They have a bright, rustic interior with high ceilings, a variety of indoor/outdoor seating, and surrounded by a few local businesses (spice & tea, antique, plant stores). Vero has taken that corner lot, in what is probably a turn-of-the-century house, and has created a phenomenal kaffehaus. It is built to enjoy some of the beautiful Oregon weather, and even withstand some of the rainy Eugene weather. The inside is generally sprinkled with students, seeking quiet moments of academic focus or other pursuits, and the outside is conversational and comfortable. Oh, and the coffee. I'm always one to try the house brew, and Vero is always ready with a freshly brewed cup. Their latte skills are pretty solid, and their espresso is strong and finishes nicely. I find the real hook to be that their coffee is far better than corporate Seattle, and costs significantly less. Sure, you pay a pretty hefty price for some of their breakfast or lunch fare (think $15/sammich), but their coffee is way competitive and their service is outstanding. I'm there for the coffee in the atmosphere; anything else is a pure bonus, and that includes the outstanding patio. Parking is on the street, because you're close to downtown, so you're on your own. But pretty much half of the patrons are either walking or riding a bike, so it's easy to handle. Pricing for the drinks is very fair, if not advantageous, and the value far outstrips what you pay, anyway. To me, Vero is as good as it gets for Eugene coffee, and there is no shortage of competition. Get out and enjoy!

Other owners used to make their food from scratch and have more options. The last 3 visits I've gone in the last month have all been lacking. From extremely slow service, to wrong drinks made, to using the wrong account, drinks being bitter, and being asked 4x what my drink is once another car rolls up on other side. Might help to write them down if it is too hard to remember. Then given wrong drink. I feel like it was really delicious and consistent tasting, but I have not been impressed lately. We decided to stop by and check it out on a particularly cold and rainy Eugene day. The menu had a ton of interesting choices. I decided to try the brownie batter drink which was a delicious rich drink that tasted like a combination of hot chocolate and a latte. I was happy to see they had nonfat milk as many places in Eugene have gotten rid of that in favor of milk alternatives. My partner got the cinnabomb, a combination of cinnamon and white chocolate, in tasted just like a cinnamon roll. He got his with oat milk (they also offer coconut, almond, soy, and cashew). He also got his half sweet, which was plenty sweet for his preference. We also got a pup cup for our dog, it was one of the cutest ones I've seen. A little 2 oz cup of whip cream with a tiny little dog treat on top, he could barely contain his excitement. A great new addition to West Eugene!
