After dropping materials on my face, she did not even bother to say goodbye or walk me out. I still tipped kindly but noticed that my eyebrows really hurt. When I went home, I had a large burn underneath my eyebrow. I immediately went back and asked to speak to a manager about the burn that was beginning to ooze under my eye. The lady at the front desk said she was the manager but did not know the protocol for if someone was burned besides to put a note in my client portal to not put me with Andrea again. She also said she would give me my money back however she technically could not give me a wax pass back so really there was no solution. At this point I asked what their burn protocol was and they said that they did not have one, and she tried putting a tester product that the general public uses on the open wound. I could not think of anything more unsafe for an open wound. I left asking the manager to contact me and she never did. Not only is this extremely unsafe, but I am beyond disappointed that a company does not have any protocol for burning someone's face/eyes. The lack of accountability is absolutely gross for this company and I understand why people are not continuing with European Wax Center. If it were me, I would go to the threading center two stores down.

I was able to book an appointment day of through the website which was super convenient. After checking in, I waited for maybe a minute or two before being introduced to my stylist, Gaetano. Right away he sat me down and started inspecting my hair (it was clear I hadn't been in for a trim in quite some time...busted!). He asked me what I was looking for and made suggestions for a cut and style. During the wash, he used a shampoo and conditioner that was particular to my hair needs. The head and neck massage was much needed and so good! Gaetano took time and care cutting my hair, and it was clear it's something he's passionate about. After a blow out, he even curled and styled it for me! The haircut was amazing, but chatting with Gaetano was the cherry on top. He's originally from Rome, and moved here for a better life for his children and family. We discussed our love for Italy and the best Italian restaurants in Chicago. Throughout the haircut, he gave me tips and tricks that I can do to improve the quality of my hair. I normally book a haircut with whoever is available, but moving forward I'm definitely going to be seeing Gaetano! Grazie!

Excellent job by Julie who is also the owner. Fresh, clean salon. I had a full face threading. I don't do it regularly but occasionally as I really like the results. I think the pain is my hesitation. Normally I use pain meds and a numbing cream to tolerate the experience. Happened to walk by this place and popped in to see what her prices were like. Competitive. Too busy to get to my place across town and I really wanted/needed the threading. I was very nervous to go ahead because I wasn't planning on it i.e. NO pain protection. Wow! I can't tell you it was pain FREE but it was certainly PainLESS!. Julie really does have a light hand. She was confident and reassuring as a threader but also made me feel special as a customer. I don't trust anyone to do my eyebrows. Seriously - I've gotten them done professionally (threaded) once before and that's IT. However, my sister went here and was very happy with her experience, and I trust her judgment so I decided to give it a try. I walked in today, and she was able to take me immediately. She truly perfected my eyebrows - they look debatably better than ever (and the upper lip was free with the eyebrows.) Pretty painless, or at least as painless as one could expect. I just had my under arms waxed for the very first time and I was extremely apprehensive at first. However, I did it at Riya's Threading Salon, and Julie did a fabulous job!!! I was already going to her to have my eyebrows threaded and now I'm hooked on going there to have my under arms waxed as well...no more shaving with a razor for me!! I got my eyebrows threaded and Brazilian wax. Rashmi (we have the same name) is amazing!!! She pays attention to what you want for your brows and checks to make sure you like them. The Brazilian wax was the best one I've EVER had! Her technique gives such a clean wax.
