Office staff is horrible. I asked to be called at the end of the day because I work 3 rd shift. So instead of calling at 3:30 as I requested(they close at 4) they called at 10:00 am. Thanks a lot!!! I took a sleep aid because I was having a job interview and staff meeting that day and wanted to be sure I was on point. Thus the request for the call back in the afternoon . Needless to say I was groggy for both. All I wanted to do was order a pair of back up glasses. The prescription had not yet expired, which they admitted but they said they recommend I come in. Trying to use up my end of year hsa dollars, that's all. Will not be going back. If you can't comply with a simple, respectfully made request, I'm not interested in giving my business read more

I made an appointment with this office. Very friendly staff and the eye exam was ok. My issue is that they said that they were in network with my insurance company and they were not. They called me up and said that I owed an additional $80 because "it was a diabetic medical exam and that it went to the deductible. I called my insurance company and they said that they were not in network and that the billing code was correct. They actually billed the insurance company an extra medical fee, which was rejected because it's included in the coding for the original eye exam. The practice was not in network at the time of my exam and tried to bill me the out of network fee. The other issue is is that the doctor will not give you your paper prescription for your eyeglasses until you buy the eyeglasses from them. I asked the doctor for my prescription and he said that when I picked up my glasses, he would give it to me. I have never had this happen before. As far as my prescription itself, I'm still not seeing very clearly. read more

Dr. Gioscia and his receptionist at Crossroads Family Eye Care in Mansfield CT are a joke! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! POOR CARE! I give them negative stars! I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very nice. She wasn't sure how to handle my vision insurance so her and I had a conference call with my insurance company. They walked her through everything she needed to do as far as what my insurance covered and how she should put in tbe claim. After our conference call she seemed like she understood what needed to be done. Perfect! Ready for my daughter's appointment. The day before her appointment I got a phone call confirming her appointment the next day at 1pm. All is good, or so I thought. We got to the office and Dr. Gioscia starts the exam and during the exam starts taking to me about how difficult my insurance is to deal with. I told him I could call them, again, and make sure his office had everything they needed to put through the claim. He then told my daughter and I that he didn't want to deal with it and he would do the exam, not charge us but wouldn't sell us contact lenses. For insurance purposes I needed the exam and the purchase of the contacts done at the same office. Which I had already explained that to him and his receptionist prior to the appointment. I was so blown away with how rude he was being, my daughter and I got up and left. I took time off from work for this and I still have to find another doctor who takes my insurance and wait for another appointment!!! I have never been treated so unproffessionally. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Gioscia for 7 years. He is kind, patient, and thorough. It is not too hard to get an appointment with him, and if something urgent comes up, he will see you right away. My kids have also been seeing him (since age 10) and he does well with them, too. read more

First time going to Dr. Gioscia and I must say i'm very impressed. By far he is the best Optometrist I have seen. I've probably been to around 6 or so over the years. He best exam to date. Dr. Gioscia is great for people who like health care professionals who are willing to answer questions and present options without ego (respectful), are patient, gentle, and relaxed (calming), and are direct and knowledgable (confident). He is also very good at picking out flattering frames, which was helpful for me, as there were so many frames to chose from and I was not sure what I wanted! Dr. Gioscia took over the business of my previous optometrist (who was also awesome!), so that is how I found him. His location is convenient--on Rt. 44 just off of Rt 195. It is located at the "Grand Union" bus stop. Overall, I had a very pleasant, personal and professional experience and will continue to go to Dr. Gioscia for eye care. Highly recommend! read more

Crossroads Family Eyecare is wonderful! Dr.Gioscia is very professional, a delight to chat with and explained the whole process/examination thoroughly. His receptionist is also very sweet and their schedule is very accommodating (they are open on Saturday mornings and late on Tues or Thurs). They were able to make an appointment for me the very next week; as my glasses broke and was in desperate need of replacement. I was a client with Tolland Eye Care and Im so glad Im switched. My new frames will be in next week and I look forward to my next visit. Highly recommend Dr.Gioscia. I never leave reviews on Yelp, but Crossroads deserves to be noticed! read more

We have had Dr. Gioscia as our eye doctor for years! Prior to him, our eye doctor was not kind and seemed like he hated his job and clientele. Dr. Gioscia is not only one of the kindest doctors, but is extremely courteous, respectful, and takes the time to learn about each of his patients. He remembers you, even if he only sees you once a year. Sonia is just as wonderful, and I actually enjoy calling to make appointments because she is so sweet! We could easily go on and on about his professionalism, courtesy, kindness, respect, and knowledge about each one of his patients, but the best advice we have for you is call and make an appointment.
