It's a small comfortable setting on the first floor of # 91. The shop certainly has style and pizzazz! Check out the wallpaper too! (luv it!) The display cases still house the most intriguing styles; classic, contemporary & cosmic. (my opinion solely!) See for yourselves ! I own six very unique frames including a pair of exquisite sunglasses. Yes, my smile brightens and my eyes light up, as frame style compliments are frequently given to me wherever I go. What's not to love???

I've patronized their business spanning decades. I first saw them on Thayer Street on the East Side of Providence abutting Brown University. I followed them to Wickenden Street in Foxpoint and now to their newest location at 91 Hope Street. Aside from their outstanding highly personalized client services, I've remained with Gregory's Optical because of their vast selection of excellent quality upscale global brands with outstanding competitive pricing. My new glasses are great, and they were already fit with an old band-aid to fix the crack in that piece across my nose. The eye drops were a trip- they say my pupils were so dilated whatever that means. but they looked a lot like my sister's when she comes home at 6am from these raves she talks about. Well I'm raving too. If it's not cloudy, I can see from Woonsocket to Westerly. Thank God, because I wouldn't want to drive that distance- that's a 4 day trip in RI and 2 hotel stops. Oh, and the offices were easy to find- literally right next to where Benny's used to be....even though really everything is next to where a Benny's used to be. So they said my vision was 20-15, can you believe it! Everyone was impressed but to be honest, I memorized the eye chart from iphone pix I took a few months earlier. Cool huh? Just don't tell them I cheated...or the lawyers of the dog owners whose pug I ran over one morning. Twice. He just wouldn't stay down. Fine. 3 times. But in fairness I lost a rim. I got 3 new pairs of glasses on sale last year and the nicest woman helped me. When I went back to get the glasses fitted, the young man that helped to fit them on my face was also nice but he didn't do a good job. I came back a week later and one of the woman working was not friendly at all, borderline rude. So I left and went to another LensCrafters to get the glasses fitted. I almost didn't come back to this LensCrafters when I was getting prescription sunglasses but it was just more convenient. The rude lady was working that day and I just avoided her until someone else helped. I'd give this location 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4.

From the moment I walked in to a week later when I picked up my new pair I didn't see one smile or bit of enthusiasm from the 4 different people I dealt with. 4 separate opportunities to redeem themselves and it seemed to get worse with each successive person. I can specifically recommend Mary if you want to feel demoralized and spoken down to while your glasses don't even fit your head and zero adjustments were made. She will tell you all about how you're not looking through the right part of the lens like you haven't been wearing glasses your whole life. I'm glad I was able to keep them on my head long enough to go see Ray at the Attleboro Mass store where I was greeted with a smile and my glasses were adjusted so that when I look at my shoes they don't fall off my head; a novel concept. Lesson learned. I tried going here because it was closer to my work but will stick with the Attleboro store from now.

About a month after I bought the first pair, I did have a problem with the frame, but they replaced the frame, no hassles, no questions asked. My second pair, I have had about a year and they are perfect (and very comfortable a stylish too - when I had trouble deciding between my final two choices for frames, the owner told me which frame looked better, so I went with that one, and don't regret the choice). I bought single vision frames, but my prescription has a prism, so the eyeglasses were $99 instead of $69, but that is understandable, as a prism requires a more complex lens. To the person who gave this business a one-star rating, to me, that is unwarranted. The owner, John Sarracino, has been extremely polite every time I've gone there, and I never felt rushed. He has even replaced nose pads on a pair of prescription sunglasses (which I didn't even purchase from them), no questions asked, with a smile! I like that you are dealing directly with the owner, a registered optician, who has over 40 years of experience, instead of dealing with an inexperienced kid.
