This is my second time visiting Dilibero Opticians. The first time was okay, and Chris helped me with the purchase of my Maui Jim frames. I went back a couple of months ago and Steven, the father, is friendlier than his son Chris. Steven greeted me when I came in the door, however Chris didn't acknowledge those that came in the door that were people of color. I am a person of color and didn't feel overly welcomed in general. I needed to have a screw replaced in my sunglasses, and Steven did it in a chair on a small table. They didn't seem to have the proper space to do it in an area where he could put his tools and glasses on a table that was of adequate size. I don't plan to return to this place and will take my business elsewhere. read more

Wonderful family run business. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyes! This father and son team are absolutely top notch.

I called the owner of this optical shop who said over the telephone that he would give me any eyeglass lenses I wanted . He lied. He tried to pass-off and sell me in-house (generic) lenses from a local optical lab he uses in Johnston-- which has negative reviews only on Yelp. They were not Seiko Superior 1.67, and they didn't come from any out-of-state lab as he suggested to me. He knew what he was doing and tried hard to protect his source, his handlers and partners in crime. Eyeglass lenses have laser etchings on them that indicate the manufacturer, material, index, etc., which I know how to read for certain manufacturers- but I didn't let him know, not that it would have made a difference. Crooks and bold-face liars have no shame. He put two different sets of lenses in my frame, over a six-week timeline. I've been wearing glasses for many years and I had never seen anything quite like what he tried to sell me. They were supposed to be a high-index plastic but were almost as heavy as glass, and one pair was thicker at the top than at the bottom. And the reading portion was blurred. They were lenses that no reputable lab would let out the door and no reputable optician would even be associated with. I noticed in a Facebook post that someone had shoplifted designer eyeglass frames from his business. A photo had been captured on a security camera and posted to the page, and I think it was also on a nightly local news program. Apparently, the owner was self-righteously and indignantly up in arms and ready to call out the National Guard because some thief had ripped him off. And it was a woman of color, no less. I wonder if "reputable" crooks, who call themselves businessmen, delude themselves into thinking there is one iota of difference between themselves and the shoplifter? read more

I cannot recommend the team at DiLibero & Associates enough! Their communication is friendly, professional, and inviting. They spent over 45 minutes on the phone with me answering my questions and walking me through the process. There was no pressure on the sale and he focused on helping me find the best pair - sounds simple but that's usually not the way things go. What a wonderful find! Especially when it's a locally, family owned one. I've a tricky prescription and need a good optician to fit my lenses. I called on a Friday, was fit for lenses on Monday and had new glasses Saturday. They fit perfectly. Chris was excellent to work with. He really took his time fitting my lenses, and although I had a script, he remeasured and corrected the fit. Also... the price? The most competitive I've seen in the area. They have all the latest styles in the high-end brand names that you're looking for - classic, trendy, and even some of those crazy Hollywood fashion-forward ones!
