter of the pool. I immediately notified the owner who said the field service manager would come by to analyze the issue, he never came, they sent the same technician who failed to perform the weekly services to resolve the algae build up. I immediately terminated my services; not realizing my wife had already paid them for the next months' service. I mentioned to the owner to kindly return my money as I elected to terminate services, and asked her is she would like to see the video capture of the lack of services they rendered; and she stated in writing it was being processed and would return the money (that's yet to happen, even after "numerous" requests to the owner, that's called "unjust enrichment"; retaining money for services not performed.). It's not about the money, it's a matter of principle, and RoadRunner Pools from owner down have no integrity, simply crooked, Just no communication at all constant delays and lies. My advice is just do not do business with these people at all. Owner is a blatant crooked liar; Untrained staff that is most likely underpaid and treated like crap so they could give a damn about properly maintaining your pool. Good customer service starts from the top this place has no top they are all on the bottom... the level of service from RoadRunner is pretty typical now days. Consumers everywhere struggle because no one really cares. But RoadRunner seems to take it a step further with a level of incompetence companywide that is unbelievable. read more

I proved with photos and water tests that they did not do the work. Att this point i belive they have financial problems. Yesterday, (Sunday) while cleaning our salt cell, I cracked the union piece. I usually go to Leslies for my pool items but they were all out & said that all their other stores were all out. I looked online & saw that most of the other Pool stores were closed except for "The Pool Store" in La Quinta. I called and spoke to Eric who was extremely helpful and had exactly what I needed when I got there. He explained that it would need to be cut & fitted & showed me how and provided all the materials I would need. I asked if they had any techs who could come out to the house to do the work. He said they work with Roadrunner Pools and he could try to get someone out the following morning. I looked Roadrunner up on the Contractor's State licensing Board website and saw that they are licensed and in good standing. (A lot of pool services are not!). The next morning, (today), they got someone out to my house first thing. They arrived early and fixed it all in about 5 to 10 minutes. They were extremely friendly, helpful, prompt and reasonable. I highly recommend them and would use them again! read more

Very good pool service, and they took care of the bugs! I feel like they are trustworthy and care about service.

They should have a -100 stars review. They are horrible. We bought a house in Indio, CA, the seller paid them to change the salt cell in our pool. They charged for it, said that they put a new one in. We hired them to continue servicing our pool after we purchased the home. Every week we had problems with the salt cell. They charged us every time to change the fuses. We fired them. Unlucky for us our home insurance assigned them to check the salt cell. Insurance does not cover it, but we should have a 1 year warranty on the service they said they performed. We called them and someone named Cindy said that we need to contact the manufacturer of the salt cell... hello, you performed the service and was paid for it, it is under warranty and you need to honor it. Don't use this service ever, they are HORRIBLE!!! read more

I do my own day to day pool maintenance. I bought and had installed a Glacier Pool Cooler from a different pool company. When I tried to use it this summer it didn't work as advertised. The installer tried to find the problem without success. I called the manufacturer and they couldn't determine what caused the problem. I called Roadrunner Pool Services and through a trial and error process they determined a fix. Actually the owner got involved and he is very knowledgeable when it comes to physics and it was a physics problem. Bottom line, this pool services owner didn't give up until it was working correctly and charged a very fair fee for expending a lot of man hours on a cooler he didn't install. Can't thank or recommend them enough. I will enjoy a cooled pool the rest of the summer. BTW the cooler always cooled the water, just didn't shut down properly. Perfect for the desert summers. read more

Beware. Don't do business with "Cindy" or Roadrunner Pools in La Quinta. #1- They replaced a heater board with used parts, but they charged me for the cost of new parts. When I called them on it, they offered me a discount on the used board if I would accept it, but they weren't even going to inform me that they had installed a used part! Unscrupulous business practice. #2- They installed a new salt unit, and the service guys, who were nice, said they would come back out in two weeks and check the unit. They didn't come back out, and I had to call, and "Cindy" treated me badly and wanted to charge me for the service call to come back out. I explained that her workmen offered to come back out and check the unit as part of the cost of the installation, but she did not want to honor that and treated me very disrespectfully. #3- I paid for another service fee to look for a potential leek and repair the leak. Same thing. The workmen said they would come back out and check the salt levels, etc. in a week, but they never came back out, and so I called "Cindy" again, who again treated me like a shmuck, as if I was doing something wrong by following her workers' directions, and she explained she couldn't "afford" to lose a service call fee and suggested I learn to make any needed repairs, as opposed to her company honoring our contract. My new salt system still does not register properly and I am now forced to contact and pay another company to make right what Roadrunner Pools failed to install correctly. "Cindy" is not honest or user-friendly. Beware. read more

I asked for the return of my card for access and the company said he left in the fence after I explicitly left instructions to mail it to me so I would not be charged $25 for replacement. The company did not service the pool as they said they would. Being at home I can tell and SEE when somebody shows up to service the pool. The technician lied to company and the company lied to me.
