Dr. McMahon found a grain of sand had stuck itself to my eye and said next time to not hesitate calling to come in for a check. I was a patient at this practice for a few years and typically just scheduled annual appointments. That process went mostly smooth but if you have any question whatsoever it requires multiple steps of escalation and the staff are clearly annoyed and not properly trained. On one occasion I had an eye related emergency and the staff offered no emergency appointment or guidance for alternative treatment centers. That lack of assistance/guidance resulted in a $100 emergency room visit. The first question the ER asked me was why didn't your Optometrists schedule you for a sick visit? The last straw for me was when the front desk staff recently tried to cancel an existing annual appointment due to a VSP benefit being exhausted for the calendar year. The staff at no point asked if I had a secondary vision benefit (which I did) or if I still would like to keep the existing appointment with the understanding that the appointment fee would be an out of pocket expense. When I expressed to the staff that the customer service at this office is significantly lacking and that I would not be a returning patient the receptionist audibly sighed and said, " Yeah...ok" So for the above mentioned reasons I would no longer recommend this practice to others in my community.
