My hubby, daughter and I have been going here for many years. I was never super impressed with the 2. Drs I'd seen but my set two visits I had Dr Young. What a patient, compassionate dr! She never makes the visit feel rushed, she listens, explains and answers questions thoroughly. I could go on and on about Dr Young. The staff in the front- are awesome. Eric the Manager is super fun but also great at his job. All the ladies in the front are helpful, friendly and kind. I had to ask a question about not having my hubby's HSA card on me just the numbers and both girls were awesome about it! Went here because I needed a new pair of glasses in a hurry and they offered same day service for my simple prescription. Bonus? They're on the preferred provider list for my VSP. I brought my own prescription and was in and out in less than a half hour. Great selection of designer frames for men and women! However, I actually grabbed an inexpensive "house" brand frame that was very sharp. Using the 50% off sale going on I was able to walk out for less than$200. (What??!) Customer service was superior. Glasses were ready four hours later. Plenty of parking in the Bob's / Marshall's plaza. Kinda wish I knew about this place a lot sooner. I'll be back for sure. Great hidden gem. read more

I have been a patient at this location now for several years now. I've been for my regular routine eye care and two times for an issue with an eye. In the cases of emergency/urgent appointment needed I was gotten in very quickly and given treatment to get my tear ducts/glands healing and functioning as they should. Lesson!! When you have an issue with your eyes bypass your regular physician or walk in urgent care and go straight to the eye dr!!! They run specials a few times a year so be sure to buy when they have either the 50% or even better the 60% off sale!! My only complaint is and why they don't get the full five stars is because the wait times for regular appointments can at times be a bit ridiculous. The staff though is great and has been pretty much the same core group for as long as I've been going which to me says something good about the company and its retention of employees. The doctor that was here in 2020 was better. Current doc spoke to me as if she was sped up x10, literally could not get me through my appointment fast enough. Made almost no eye contact, barely waited for my responses to her questions. I felt really rushed and it was super weird. Came in to pick up a prescription after work [i work in the plaza] I walked up to the counter told the woman I was there to pick up a prescription she told me to wait a second & to have a look around. It took 20 minutes & 4 customers who walked in AFTER me before I can overhear some guy who also worked there ask the same lady who greeted me what I was doing & what I needed. The same woman who told me to have a look around in the first place, came up to me again as if we never even had a conversation and asked me "what she can do for me". I stood there waiting for 20 minutes waiting to be serviced. Every single person who came in after me was greeted nicely and was offered up a seat to get there prescription right away. Not to mention that every person who walked into the store was white. I was the only black one in that store. So I got my prescription & ill NEVER go back. I chopped it up to OBVIOUS racism & that's how I'll leave it. That's the second time in my life, where I've walked into a store and shown that I was just not welcomed. We have been buying our glasses here for about four years because the selection is amazing & the sales staff is incredibly helpful. They help my daughter & I choose the most flattering glasses every year. I also love my graduated lenses that were recommended for me. It is impossible to tell just by looking at them that I need lenses for near & far-sightedness, which I feel makes me look younger. Let me start by saying that this store has some awesome people working in it. I have used them for eyeglasses several times for a few years, and the staff is always polite, knowledgeable, and courteous. On my last visit I was helped by Amy Suffolk. She was not only a pleasure to talk to, but she made sure that I didn't purchase anything that I didn't need, (example transitions) and took the time to find the perfect frames for my facial features. Before Dr. Ide retired, this was my go-to eye care facility. It has gone down the tubes since. There was a point where I saw a different Optometrist for every visit. Although some were better than others, none were close to Ide. I am one to ask questions, especially when it comes to my health. The most recent visit was the worst experience thus far. The older Dr was rude & not very thorough. He seemed rather annoyed by my questions and even contested my contacts lens hygiene. Then he questioned my unwillingness to try a specific brand of lens. I explained how I've tried it in the past but it irritated my eyes. He didn't beleive me & checked the files. He struck a nerve & continued to push my buttons. I've been a lens wearer for over 20 yrs. My eyes are attached to MY head, not his. I think I know wtf is or isn't wrong with me. Nonetheless, you should be helping your patient, not belittling them. With that said, I gave him a piece of my mind and he immediately back peddled. Unreal. I will never go back to that place. These low reviews & few stars from other yelpers are on the money. I had the worst experience with Dr. Kyle. I've been coming here since middle school so it has been probably over 15 years now that I've been a customer. The optometrist was extremely unfriendly, burped in my face a foot away which was rude and disgusting. He also made sure that I didn't get any trial contacts to try. I asked about the brand dailies and he wouldn't answer any of my questions about the brand. He actually came to the front and told the nice ladies at the front desk to not give me any trials. In my 15+ years of visiting I have also never once gotten my eyes dilated. Every single time they tell me next time, and Dr. Kyle told me it would take too long so he wouldn't dilate me. I was actually in awe at how bad of service I received. The opticians in the front are great and have always been extremely helpful; it's this one particular doctor that I have an issue with. read more

Went with my husband to get him new glasses because the store we normally go to was unhelpful and didn't offer much of a selection. When we got to your store Amy was friendly, professional and listened to all of my husbands needs. She helped him pick out several frames & got him an appointment with Dr Nigrelli the same day. My husband said that the eye exam was the most thorough he had ever had and found Dr Greg very personable. We left with 2 pair of glasses & Amy suggested that my husband turn his old frames into sun glasses ( genius idea). We are very happy new customers and will be back. I went to vision works on 10/26/20, I felt un comfortable with Dr.Leffer,he would get short with me because I have dropped eyelids , he would repeat open them wider and I would reply I would if I could, I even tried to hold them up to help, but he said my hands were in the way, next thing I knew he took his ungloved hand and forced my eye open. I took my script with me, I wanted out of there. After being told my eyes were healthy the next day 10/27/20 at 6:30 pm I got a call from Dr.Leffer saying he now remembers seeing he saw something that may cause demacular degenerate disease , amazing recall of memory, trying to get me into the store to buy the transition lenses, SHAME on vision works for scaring people (me) with potential blindness to buy glasses from them. may call state read more

I had a very good experience and that's why I'm going to share it. So many times you have that bad experience and want to leave a review but this one was really good. I have been to other eyewear places before where they seem to rush you around but not here. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. They greet you when you come in they help you look at all different styles they tell you how each program works. I have never had bifocals before and they did explain to me different options which I appreciate. The woman who helped me is Julie. The glasses that I ordered came in very quickly and I just picked them up and they fit great. Julie explained how to read with these type of bifocals and was patient with me. I've never left here satisfied. Always trying too hard to upsell you on ridiculous frames or types of lenses. You'd think they'd have several doctors, but I went in for an appointment I made one year ago and they told me it was canceled when I checked in. For 12 months they sent me confirmation texts, emails, and phone calls; the latest one being just 6 days ago. To cancel, they tried calling ONCE. And thought that would do the trick! Visionworks is running this Buy One Get One Free ad for the month so off we went to see what they had to offer. As soon as I asked about the Buy one Get One Free we were suddenly in the land of the unknown pricing. The ad states buy one complete pair of eyeglasses or RX sunglasses & get a second pair free. I was told if you use that sale you have to pay "straight Retail" which is apparently not the price you would pay if you were buying a single pair off glasses with no second pair free??? I was puzzled and kept asking where is my free pair and she kept saying that the price was so high because the sale was for straight retail. It doesn't say this in the ad. They wanted 745.00 for glasses that had a 139.00 frame. That makes it 600.00 for lenses. I have never paid that for a pair of glasses in my life. How is that Buy One Get One Free??? I recently went to Visionworks in Cranston, RI where I had an eye exam and was fitted for some new glasses. The girls were all very friendly and very helpful. Julie helped me to choose a lot of nice glasses. There were so many to choose from. I felt very comfortable going to a place where someone actually was happy to help me and very knowledgeable. I couldn't believe that someone could just look at my face and pick out the best glasses for me. After We picked out 2 pairs of glasses, Amy assisted me with my Davis vision for glasses. I don't understand the negative reviews at all. I recently bought two pair of prescription glasses from Visionworks. It should be noted that I needed new glasses for at least 3 or 4 years, and actually bought a pair from another local company last year, but I could never see clearly out of them, even after having them redone, so they're still in a drawer....$300 gone. I also had difficulty finding anything I liked that looked good on my face at other stores. I walked into Visionworks on a whim, expected more of the same, not being able to find anything I liked. I was acknowledged immediately, asked if I needed help, I said I just wanted to look around for a bit. They didn't hound me, but were right there to assist me when I had found not just a few, but at least 15 or 20 pair I loved. I was treated with kindness, not pressured into anything I didn't want, and got great advice on which colors and shape glasses were better suited to my face when I had to narrow down all my choices. As far as getting the right prescription, I was initially afraid to put them on and drive home, but when I got home, I put them on and within 10-15 minutes, I forgot I had new glasses and a new prescription. That has never happened before..... in the past I felt like I was going to fall up or down stairs with new glasses. I have recommended Visionworks to my friends and am bringing my mother there soon for new glasses....that should tell you right there how I feel about the staff, selection and quality I received.
