The red head behind the desk is BEYOND rude and unprofessional! Wrong job for someone with that tone and attitude.

Great staff, great prices, great environment. Nothing more to say but that everyone should come here for their eye exams.

I've been a patient here for years, and have fond memories of Dr Waldorf and his warm & humorous…read morepersonality. Dr Hamel is also very personable and friendly. The front desk staff have varied over the years, and sadly, the last batch appears to have been misplaced: They collectively (and individually) have the personality and dispassionate guest-relations skills of stereotypical DMV workers. No more warm, smiling genuine greetings upon entering the office :( It seems like since they remodeled the office, the friendly front desk staff disappeared. I've tried to engage in a warm connection with this new batch of grumpy greeters, but got the bored look of a gen z (or is it y? I dunno...) looking at 'this smiling old lady' who wants to make friends? I wouldn't be surprised if they rolled their eyes at me once I turned my back. I recommend mixing it up and also hiring mature font desk folks who've lived and seen a little life, who understand and appreciate the customer service includes exuding warmth & compassion and a true interest in the patients who spend their money there. I would not encourage anyone to purchase their glasses at this establishment, because the staff is seemingly not trained in sizing frames to the face. They don't appear to know how progressive lenses need to be fitted to the eyes/face, and they are definitely not skilled at adjusting the newly arrived pair of glasses to the ears and nose - I know because all three of them made the attempt and did NOT give me glasses that function the way they should. I have to use my hands to lift my glasses up so I can see things on my laptop. Sadly, It felt like once they receive payment, there's not much incentive to provide a functioning product? Hundreds of dollars down the drain.... During my short time in the room with the Doc, I mentioned the problem with my glasses, but just got a disinterested 'Hum' in response... She was already on to other things....

She really knows her profession from what contact lenses are available in what increments to educating clients on eye care. Although Dr. Waldorf is no longer offering appointments the business continues to grow and I am delighted to see the office will be undergoing a bit of remodeling shortly. This will allow a greater offering of eye wear and a nicer waiting area. Look forward to seeing the new space at our next visit.

A year or two ago, I bought two pairs of eyeglasses from the Visionworks on Mineral Spring Avenue…read morein North Providence. The glasses were exactly the same frames and lenses. Somehow I lost one of them, so I ordered the same exact glasses again. I went for my appointment and had my vision checked by a personable young man who knows everything about eyes, vision, and eye glasses. He was very nice and explained everything clearly. A few days later, I received a phone call that my new glasses were ready. I went right up there and picked them up. A gentleman waited on me, and he was wonderful ... very polite! He asked if I thought everything was okay and if I had any questions. I am very pleased with my new glasses. The only suggestion I have for Visionworks North Providence is this: There are several young women who work there and they are not personable. No eye contact. No greeting. They need to buck up because they are professionally employed but they don't look or act the part. Their behavior won't stop me from going to this Visionworks location. I will, however, say this: As a business professor, their demeanor is going to hold them back from being successful in a professional employment setting.

I have far sight. Kim, who I've seen twice now to pick out glasses is exceptional! Both occasions, she picked out a BUNCH of glasses for me to try on to help recommend some. She explains the breakdown of charges and doesn't push to upsell you on the additional features. Front desk girl is friendly and gets to you right away. You don't have to wait. Overall exceptional staff of employees who are here to help and they have weekend appointments online.

She said she understood and then took me to a rack to pick out some options that were covered. After sitting back down, she tried to upsell every option to me. I declined them, and then was still met by a $110 quote on my way out. There are signs everywhere saying "no refunds", which did not inspire my confidence in the quality of their craftsmanship. I can get 5 pairs of similar quality glasses online for less money and be met with better customer service with return options, so I'll be doing that. During my short thirty minute visit, the phone was ringing off the hook, calls were going unanswered, and another customer was in the lobby literally crying in frustration over having had such terrible experiences with the office. I had a similar experience with this office last year and will likely be taking my business elsewhere in the future, which is a shame because again, the tech and doctor seemed knowledgeable and efficient.

I leave work 40 minutes early to drive to my appointment. As I sat in the waiting room I see a text message on my my phone telling me that my appointment had been cancelled. The text message was sent 28 minutes before appointment. They called me too 28 minutes before but I'm driving so my phone is in automatic do not disturb until I shut off my car. I asked why and I was told by the receptionist that even though I confirmed my appointment by email prior thereto, because I failed to return their call when they called me to remind me of the appointment they cancelled it. I confirmed my appointment and that is all that should be necessary. I lost an hour and a half of work with no pay. I will find a nice little small office who will treat me with respect.
