I was contacted by Lisa Hohner who bid a move for me, and I booked a move for July 22, 2023 and paid my deposit with her number 714-294-8672. 3 days before the scheduled move, I confirmed that they would be here July 22, 2023 in the window time of 8:30am-9:30am. She said yes and would confirm that Friday as well. Lisa sent a message on the day before the move to confirm, stating: "confirming for tomorrow Ruben will contact you when he's on his way +1 (323) 946-1749 Lisa, Roadrunner Movers." The morning of the move, 'Ruben' called saying he would be running a little late, but no later than 10am. 10:25am and nobody is here. So I contacted Lisa and she gave me conflicting info: First she said he was in an accident, Then she said she got in a fight with him and blocked his number. Okay, so what about my move? She offered to give me my deposit back so I could find another mover. I spoke to both her and Rich at his phone number 619-900-3286, and Rich said they couldn't make it because he was doing a move in Pasadena. That they could MaYbE make it in the evening, closer to 7pm. But that he couldn't guarantee it. I can't wait on a MAYBE. I don't feel valued as a customer at all at this point. So I am stuck scrambling for a new mover as Lisa suggested, and when I do find one and request my deposit back, like Lisa offered, she refused! She said I didn't give them a chance to fix it. Uh, you broke contract by not coming and made zero effort or had zero concern about my move. I was told they could TRY to make it, but no promises. This is a big deal. No where in our discussions does it say the deposit is nonrefundable; they broke contract by taking my money and not showing up to perform the service. I filed a police report, a complaint with the BBB, and filed a case with my bank. I asked for legal advice and they berated them as well. I began receiving threats on 7/31/23 and notified the police. DO NOT CONTRACT THEM I have been trying since December 2020 to get reimbursed for services not rendered, for a move from San Diego, California to Portland, Oregon. They charged the deposit of $684.42 on December 4th and then never called or showed up within the window of pick for the week of December 12. I called to find out what the deal was and was told that there wasn't any trucks in California. They didn't have an answer as to what to do nor about when to get a refund on services they were unable to provide. I had made reservations and talked with Charles Hawthorne Senior Relocation Specialist US DOT: 2850350  MC: 955522 Phone: 9294507070 Had email contact about the refund in January, when he said he was forwarding it to Billing. Then nothing. I emailed again in March 2021, several times I still no response. I called and finally got an answer by a gentleman name "Augburg" and he said he couldn't find me with my phone number. Then couldn't find me with my name, and then when we used the reference number he found me, but seemed not to be able to tell how much money was exchanged and continually asked if I was sure I had the correct company. Yes, the one based in Florida, NOT the one based in California (who ended up doing the job and quickly too!). I am hoping to get a response and my refund before the year is over. read more

The company showed up 24 hours before they scheduled the pick up, then wanted to charge us double the original estimate. Then after they missed the 10 day promised delivery date, they could not promise when our items would be delivered. It is so irresponsible that the company would notify us on Friday, 12/18 at 3:56 pm that they are delivering our items on Sunday, 12/20. We were told they would notify us when they left CA so we would have 4-5 days notice. Now they want to charge us $600 additional for redelivery. This have been the most unsatisfactory and unprofessional experience I have ever had with a company. Gosh, so many terrible things happened on my move, I don't know where to begin! I'll give you the highlights: After I paid my deposit, I pretty much took on the responsibility of following up with Chris Anderson (salesman), Mike Miller (logistics/sales/general manager) or Kelwin (driver/mover) every step of the way. I was told before I signed the contract that the entire process would take 5 (maybe 7) days. My pick up window on the contract was Sunday Dec 9 - Monday Dec 11 but it wasn't until after numerous follow ups and voicemails to Chris and Mike that I finally managed to coordinate a pick up "at the end of the week" - not helpful. I was forced to take matters into my own hands and reach out to the driver directly. Roadrunners did not show up until Friday, Dec. 14, which was 4 days out of the specified window. Luckily I had some flexibility in my move out. Otherwise I would have been screwed with not knowing where to put my things while I waited for them. During the pick up I asked the driver when I can expect delivery. He said early the following week, maybe around Tuesday or Wednesday. This was not ideal since that was another 5 days away at the latest and I was sleeping on an air mattress without any pillows or blankets in the middle of the Chicago winter - but there was nothing I could do about it. When Tuesday Dec. 18 rolled around and no one reached out to me, I called the driver again. He said he was still in Pennsylvania, doing a pick up. This was very frustrating to hear. I was sleeping in the cold in an empty apartment and NO ONE had bothered to call to inform me that there would be a delay. If I didn't contact the driver, I wouldn't have known where in the US my things were. When Chris sold me on their service, he told me about how many trucks they had and what a big line of business they were operating, so there wouldn't be delay in their service. Even if that were true, (which, it probably isn't since Mike Miller has three different titles that I know of) all that did nothing for me now that they prioritized more pick ups, over their commitment to getting my stuff delivered to me on time. When my belongings finally came, it was Christmas Eve, Monday Dec 24. Counting from the last day of my original quoted pick up window of Dec 11, IT TOOK 14 DAYS FOR MY THINGS TO ARRIVE. The driver came with one helper that didn't worked for RoadRunners. He was obviously frustrated that the driver spoke in circles and was slow on the paperwork. He became impatient and said at several points that it was taking too long, and that he wanted to leave. *face palm*. The driver would also relay that message to me and uhhhh I should not need to deal something like that as the customer. After all my things were in my apartment, I discovered that 3 of my dining chairs were left behind in the other truck, which the driver admitted was his fault. It made me very nervous that more of my belongings were left behind so I tried to unpack as much as I could to make sure that everything was accounted for. Did I mention that it was Christmas Eve at this point? He was leaving town the next day so it was a nerve-filled holiday of frantic unpacking as fast as possible. During this process, I discovered that my air purifier was damaged. See photo. It's made of metal so it must have been dropped from pretty high up in order to cause that kind of damage. One of my mirrors also arrived broken...I paid too much money for my things to me handled so carelessly. When I brought this up to Mike Miller, I was met with the worst customer service I've encountered in a very long time. Nothing seemed to be their fault and did not take any responsibility for the miscommunication or lack there of. For my broken things, he only offered a generic email apology. I tried to reason with him, only to be dismissed. I left that conversation feeling like they're going to keep making the same mistakes over and over again.. I am surprised to see so many good reviews, because working with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. I could write an essay on the problems I had throughout this move, but the long and short of it is the communication throughout the process was horrid, my pick up was late causing me to miss it (luckily my roommate was still living in the house and could handle it) and my delivery was 2 weeks later than expected. These guys are scam artists. My move was handled by these guys. They got the job from another broker new city moving who were a much bigger frauds than these guys. They were supposed to pick up my stuff on jan 19th. But I got a call that it will be jan20th. They said we will be there between 9 and 11am. They did not show up. I had to call me city customer support to see where these guys were and they said their window moved from 12 to 3. Guess what no show at 3. After multiple calls from me I was told they were on their way and driver will call me. They finally showed up at 5pm. Then they started loading and they said you will exceed storage by 20 cubic feet. So I had to pay extra for that. I clearly said that I wont be there in nj till jan 25th. I get an email saying erik will be my driver. I call him no answer. Then on jan 24th I get a call from another guy ricardo and says he is on his way to deliver. I said I'm not there till evening, which I clearly specified in contract. He said he will see what he can do. Then he calls me on 24th evening and says he is on his way. I wait and after 30 mins says he cannot since he could not load my stuff. He will deliver next week. I wait till 30th and call this guy and at this point road runner and new city had washed their hands off and the frauds charged me 110 dollars since they put my stuff in storage which I have disputed. Even after this they washed their hands off. Then on feb 5th after calling ricardo repeatedly he said a guy named Sean will reach out to you and your stuff will be delivered by feb 12th. I wait for his call and he calls me on Feb 9th and said he will come on 11th or 12th and guess what he charges me another 300 for redelivery fee. But atleast they delivered my stuff intact. The job is outsourced with no accountability. The loading guys and delivery guys were ok. Hence the one star. The company as such does not care once they get ur deposit and you are at the mercy of the drivers. Dont deal with them. read more

A TOTAL NIGHTMARE- PLEASE DON'T USE THESE MOVERS. This was the worst experience. My items were damaged, the job was sold to another company, and they had zero support through the move. Mitch the salesperson said they'd be there every step of the way and it was a total lie. The owner Mike said they had a truck drive under a bridge on the way to my place that is why they showed up two days late for my pick up and I had to be charged extra by landlords to stay. So far, road runner moving and storage has only lived up to the latter. My stuff is definitely in storage, but they forgot about the moving part. Sales rep named Justin reached out to me over 2 weeks ago after filling out one of those online "quotes". It was April 25th and I wanted to ship my belongings from Florida to Los Angeles ASAP as I was moving into my apartment May 1st. I realized that was a long shot and I had companies tell me they could leave immediately and be there within 6 days but Road Runner had good reviews and Justin told me it would be there between 10 and 14 days. Not ideal, but for the good price and the good reviews I accepted. Liam and his crew were to pick up my belongings by 8pm. They showed up on April 27th at 11:30pm. My family, who were orchestrating the move in Florida as I was already in LA, were annoyed but thought it was a last ditch effort to get my stuff out the next day. NOPE! It's now May 11th and my stuff is still in storage. They don't even have a truck coming out west! I've called several times asking for a date and they just don't have one. I have been living in an empty apartment with my dog on a blow up bed for 11 days with no end in sight. Mike Miller, their director of operations, only tells you about the problems his company is facing and I've yet to hear how it's my problem or what the solution is. DON'T TAKE THE JOB IF YOU CAN'T PERFORM IT. Liam's crew wrapped my stuff up really well, and I have all the pictures. It looks good - if only they could perform the essential part of a moving company, which is to you know - to MOVE IT. BAIT AND SWITCH! Worst moving experience ever.. They aren't even the ones who moved our stuff, they contracted out to other movers. Quoted us $2,000 over the phone, arrived 10 hours late and said they had made a clerical error and changed the price to $4,000. Once they had our stuff on the truck they called back to change the price to over $5,000. Said they were going to keep our stuff in storage until we called for it in California, then delivered it out of the blue when we weren't ready for it yet. Said they'd be back in 3 days after we were ready, no return phone call when we called multiple times and texted multiple times. Roadrunner says to just contact the driver, we've tried multiple times but it just rings and then is picked up by voicemail, in Spanish. They still have our stuff and have not delivered. Reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and beginning legal action. Update! They finally called back and said they didn't know where the driver was but he had dropped off our stuff at a storage facility. We asked where and they said they're not going to tell us until we pay the rest of the money. And now there will be an additional one to $2,000 redelivery charge. We see the attorney tomorrow. This really sucks. Also, just to be clear, we used the Roadrunner Moving Service out of South Florida. I don't know if they have different franchises or just different offices but they seem to be in many different places, and I believe they've been under many different names. Someone told me that's what they do... Once they get too many negative reviews and too many complaints with the Better Business Bureau, they just changed the name of the company and move on and start over. But just hearsay. We just want our stuff for the price we agreed to, before they had it, jacked the price...and basically extorted us. read more

First I wanna say these reviews is to help other people from the headache we had from dealing with bad companies. This company has hire people to write fake positive reviews on google and BBB website and that's a fact! One person even wrote they was solicited to do so on google you will see it for yourself if you scroll thru it. My delivery date was supposed to be 8/15 and i still haven't received my furniture and belongings! I should of known they was gonna give me problems when they contract gave them a window for delivery between 9/30 to 10/30 mind you we still in August. What moving company needs 2 months to deliver your belongs but over the phone and thru email they told me next day delivery which was a bald face lie! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Showed up 2 hours late, WITH NO WARNING. Movers, who would not really communicate with us, unloaded HALF of our belongings (there was one mover doing this). One item was the bed, which they were supposed to put together as our contract states and we paid for - they DID NOT do this and refused. At this time, 4 ppl were her and no one would communicate with us. Then then LEFT WITH NO WARNING AT ALL. We called stating HALF our stuff was missing, one of which is a ten foot bar - I don't see how they could miss this. The mover REFUSED to return, saying they didn't have our stuff and making jokes like "You will see your stuff June 2020, good luck" and would hang up. The guy then blocked my number after calling and begging them to return so that I could see the stuff in the truck. They say they scan your things on departure and arrival, clearly this does not happen. We are MISSING about 20 items. Tv, boxes, bags, vacuums, etc. I have my own inventory list which I crossed off when itms walked through the door and we are missing tons. MOVER WERE EXTREMELY SHADY AND LEFT WITH NO WARNING - PROBABLY DROPPED OUR STUFF AT GOD KNOWS WHERE OR WILL BE SELLING IT. SCAMMERS - DO NOT USE. On January 24, 2020 job #3523095 quote for move cost was $3404.50 and I made a deposit of $1134.83. An email was sent on February 8, 2020 to William B with Roadrunner Moving & Storage stating several items had been sold prior to move and the freight would be less than quoted - he replied stating it was too late to change as movers would arrive the next day. On February 9, 2020 a 26' box truck from Route 66 Moving & Storage arrived at 16:40 to pick up household items. Roadrunner Moving & Storage never informed me the shipment had been brokered to another mover. Upon arrival, R Edwards with Route 66, walked through the house and immediately stated I would now be paying for 1500 cf instead of the 1208 cf as quoted. Due to this, the quote was now increased by $1880.51. Yes, it was a forced signature as I had no other option on a Sunday evening, Mr Edwards stated they would leave and not load my items, with my house being sold, needed to vacate and Mr. Edwards stated I could dispute the added fee. Once I signed the revised rate sheet, Route 66 began loading my household items. I went outside and looked inside the truck and noticed there was another shipment in truck. Mr. Edwards stated they had an earlier pickup and it took up 6' of space - which leaves me with 20' of space. There is no way 1500 cf would fit into 20' of space and once all items were loaded there was still ONE foot left in the back. Route 66 movers left at approximately 20:00. Email to William B @ Roadrunner was sent on February 13, 2020 stating Route 66 overcharged for pickup and refused to alter their revised quote even though the full 26' box truck was not utilized between my freight and another homeowner. On February 14th, John @ Roadrunner called and stated he would send a document to provide a $297 discount. Emails were sent on February 17 & 24 to Mike Miller, Manager @ Roadrunner disputing the overcharge issued by Route 66 employee, R Edwards. Neither of these emails were responded by anyone with Roadrunner - EVER! NO COMMUNICATION WITH ROADRUNNER PERTAINING TO OVERCHARGE UNTIL APRIL 22, 2020 EMAIL TO MICHAEL MILLER. He replied on the 23rd noting receipt of email but nothing further on issue. Email sent May 12, 2020 to Mike Miller providing delivery date of May 25, address and gated community information - NO REPLY. Second request for response sent May 18 - NO REPLY. Third request sent May 19 - Mr. Miller replied shortly after stating received. On May 26, 2020, Kevin D @ Roadrunner called requesting delivery address....PROVIDED TO M MILLER ON MAY 12????? From May 26 to June 1 - several emails sent to Roadrunner requesting delivery update. May 28th M Miller stated it "must be on route" and would check and let me know - he did not. On May 29th, I called and spoke with Rockwell who finally informed me the shipment was still in Florida. Email of June 2, 2020 from Roadrunner stating shipment had left Florida and driver, Kaduri, would call the day prior to provide ETA and schedule delivery. On June 4, received call and stated shipment would deliver Friday, June 5th in the A.M. At 9pm, received text stating the shipment would not deliver as the driver was delayed at previous delivery destination and was still there - in DETROIT. I would call "first thing in the morning" to advise delivery time - never did. I called Roadrunner multiple times on June 5th - no response. I texted @ 11:02, 12:23, 13:02 - no response until 14:31 stating driver should be able to arrive at 18:30. I also texted Kaduri, the driver, on June 5 @ 13:47 asking for his projected delivery time - no response. JUNE 6, 2020 - having moved FIVE times in the past TEN years.....this driver was unbelievable. At first meet, Kaduri states he won't be able to back into the cul-de-sac and I would need to pay him at least $2000 to rent a Uhaul 26' box truck. I informed him that wouldn't happen as I was already paying $1880.51 more than original quote due to Route 66 pickup guy and Roadrunner was informed of delivery information on May 12th. Then he comes down to $1500...then $1000...then $200. The lumpers began to unload and almost finished when driver locks doors. The local police were called. After 1 1/2 hrs, the driver finally unlocked the doors. The damage to my personal items is beyond description. Filed a claim and these scammers only want to give me $74. They were helpful from the beginning quote to the finishing move, and had a lot of respect and care for every request I had. I'd take the time to write a detailed review but I suspect the company will change it's name and phone number pretty soon to evade such reviews. They moved us from Florida to Kentucky about three months ago. They sent a professional team of four men to wrap and load our belongings. They took it to their Miami warehouse, off loaded it and later loaded it onto a larger truck for the trip to Ky. When they had the truck loaded in Florida, they then came in and let us know that our load was larger than anticipated (and somehow that was our fault even though we had given them a detailed and complete list of our furniture) and that we were going to have to pay them an additional approximately $900 in order for the move to proceed. And of course our belongs were now on the truck as hostage for that payment. So we paid them. Anyway, when they arrived in KY with our load, they did not have any professional moving here to off load and carry into our new home. Instead, the driver, who was not a professional mover himself, simply place a Craig's List ad for people to show up to our address, which a good size team of them did. The good news was that we only really had one piece of furniture that was completely destroyed. Actually, make that two. But since one of them was my grandmother's rocker, I paid a quality furniture builder to put it back together. We had a couch that had damage to the leather, two end tables that were severely damaged, more lamp shades that didn't survive the trip than did, and a 48" flat screen TV that was destroyed. Before the move, at the FL location, the lead mover briefly glossed over the insurance options saying that most people take the lesser option which I think was under $100 as opposed to the other one that was about $800. So we took the lesser option. In short, the insurance policy pays about $.69 per pound for goods that are damaged or destroyed. We figure we would be paid about $150. But we're not going to file the claim because they require purchase receipts or meaningful appraisals, photos, etc. I figure that if I take the time out from my business, I'll lose another $1000 in income (I'm in sales, so no work, no income.) I recently needed to move out of state from Orlando, FL to south GA. I spoke w/ Chris, at length several times regarding my moving. I requested packing and moving services. I even sent pictures of everything that needed to be moved. He drastically underestimated my quote and I ended up owing an additional $1234 at the time of moving. They only accepted cash for delivery of your things and I was completely thrown off by the additional cost. Tried to contact the company to receive explanation, but no one has returned a call. I totally got ripped off by this company. On the other hand, the actual movers and packers were very good and I would give them a 5 star. Very professional, courteous and efficient. I want to prevent anyone from making the terrible mistake I made by using this moving company! The whole process of using this company has been a terrible experience, the most underhanded sneaky and manipulative process I've ever had! When I originally called to obtain a quote, certain things should have been explained and as well as when I booked the deposit. However, so much information was withheld that I was not able to make an informed decision about using movers. First of all, I was estimated $1600 on my first quote and upon booking my deposit. I was given the heads up that the price may vary depending on how large of a space need and I realized that since it was given over the phone that the cu.ft. is only an estimate, however, to the layman that doesn't use cu.ft in everyday work - how was I to calculate the cu. ft correctly? Also, I used the example when describing my belongings that most of it fit inside a 5x5 storage space. My price doubled from my original quote! If I knew that was a possibility or that I won't find out until the day the movers come to pick up my belongings what the final pricing would be, perhaps I would of went another route, however, that information wasn't given to me and my options were robbed from me. I was not told that everything needed to be in boxes or that certain items will be charged extra when wrapped by the movers. For example, when I called for a quote, I described a large mirror (like 6ft tall) would be making the move. I was not told that the mirror would need to be in a "box" and an additional charge would be added for the movers to "box" it. I had moved this mirror twice across FL and what we did was place it between two mattress and it made it to the location flawlessly and we are not professional movers so I did not see what the difference would be. Therefore, I had to leave behind several items with one day notice (day before Christmas eve too) before I was schedule to leave the state. My price had already doubled and I could not afford to add additional cost because something was made of glass or was to awkward to fit in a box but they had boxes they could fit in?? So I left several important things behind. Also, anything that wasn't made of real wood, I was informed on the day of pick up, would probably break on the trip over and should be left behind. This would have been fine if I was told previously when packing up my belongings and planning for my new place but that is also another added expense, I had to tack on that I was not expecting. Additionally, the movers came several hours late. I missed an appointment for my car. A checkup prior to traveling 3000 miles and since it was the day before Christmas eve, I was unable to reschedule before I left. The drop off date was not discussed during the initial quote or deposit call. I was told that it would be there at a certain date with no additional information given. Again, as with everything else I wasn't informed until after all my stuff was in the truck and the process was almost completed that my belongings will be delivered with a time frame of 30 days! That is ridiculous piece of information to leave to the last second to inform someone. I could have planned differently!!! If I knew this, I could have planned so many things differently, to the way I packed, what I took with me or if I wanted to use these services at all. But I was denied this information and cost me more money in the end because I had to buy items that I had packed and needed if I knew i wasn't going to have my stuff for up to 30 days. I could have shipped some stuff, planned to buy new stuff an avoided bringing stuff in general if i wasn't going to have it available to me in the first 30 days. I received my stuff, 5 days prior to the 30-day window. Of course, the policy says no guarantees of delivery dates - very cute telling someone that after everything is in the truck and part of the last few sheets of papers signed! This nightmare isn't over. Several things were broken, and my large boxes looked like they had been smashed and thrown around multiple times. However, after this experience I wasn't surprised, but I was outraged to find that 4 boxes are missing (valued at about $650) and a pair of expensive sneakers were removed out of a box I had already taped up. The reason I am certain about the particular box it was in is because everything was labeled but also because I used the shoes the day prior to the movers arriving and that was one of the last boxes I taped up. I called when I immediately noticed that 2 boxes were missing about 3 hours after the movers dropped off my stuff. The mover reported that he didn't see any additional boxes but will look.he never called back. I have to say, of the few moving companies I've worked with in the last couple of years, this one has to be the best! They're super friendly, affordable, and work hard. $500 in hidden cost. Had to throw out my mattress just to keep them off the ledge. When I asked for an intinerary to prove out the cubic feet additions, I was told they don't provide that. I would't trust the positive reviews - this is the worst company in the history of mankind... Just moved from FL to SC and used Road Runner because they had the best price... But they provided by far the worst customer experience ever. Consider this: - The grossly underestimated our truck size and told us on moving day that we need to pay thousands more for a second truck - I now believe from my experience and reading other reviews that is part of their business plan - underestimate, provide the best price and then upcharge the customer on moving day when they have all the leverage. One of the workers even said this truck if for a three bedroom home - we had a six bedroom house. - No promises were kept like emptying the drawers, wrapping the mattresses, putting protective cardboard on the edges of the furniture, and much more - We had over $3k of damaged furniture - not just dings and scratches but broken wood (thick wood), severely dented metal items, bent steel on our bikes, and more. The force required for some of this damage is remarkable - it was like they literally tried to brake stuff. I have all the pictures to prove this. - We had over $1k of missing items including a brand new flat screen TV, all of the slats for our beds, and several boxes of kitchen goods. - On delivery day the crew chief demanded we pay the balance which was over $3k in cash even though our agreement clearly says we can provide a money order - He threatened over the course of several hours to leave with our stuff if we didn't pay cash - it was too the point of feeling intimated and bullied. What company demands $3k in cash and why?? - Also on deliver day, they refused to take the boxes to their designated rooms although that was another promised service. They just shoved everything into our downstairs rooms - it took hours to get everything into their rooms. -All calls to the company were met with sarcasm, rudeness and zero care. They said disgraceful things to my wife to the point of tears. -And of course their process for requesting reimbursement is ridiculous - but we've jumped through every hoop and are getting zero response. read more

The roadrunnermovingandstorage.com by far has made it the worst experience ever. They are extremely disorganized, don't keep promises and change the pick up or delivery dates without communicating them with you. My work was supposed to be done in 6 day window, but it's been taking 17 days so far! No delivery yet... Moving is not easy, but Road Runner Moving and Storage made my move easy from start to finish. I really didn't want to use a moving company. I had planned to just rent a truck and do it the old fashioned way. I went to pick up my truck rental though and they didn't have the truck available that I reserved online and told me I had to drive from Miami to Orlando to pick up a 26ft truck and then come back. Absolutely freakin ridiculous! Nikki and I had spent some time together in the preliminary stages of me deciding what I'd do and I decided at that point to call her back and see if they could do the move for me. After explaining my situation Nikki was nice enough to help me out with the price to fit my budget and 3 guys came two days later to load the truck. All of my items just arrived today in San Diego and were in good shape. If you're thinking of using Road Runner Moving and Storage, go for it!!! read more

WARNING. Do NOT use this company. This place is running a scam and will steal your money. I have a novel's worth of complaints but I will try to keep it short: It started with a phone call to the sale's department. I gave the man I spoke to (whose name I have but wont dox here) a VERY detailed list of all the furniture and property we needed to move. Measurements and everything. Everything sounded great. When the movers came to pick up our stuff, the foreman brought his own convoluted inventory list... that was conveniently short all of our largest pieces of furniture. He said each extra cubic feet (CUBIC FEET people.. not square feet!) that wasn't on his inventory list would cost over $6. Listen to me... I am talking a 6 foot tall wardrobe, 4 feet wide and two feet deep... and a large tv stand, among a bunch of other things like side tables and chairs... were all missing from this list that I don't even know where he got it from. We ended up having to leave behind a lot of our furniture and applicances because he would not listen to us and was going to charge $6.25 per CUBIC FOOT extra for these items that I had clearly described to the guy on the phone. At the end of it all, he charged us $422 MORE THAN OUR ESTIMATE!! AND THAT WAS AFTER WE LEFT BEHIND SO MUCH OF OUR OWN PROPERTY!!! I was calling their office the entire time they were there and someone kept telling me they'd have to call me back. Spoiler alert: they never called me back, and every time I have tried to call them since, they hang up on me after 1 ring. I have left voicemails, emailed them and called them countless times and gotten no response. This isn't even the start of it... -After scamming us out of hundreds of dollars, two of the movers got into a screaming, shouting fight that almost turned violently physical as they were moving our stuff onto the truck. -We wrote on our contract that they could not deliver before 4/3/2018 because we would not even be at our destination (across the country) before then. Of course, the previous weekend (3/31) I got a phone call from some driver saying he was going to deliver our stuff the NEXT DAY. I was like, no sir, you are not.. we have a written contract saying you are not to deliver before the 3rd. The guy didn't give a f u c k and threatened to drive off with our stuff. I told him don't you even dare.. we will sue you, and he said he was going to leave our stuff at a storage facility nearby then but we would have to pay for the storage. At this point my blood was boiling. It was an absolute nightmare dealing with these people. Every single step of the way. HORRENDOUS company. Do yourself a favor and keep scrolling. I haven't even explained half of the problems we had here. ***They broke A LOT of our stuff and after repeated demands for some kind of compensation, or even a response, I have heard NOTHING back from them. TLDR: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A SCAM AND WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY, BREAK YOUR PROPERTY AND RENEG ON THEIR CONTRACTS ALL WHILE THREATENING TO HOLD YOUR STUFF HOSTAGE. This is a typical moving scam, read their agreement first, they cannot even guarantee time frame neither for pickup nor for delivery. We were set for a date, all packed, they suddenly say they cannot do it, then promised next day - no sign of movers, then again next day promised, the driver called said his truck broke. We have moved many times and this company was a NIGHTMARE. They gave us a binding estimate, and then sent a company we did not feel comfortable with (Direct Movers- the worst) to pick up our furniture. They did not show up in the time frame they promised, could not read the contract to put the address in their GPS correctly, spoke little English, and then proceeded to nearly double the price to take the very same 7 pieces of furniture which were in the bid. We didn't have that kind of money and Roadrunner did not defend or help us- just lots of excuses about their own broken trucks, and then would not refund the deposit we had paid Roadrunner for the move which did not happen. The movers did not do one minute of work and yet Roadrunner refused to refund the deposit. Can't say how unprofessional and sleazy both of these companies are- clearly a bait and switch. We were supposed to be moving furniture after my Mom's move into nursing care so this made a difficult situation absolutely horrifying. Please avoid these companies. There are honest, reliable companies our there (Mayflower for example)- only use them. read more

Miami to Charlotte. Timing lies, price gouging, inexperienced & sloppy packing, broken and missing belongings, scheduling chaos, late arrival, skimpy supplies (I was asked to go buy boxes at Lowes since the "warehouse" didn't send enough for my job. :( *astounding since Slick-sales-Chris and I worked on the list to get it "right" for 3 weeks!!! 80% of my move from Miami, went into storage in Charlotte. It was a nightmare at the Miami end and this week, we are emptying storage into our new home and reliving the nightmare all over again, as we discover broken, damaged and missing property. Horrible leadership- trickles down to apathetic workforce. Shame on this company. *one example of price gouging on the day of the move. a. Sales-Chris and I were meticulous in creating our bid-list. b.I told him I had 2 leather barstools- no arms - 24" wide seat. c.They were listed and our estimate indicated their cost accordingly. d.On the day of the move, "crew leader" said barstools were not priced right - their back was not straight ~ but had a slight curve to it, and that takes more room in the truck. This happened many more times on moving day - resulting in an extra $1,000. And of course - we the client have no option on moving DAY !!! I truly believe that is their "target-ad-on" and business model - for every job. My family didn't deserve the stress you perpetrated upon us last May, and we are disgusted to be reliving it and the memory of our interaction with your company again, with every scarred, chipped, missing and broken item we are unpacking, a year later. The crew Road Runner sent out to pack my belongings up did an absolutely fantastic job. Every piece of furniture was wrapped, mattress placed in plastic bags etc. The crew was very courteous and professional in every aspect of the move. Please do not use this company. I lost everything I own. I literally have nothing left from my home. They stated that it was destroyed during the move because they had an accident and crashed into another truck. However, many expensive items from my home are also missing. We paid them almost $4,000 for the move which was double what they initially quoted us. I would not wish this moving experience on my worst enemy...they are truly a nightmare to deal with. Please do yourself a favor and use another company. Beware that they will switch names of the company and create false positive reviews. Take pictures and do your own personal inventory of the items. Mike Andrews promised the world, the movers came late causing us to reschedule airline flights. Mike promised to send a check to cover the charges on Jan 6, 2018, still have not received a cent. Movers were wild, kept adding charges, wouldn't take everything. My items finally came two weeks after they were promised, causing me to miss several days of work, some items broken, others missing. As of March 16, 2018 I have still not received the check for airline expenses although Mike continues to promise by phone that the check is in the mail. Would never recommend this company. read more

The movers were on time, professional, efficient and thorough. - Came on time as promised & immediately start the work - They wrapped everything perfectly and it took them only 30 mins. The movers packaged my whole things neatly and tied them together so they would not move. When the movers arrived at my new place, they unloaded quickly and efficiently with care. My daughter had items in storage in FL that needed to be moved to OH. She chose Road Runner over many other estimates because after supplying them with photos and a list of items they quoted $1,700.00. After loading the items on 8/3/18 they said they need and additional $1,200.00 more???? She had no appliance, no living room furniture, just 2 bedroom furniture,small 2 chair kitchen table,stackable washer/dryer, misc boxes. We expected a few hundred dollars more but note $1,200.00 more. She said she would complain to be BBB. They then gave her a $300.00 discount with BLACKMAIL & HUSH MONEY after signing a waiver that she would not complain to BBB or any other place.
