I came for the beer specials, which were $7 pitchers of Newcastle and $1.50 TALL pints of Busch Lite. Why would I drink a Busch Lite? I'd already had a 40 and some E&J and a Stella and wanted to drink more. Don't oppress me! I'm told liquor drinks are about half the price of similar products downtown. The kitchen seems to be open late, and they don't mind serving up school pizza for $1.50 a slice. This pool hall had been around the corner for years, known as Breakers. The new room is big, bright, open, and bedecked in new wood paneling. A pub it's not, but it looks nice. This space had been all sorts of dives over the years (swingers club, gay bar, Marine bar, et al), but this joint is tidy and a short distance from campus. Worth checking out!

I would recommend the pub quiz, "Smarty Pants," on offer on Tuesdays which features free beer for the winners of every round and generally pretty interesting questions (though focused heavily on "trivia" as opposed to knowledge).

It was great, and I loved it so much that I came back later that evening to get another one. As I was sitting at my table enjoying my spectacular lunch, I noticed that they were playing some great tunes. Isn't it nice when you find a place with food that tastes great, and people who work there with great taste in music? How great can the food be, really? Um, pretty freaking great, actually. I got a fish sandwich, which was a long filet of battered and fried fish, served on an ultra-soft hoagie roll, with a little lettuce and tartar sauce inside. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, and flaky and soft on the inside. It's the type of thing that I didn't want to stop eating, because the combination of textures was just perfect. Handhelds are served with a side, and I chose the side Caesar salad. It was an OK Caesar, and it did its job to satisfy my CaeSal craving. It comes with red onions on top, which is a choice. The service here was great. The restaurant has a big bar in the middle, with TVs showing sports. The whole place is surrounded by windows, so you can see out into downtown Muncie.

After 15 minutes I spoke to a young woman who was bussing the table behind us and told her we had not yet seen a member of the wait staff. She said she would look into it. Five more minutes went by and I stopped the hostess and told her we had not seen a waiter. She said she would look into it. Another five minutes goes by and finally Isaiah stopped at our table, apologized for our wait and took our drink order. He asked if we were there for the band and I said, "No, we are here for dinner." We ordered two Bantams. Finally, at 6 p.m. we left. Our beers never arrived. There was no apology from the hostess and we let the waiting customers know unhappy we were with the service. No one should have to wait for 30 minutes for a beer at a brewery. A friend and I were immediately greeted and seated in a booth. Not a big lunch crowd, but they had business. My table as well as the adjacent area was clean. Our friendly female waitress took drink orders and provided menus. My friend immediately decided on their special Bourbon burger, I chose the chicken sandwich. I slipped off to wash my hands and the restroom was spic and span with proper supplies. Both plates hit the table in around 20 minutes. Everything was correct and hot.
