Dr. Zak is not just a doctor--he's your local optometrist. Right from the handicap accessible ramp…read moreoutside his office, you can tell he cares to make his practice within reach for every person who passes through his doors. His office is like many other offices in Webster: a renovated home. Inside the entrance, there's a quaint waiting room with an aquarium, magazines, photos, and a countertop where reception and officework take place. Leading in, you can view all the glasses he offers--from state-administrated frames from MassHealth, to a selection of modern styles and varieties. Just around the wall from the waiting room is where Dr. Zak helps you get the right fit on your frames and makes sure they are a fit for you. When I went, Dr. Zak made sure to make my visit just as long and informative as I needed. I asked about contact lenses, and he told me how casually I could purchase my preferences online based on my previous prescription. I asked about eyesight concerns, and he helped me realize warning signs that I was lacking. He checked my old lenses and my eyesight and quickly figured I needed little change. Overall, I felt that he knew how experienced I'd been, having gone to optometrists most of my life. But, I felt that he was willing to take as long as I needed, or go as in-depth as I liked, to make sure I felt my eyesight health was being addressed. His receptionist was friendly, though I've forgotten her name, and I've returned many times for replacement lenses from my outside manufacturer. Dr. Zak treated each time with the care of the first, making sure my glasses fit, and that the prescription was comfortable. He wouldn't want me to run out the door as if my new pair of glasses was ready without adjustments. While he's not in his office as much as big chain optometry, I feel that he is always available for help when he can, and is ready to call back like a treasured doctor-patient relationship. Overall, I'm impressed with the care Dr. Zak provided me as a patient, and I'm surprised nobody's reviewed him before, much less provided photos. I'm sure he's worth your trip if you have a choice to go anywhere else.

Thanks a lot!!! I took a sleep aid because I was having a job interview and staff meeting that day and wanted to be sure I was on point. Thus the request for the call back in the afternoon . Needless to say I was groggy for both. All I wanted to do was order a pair of back up glasses. The prescription had not yet expired, which they admitted but they said they recommend I come in. Trying to use up my end of year hsa dollars, that's all. Will not be going back. If you can't comply with a simple, respectfully made request, I'm not interested in giving my business

They called me up and said that I owed an additional $80 because "it was a diabetic medical exam and that it went to the deductible. I called my insurance company and they said that they were not in network and that the billing code was correct. They actually billed the insurance company an extra medical fee, which was rejected because it's included in the coding for the original eye exam. The practice was not in network at the time of my exam and tried to bill me the out of network fee. The other issue is is that the doctor will not give you your paper prescription for your eyeglasses until you buy the eyeglasses from them. I asked the doctor for my prescription and he said that when I picked up my glasses, he would give it to me. I have never had this happen before. As far as my prescription itself, I'm still not seeing very clearly.

The wrong pair was ordered (though i said i wanted the sample they provided which i was told was in my chart) and shipped to me and then i had to call over 8 times to get in touch with someone. Two weeks later I provided my credit card and was told the new contacts would be in. I called 1.5 weeks later and was told they will need my credit card to order. There is a clear disconnect between front and back office and it is difficult to manage when each conversation is repetitive and continues to cause a wrong next step. It is now over 5 weeks since i first ordered my contacts :( this is frustrating. Great clinical care, but be wary when ordering contacts/glasses. I'll likely be looking elsewhere to avoid this experience again.

The front desk staff have varied over the years, and sadly, the last batch appears to have been misplaced: They collectively (and individually) have the personality and dispassionate guest-relations skills of stereotypical DMV workers. No more warm, smiling genuine greetings upon entering the office :( It seems like since they remodeled the office, the friendly front desk staff disappeared. I've tried to engage in a warm connection with this new batch of grumpy greeters, but got the bored look of a gen z (or is it y? I dunno...) looking at 'this smiling old lady' who wants to make friends? I wouldn't be surprised if they rolled their eyes at me once I turned my back. I recommend mixing it up and also hiring mature font desk folks who've lived and seen a little life, who understand and appreciate the customer service includes exuding warmth & compassion and a true interest in the patients who spend their money there. I would not encourage anyone to purchase their glasses at this establishment, because the staff is seemingly not trained in sizing frames to the face. They don't appear to know how progressive lenses need to be fitted to the eyes/face, and they are definitely not skilled at adjusting the newly arrived pair of glasses to the ears and nose - I know because all three of them made the attempt and did NOT give me glasses that function the way they should. I have to use my hands to lift my glasses up so I can see things on my laptop. Sadly, It felt like once they receive payment, there's not much incentive to provide a functioning product? Hundreds of dollars down the drain.... During my short time in the room with the Doc, I mentioned the problem with my glasses, but just got a disinterested 'Hum' in response... She was already on to other things....

My family and I have been seeing the same optometrist in a nearby town for over 20 years. However, some recent experiences left me wanting to try someone else. I am so glad I made the decision to visit Dr. Le. In my first visit, she examined my eyes and found a condition that can lead to a retina tear. Dr. Le helped me get an appointment with a highly regarded ophthalmic practice. An ophthalmologist addressed the issue the same day. The ophthalmologist told me that I probably had the condition for around two years based on the scar tissue. He gave Dr. Le (who he doesn't know) a lot of credit for identifying a barely visible problem. He said that he could have missed it himself. Beyond the eye issue, Dr. Le was very thorough in examining my eyes, filling my prescriptions, and fitting me for the best glasses and contact lens. She is friendly, explains things effectively, and provides compassionate eye care. I would highly recommend Dr. Le to my family, friends, and anyone who is looking for an optometrist.
