The quote came back for over $2,000 for brake fluid flush, transmission fluid flush, radiator flush, tire rotation, and oil change with $150 diagnostic fee that would be waived if we went ahead with the work. In giving me the estimate all the extras were rattled off without even mentioning the chief complaint, the shimmy. I paid the $170 oil change, and $50 tire rotation in lieu of the diagnostic fee. The next day I took the car to Clarendon Tire where they did a road pressure balance and resolved the tire pressure sensor for $75. I will never have Anderson Sunoco do any work on our cars. That experience was a disgusting money grab that demonstrated either dishonesty or incompetence.

Being a mechanic myself, I've always known exactly what to expect from any inspection. The last place I took my car before arriving at Liberty Gas station was in Chantilly. This "shop" shall remain nameless, but suffice to say I was less than happy when the rip off artists there waltzed out to explain to me how my car had failed, and that for only six hundred and some odd dollars worth of work I KNEW I didn't need, they could have my car "safe for the road." I kindly paid the fee, and left with my fresh new rejection sticker. Long story longer, I found Jeff's station and had him inspect my vehicle after telling him my story. He checked everything, including the "issues" the previous shop had said were the cause of my car failing their bs inspection. He came to same conclusion regarding them, and declared he knew about them, and that I wasn't the only person that had come to him after dealing with their dishonest shop. My car passed his inspection (as it should have initially), and I paid for my new state sticker and went on my way. I was really happy to have found Liberty Gas station, and an honest inspector that wasn't out to rip people off, for repairs that weren't needed. I KNEW my car didn't need those repairs, but I can't help but think about all the poor folks that other shop was taking advantage of. And before leaving my review, I read the other reviews left by people here. And most concur with my own opinion. I did notice one 2 star review was left by a young lady who stated she felt "uncomfortable", while she was there. All I can say about that is this shop is by no means "state of the art." It is an old gas station. No "customer waiting area" to speak of (unless you count the wooden park style bench right out front). And I personally think everyone there is nice, but of course my opinion is subjective. All I can say to that young lady is "would you rather be lied to, and ripped off by smiling, super friendly people in a comfortable waiting room with free coffee and tv, or given an honest diagnosis on your vehicle, with a fair repair price by a good mechanic? Even if they don't go overboard trying to make you feel "all warm, fuzzy, and comfortable." I feel good every time I go there, and I like Jeff. They are all busy there, and for good reason. Their integrity is what matters, and Jeff has it all day long. And that's what makes ME "very comfortable", every time I need to go there.

They said they had to supply the part or they couldn't warranty the work. These are the brake pads you get at the Toyota dealership. What they meant to say is they want to order parts from their supplier, like NAPA and mark up the part for a little extra cash on their ticket. I only use OEM parts on my car and I don't like mickey mouse aftermarket parts on my car. I did not have this problem with another Shell I used to use so they lost my business for a pad change, oil change, coolant flush and a brake flush. Smart

No one enjoys vehicle maintenance, but best to do preventative or anything else here. An outstanding service station, with mechanics whom are honest. That is very important. I'll be here in a couple months for my inspection to be done. They are quick getting to you if in line, or if you like drop your vehicle off, and enjoy the city parks. Gas here is competitively priced. This is a tough period, but I'd rather support this gas station. It's clean, well lit, and modern equipment including credit card security I like. Definitely convenient, and you can get a few candies and sodas in the store if you'd like. A very responsible business!

The guy on the phone forgot to factor in an $2.5 EPA fee so no big deal. As I was reaching for the bill from the first guy, a second guy said she got a "special" filter. A regular filter cost $5 and the "special" filter cost $11. I checked with a male friend, that filter costs $7.5. So the bill was adjusted to $42 (yes, the math doesn't work out). Then a third guy adjusted the bill to $45 with NO EXPLANATION. This place will ripped you off. Stay away!!!!
