They have excellent burgers. Definitely the best burgers in the area. The customer service is phenomenal. Thank you to Shannon for consistent excellent customer service.

Just a little diner in Dayton Nevada on highway 50 but it produces the most delicious breakfasts. The restaurant is open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there are half a dozen tables and a counter with chairs. The owner is always there serving breakfast and lunch to her patrons. The coffee is delicious and hot and constantly being refilled in your cup. Today we decided to try the chicken fried steak and the biscuits and gravy. Both platters were overflowing with good food. there are numerous options to choose from and numerous sides to go with plus loads of fresh homemade bread to accompany your meal. The restaurant is clean and very cutely designed as a roadside cafe. You will not leave hungry and the prices are great. I highly recommend you checking this spot out.

The new Roadrunner cafe in Dayton Nevada on the loneliest highway 50. Inside the casino Carson Plains. Good parking for the small town, but inside an older casino that smells of smoke. Bathrooms are close to restaurants, seats about 60 or more guests. Sunday had a 30 minute wait. Service was good and friendly. Coffee could be better and food was really good and priced reasonably but a bit high for this area. This restaurant is geared towards conservative politically. TV inside with local channels that was covering news. Clean, fast and friendly atmosphere.

Roadrunner was clean and the upgrades to the restaurant look nice. Shannon is a wonderful and friendly server. She definitely makes the visit worth the time. Today I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and substituted fries for the potatoes. The burrito was ok. There was very little bacon and the burrito was overall bland. The burrito was large in size. I was craving fries and so I was sad when most of my fries were extremely undercooked to the point of raw. I have heard that the food is better when one of the guys are cooking instead of the lady that was today so I hope I will experience one of them cooking on my next visit.

If you have ever been to Dayton NV you know very well the options for lunch are slim to none. Roadrunner Cafe is one of the two non fast food spots in town. It's a small hole in an old strip mall. Pulling in you know it's gonna be a place where you are going to get simple food. No fancy's sauces, no fancy options and nothing "organic" lol. Yes, they are not spotless clean but they are also not filthy. Before even walking in you know what you are going to get inside cleanliness wise. So judging or expecting it to be spotless clean is foolish and honestly dumb imo to rate/judge. Everything is old school diner and honestly if you complain a little too much I'm sure they going to old school kick you out before giving you a discount. I came with a colleague and we both had similar expectations. We wanted someone fresh cooked for us and that's exactly what we got. For the same price as a fast food combo we got a fresh southwest scramble with a coffee. I'll take that 10/10 times over some fast food garbage. I am not in Dayton very often for lunch but I can see myself coming back.

Visiting family in Dayton, Nevada and they took me to this place for dinner .it was a cool Sports…read moreBar on one side and a comfortable dining area on the other. We went for the dining section. The service was excellent. Both, our busboy (Jeff) and server (Aisha), were extremely personable and on top of all of our needs. It took me a couple extra minutes to decide due to the super vast men but I eventually decided on the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with Shredded Cabbage, and French Fries with a side of Bleu Cheese Dressing. The Chicken's lightly breaded and tossed in a tasty, spicy Buffalo Sauce, topped with crumbled Bleu Cheese on a French Roll. I had them add the shredded Cabbage. The Chicken was very juicy and tender, and full of flavor. It was a bit on the salty side though. The Fries were hot and perfectly crispy, and very nicely seasoned. They went great with the Bleu Cheese Dressing. My Stepmom got a Grilled Cheese with Ham, and American and Cheddar Cheeses. My Dad had 2 Chicken Tacos with Rice and Beans. They were both very happy with their choices. This is a fantastic establishment and I highly recommend it. I'm hoping to hit it on more time before I leave town.

We sat ourselves, received chips and salsa fairly promptly, and then...nothing. No menu, no water, and no waitress. After 20 minutes of absolutely no service, we decided to leave. The place wasn't busy, so I honestly don't understand how we could be completely overlooked for that long. The chips and salsa were the only positive part of the experience. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

I ordered the Ruben sandwich and was shocked by the size of the thing. It was hard for me to wrap my mouth around but as the owner says, "we make sure you get your bang for your buck." I left full with a new connection to the community and a lot of background to the restaurant/ bar as well as the town. I would definitely stop in again and would love to try more items on their new menu! On Saturday it looks like they have live music and with their 15 burger menu I know this is a spot my husband will want to check out.

There is a new staff and we have noticed a slight decrease in the attentiveness and friendliness with this staff. Today I ordered water (they were out of Dragon's Milk beer) and a French Dip sandwich (no onions). The sandwich was delicious. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The cheese was perfectly melted. The toasted yet fluffy bread complemented the sandwich perfectly as did the rich, umami au jus. I am glad that under new ownership the food quality has not gone down and I look forward to my next meal at The Dayton Taphouse.

Reservations are definitely a must here, as was on display the Friday night we went when the place…read morewas completely packed, including the first-come, first-served bar area. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and she did a great job walking us through the day's specials as well as some of her favorite picks. I started with the In Crowd cocktail and really enjoyed it. The coconut, basil, and bitters balanced beautifully with the gin, making for a super refreshing drink that felt especially perfect for spring or summer weather. We followed our server's advice and ordered four items, two larger plates and two starters, and everything was delicious. Here's the breakdown: Trout Dip: Fantastic smoky, fishy flavor in all the right ways, served with crostinis. The only small nitpick was that the crostinis were overdone for my taste and shattered loudly when bitten into. Grilled Prawns: Super meaty and seasoned and sauced perfectly, with a bed of slaw that balanced the dish nicely. Scallops: Seared to perfection and in an addicting red Thai curry sauce. I was intrigued by the combo of kimchi, grits, and curry and have to say that it somehow blends amazingly well. Lamb Chops: Cooked to a perfect medium rare, expertly seasoned, with little gaminess and a cooling yogurt sauce that really brought the dish together. All in all, it was a fantastic meal and easy to see why this place is such a favorite among both locals and tourists. The food, the drinks, and the service all come together to make this a great option for any occasion from a casual night out (us) to celebrating something memorable like a graduation (several were happening while we were there).

The stuffed Spanish piquillo peppers went well with the salad. Our last three dishes were the ribs, grilled prawns and the ricotta gnuddi. The ribs fell off the bone, which I consider perfect, without being overcooked. The grilled prawns were good but we didn't care for the slaw that came with it. Another fav was the gnuddi. We were pretty happy with our dishes. The server was attentive and explained several dishes. It is always a good idea to make a reservation, especially on the weekends and busy seasons. They have a bar, high tops and a regular dining area but keep in mind the place isn't huge.
