Based on multiple positive recommendations on Yelp we tried Riverboat Pizza off Hwy 17 outside of Richmond Hill today. We were looking to expand our options beyond Ricciardi's- a place we like. Riverboat Pizza is dark inside and the ac system was struggling to keep up with one of the hottest days so far this summer. We were dine- in customers and ordered the 14" #12 Supreme pizza. In a word, what we got was very average pizza with tasteless toppings and sauce. The base tasted like a typical frozen pizza. We had high hopes - oh well. Not likely we'll be back. Come here many times, always loved their pizza. Got this carryout with a super weird missing slice, called to ask about this piece clearly missing from my pizza. Like legit just asking, would've accepted any explanation. Instead of offering any explanation or I was immediately cursed out and told not to come back. "Send me a picture." I did. I really do think riverboat makes the best pizza in coastal Ga. The different unique pizzas that are offered here gives ample opportunity to explore. Who would guess a Pad Thai pizza could be delicious aka the Bangkok nights pizza. I haven't tried a single pizza yet here that wasn't delicious. However, the best variety I think are the pizzas with the creamy garlic sauce they are one of a kind. And you should try their homemade cheesecake it's otherworldly. we don't live too far from here, so we decided to give it a shot for lunch the other day while we were out running errands. Immediately upon walking in, it was obvious they were short staffed and only had one person working. She was very transparent and let us know she was there by herself and to just come let her know at the bar when we were ready to order. We chose to sit outside, mostly because it was busy inside & a pretty day. Shortly I went back in, placed our order and the remainder of our experience she took care of us. She was so nice & did a wonderful job. Our food was great, we both had pizza and an order of mozzarella sticks. All of it was perfect & came out quick. I will say, I'm not sure if they're in the middle of renovating the outside area or not but it definitely needs a little makeover, it has such good potential to be the cutest little outdoor spot! read more

I'd always noticed this establishment but never had the opportunity to go in. COVID restrictions prevented my husband and I from dining in so we ordered take out. The hostess was very courteous over the phone and helpful. We decided to get the Commodore because we wanted to try something different. It didn't disappoint. We were very satisfied. We also ordered the Oreo cheesecake that they were most famous for and it was good. Not as extraordinary as I thought it would be and a bit pricey but it was OK. If you want a different style of Pizza, it's an excellent option. My only complaint would be the business hours that are rather short but I'm hoping that maybe this will change as the businesses return to a sense of normalcy after the pandemic. read more

Next, we ordered a House and Caesar salad. The salad greens were fresh and the toppings on the house salad included diced ripe tomatoes, slivers of red onion and black olives. If you're a blue cheese lover, you'll thoroughly enjoy their chunky, blue cheese loaded dressing! Fabulous! They have quite a few creative pizza choices on their menu but on this evening we had their Supreme. It was straight forward in their toppings and everything a supreme pizza should be. Personally, I wish it had been baked a bit longer. They don't have desserts on their menu but do have daily offerings that are made in house. We ordered a piece of their Vanilla Lavender and Oreo Cheesecake: creamy, flavorful and fantastic! Last, they have a lovely, welcoming, twinkle light lit, spacious outdoor patio for dining. Charm as soon as you walk in. Greeted right away with a clean table and menus. Our table was served by Sanders, an incredibly attentive young man with a great attitude and jovial personality. Great pizza joint! To me, most places I go, pizza is pizza. There has been rarely few places that I go that are memorable for their pizza but riverboat definitely made a memory for me. We decided to do an 18" half and half. One half Hawaiian, one half Bangkok nights. The Hawaiian was your typical ham, bacon, onions, and pineapple, except we added sausage for a 2 dollar upcharge. And it was good! Not great but definitely enjoyable and tasty! What did me in was the bangkok nights half. It was literally a Pad Thai pizza! Instead of typical marinara they used peanut sauce which gave it a rich, sweet flavor that set it apart from the pizza game. Toppings included onions, cilantro and chicken. It was seriously killer. I was skeptical about ordering it bc it lowkey sounds funky to me but the pics I saw from fellow yelpers looked great so I had to try it and glad I did! Not a pizza you can just go and get anywhere and that is what sets it apart for me!! But not only that pizza. They have many other specialty pizzas all with a unique style and different unique ingredients! That's a game changer and they seemed to have lock that down. The only thing that I could say for them to improve on is the timeliness of the service. While this place looks nice on the outside. When you walk in that is a different story. The floor is in need of repair. When u walk on it u can feel it coming up. I do not know if the lady that greeted us is a manager or just a waitress but she was rude not only to us but other customers that came in after us. I understand that they were busy but at least treat your guest like you want them to be there. The male waiter was great he was doing everything he could to keep up with orders and refills the best that he could. It took forever for them to even get our order and then when it actually arrived the pizza was cooked unevenly and the bottom was burnt. I could not wait to try this place since it was close to my home just to be disappointed. Given that it was National Pizza Day on Saturday, my fam and I set out to check out a new pizza joint. My husband, being the Head of All Matters Pizza in our household, chose the Riverboat Pizza based on reviews and proximity. They are off of Ogeechee Road and located where it is considered Georgetown? Depending on which direction you are coming from, the turn is just before or after the shopping area with the DD in it. Turn in and it is tucked in another shopping area in the back that you cannot see from 17. Parking - Center parking lot. What we ate/drank - Since my kids were hangry, and frankly so was I, we ordered the Mozzarella sticks to start. The waitress said they were the fastest. Sold! They came out fast as promised. They had a good crust and the marinara dipping sauce paired nicely. We ordered an 18", half and half of their Riverboat Monster (Italian sausage, Salami, Smoked Sausage, Bacon and Pepp) and Margherita (chopped tomatoes, basil ribbons and cheese). The dough crust was a uniform, thin crust throughout. There is no bigger crust around the edges. I personally like the crusts that get the big charred air bubbles of deliciousness, but I thought the toppings were great and I thought the tomato sauce was great too. Not too sweet and well seasoned. My husband also ordered one of their beers on tap, started with a G... they have the poster on the wall. He seemed to like it enough to get 2 glasses... or maybe just reeeeally thirsty? Lol, just kidding! Vibe - It's got the Mom and Pop feel which was unexpected considering the facade of the building looks new and big. There are some palm trees on either side of the door and the they've also placed a mirror like film on the glass or maybe it's the type of glass, to reflect the light, but when I walked in, I was surprised to see how not new it was and how small the space is even with the high ceilings. The inside is also a little darker (probably because of the reflective effect). There are about 5 booth seats that can seat 3 comfortably on each side and a handful of tables. Some of the booth seats have seen better days. They have a surprisingly large patio, which is probably twice as large as their indoor space. They also have some TVs, which probably makes this a great hang out for games and sports events. Service - SUPERB! This lady was sweet as a peach! She handled the nearly full restaurant (including a table of young boys AND a couple of tables on the patio) like a CHAMP! She was just so genuine and took the time to welcome people, make conversation and checking up on everyone. Also, the bonus is, I overheard her convo with clients who were leaving. The way she talked about the owners, how "the pizzas are great, but they are even better people". That just tells you what kind of person she is. Are you Awwwing? I bet you are, because I was. Great little pizza spot and it seems like they have a good variety of beer on tap and a wine list. I read some of the reviews and it seems like next time, I will have to save some room for dessert because the owner makes the cheesecakes. Pretty good place for a sit-down pizza place. Also great location, not too deep in Savannah. Loved the outdoor patio, but was way too hot for outdoor dining, so we ate inside. Great great pizza. Definitely up there with the other big names like mellow mushroom and Vinnies in my opinion. Service is very kind and friendly. Food didn't take long at all either, was piping hot when we got it. They have 8 tables inside and few more outside as well. Plenty of appetizers and different pizza choices, along with salad and calzones. Also draft beer to go along with your pizza while you watch football lol. I've read so many positive reviews about this place that we had to check it out. We arrived on a Friday evening around 5:45 and were the only ones there. Within in 30 minutes, all tables were full. Since my teenager loves wings more than life, garlic Parmesan wings were ordered. I liked the crushed fresh garlic and the crispy skin on the wings but the Parmesan was practically non-existent. They offer some unique pizza combinations. We shared the river monster pizza (all meats). The pizza was good but not outstanding like I was expecting. It was a bit greasy from the meats. After a few paper towel dabs, it was much better. We had a lot of leftovers which always makes my teenager happy! Service was good when we arrived but hit or miss once the place filled up. read more
