She copped an attitude with me the second I walked in! I was 6 min late rushing due to an IBS issue (horrible timing I know) and she sassed me so bad for being late! Eye appts here are apparently only 10 min and they book on every 10 min. (seems like a mill to get your money) There wasn't a single other person waiting for an exam. She was so rude to me, and looked HAPPY turning me away, and didn't offer to help me reschedule or anything. DID NOT CARE AT ALL!! The red hair chick with the attitude needs to be fired as she takes joy in ruining someone's day. I will never come to vision works ever in my life! Honestly glad their glasses are flimsy and cheap anyway

She said nothing, grabbed the glasses, did a little twist and handed them back to me...still no verbal interchange. Normally, I buy frames at my optician's office but decided to shop around this time for a deal. Glad I did! There is a decent collection of frames here. Not a ton to choose from but enough of a selection that I was able to try on a few options I was interested in. Sales associates were available but not pushy. After I had some time to look on my own, the associate offered her assistance based on the criteria I had in mind. I was able to land on a fun pair of Cranberry-colored wire frame glasses. At a great price too! The associate worked to find me the best deal. The optical store was running a promotion at the time that would have saved me a lot of money on the frames. Fortunately, my eye health insurance offered a slightly better deal. I was concerned about how the thick the lenses would look in such a delicate frame. I wavered back and forth between spending the extra money to reduce the thickness of the frames. It was a significant difference. Not knowing what to do, the associate offered that if I was unhappy with the look of the cheaper option, I could simply pay what was left of the extra cost to get them replaced. Decision made. Within a week or 2 my new frames were ready. The thickness of the lenses was no bother and I didn't need to spend the extra money. It was nice to know though that I wasn't stuck with them if I hated them. The associate quickly fitted the eyeglass arms to my ears and I was on my way. They were very supportive in how the final frame looked. Pleasant experience, easy to work with.

First excuse was that there was a holiday in between; next they said they came in w a chipped lens; next they had to send my frames to a specialty lens shop! Was told that place had finished them and would send them out the next day overnight. I went in to get them- they said, 'Did you get a call?' I said I was told they'd be in! 'Not yet! We'll check on them and let you know.' I said I'd appreciate a call either way. Nothing.... Six days later, they called to say they can't do them. I can go in and get my frames and a refund! Wasted almost a month and still have to have glasses made somewhere else!!! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

When I asked on whether the doctor might be able to provide another manufacturer that is more readily available she said that the doctor was very busy and would get to it when he could, which is fine but when I asked if there was a timeline to when he could get back to me, again a vague and indefinite response with a rude and raised tone, eventually she hung up on me, citing an issue with the phone line. HIGHLY unpleasant interaction and do not recommend due to bad customer service.

However , it's unfortunate I have made the decision to take my eye care needs elsewhere. There is this one secretary that has been there for a few years and when she picks up the phone to make an appointment , order contacts , emergency situations , she does not make you feel like you're eye care needs are a priority . Today's situation finalized the decision to move to a different facility . I have been going to east Providence family eye care for almost 20 Years . I opened my last pair of contacts from my three month supply last week and made it a point to order contacts ahead of time . This morning , before a 4am shift , I realized one of my contacts oddly ripped . (My glasses are being fixed). I drove to work nervous barely able to see. When they opened I had explained to her my situation . I was aware my contact brand was not in stock but I advised her very nicely that about a year a similar situation happened to me and the other secretary without hesitation took it upon herself to give me a trial pair from my previous brand until my box came in. She did not want to hear it and was not helpful whatsoever . I explained to her I couldn't drive and if she recommended any options . Things happen , contacts rip, glasses break, it's the unfortunate part for having pretty horrible vision . She proceeded to tell me she couldn't do what the other secretary's did because she needed a "signature"- i later found out this was a made up rule . She then says very rude "the most I can do is leave a voicemail to Dr Santos and I can't promise he will get back to me". I asked her his hours she goes "I'm not obligated to give that information " . I hung up feeling helpless wondering how I was going to get through until my box came in. I then called Cumberland family eye care and the lady said yes that's not a problem WITHOUT HESITATION, stating they have both brands in stock- unfortunately she had to call EP because my records were there . I then got really nervous (which i shouldn't have felt in the first place )because I realized she'd be connected to that secretary. After waiting about ten minutes , the secretary from EP picked up the phone (we were on three way) and lectured me on how they have a pair (I only asked for one contact) and told me how much of an inconvenience I was and unfair and need to plan ahead. I explained that I did plan ahead, i had a contact pair that should've lasted a month, the rip was out of my control. I decided to apologize and she continued to lecture me in a condescending manner. I hung up feeling so uncomfortable and felt like I was being spoken to like a burden for wanting to be able to see. She simply could of told me to try Cumberland or advice me of my doctors hours . It's like she wanted me to beg and feel helpless . I reached out to other people in my work who witnessed this and they advised me that they never dealt with anything like that from their eye care facility . Some of these people have asked for trial pairs every month . I simply asked for one because I had a rip and would be a danger on the road . She completely escalated the situation and I felt more like a burden than a patient in need of assistance . I can always understand a no. But there is a certain way to go about it to help the patient understand . Especially for severe matters . All I was asking was for one contact to help me see . I always purchase my contacts there, so my eye exams there , and choose to spend money there. Communicating with patients is essential, especially in eye care . To completely disregard someone's concern and avoid any questions such as your doctors hours , is absolutely Atrocious. I just want everyone to be aware especially those looking for an eye care facility . Trust me , working without being able to see and being told that it's basically not their problem and you may or may not hear form them-sucks.

But I had broken the frames so I was willing to pay for the frames I just needed the lenses replaced. What happens and I wasn't able to get back there and I actually completely forgot about them. So when I called to ask about where we were in the process they told me I needed to bring in my broken frames in order for the lab to make a new glasses. What? I obviously don't have the broken frames. No one told me this information the first time I went. And the girl on the phone kept saying well since it's been so long (about six months) what does that matter? My prescription is good for a year and the prescription was incorrect so either way I still needed a replacement but they told me I would have to pay full price for the frames and the lenses. The girl on the phone was not helpful. Just very disappointed. I will not be returning there. On the other hand the doctor was very nice and helpful. Was able to see me in short notice.
