Usually, we get the same table in the corner which honestly I love bc its pressed against the wall and honestly i kinda have some social anxiety here and there. The service is amazing, the waitress we usually have is very attentive, recognizes us, and very kind. The food is amazing, the bread is always so good, and the food quality never waivers. I usually get the spaghetti and meat balls, but my partner is definitely the more "adventurous" one out of us both and has loved everything he's tried on the menu. This place is good for couples, family's, and friends. 10 outta 10 reccomened going and trying it out!

Honestly, this was one of the best pizzas we've had in a very long time. We're originally from Europe and have spent a lot of time traveling in countries like Italy and Croatia, so we know what a great pizza should taste like -- and this one was absolutely spot on. The service was exceptional, very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt like a proper, cozy restaurant where you immediately feel comfortable. You can really tell that there's passion behind what they do. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place. Great value, amazing food, and top service!

It struck the perfect balance between lively and relaxed, making it a great spot to enjoy a weekend brunch without feeling rushed. Super patient with us, answered all of our questions, made recommendations, and very attentive. Will ask for her again. The menu was a cornucopia of drinks and eats that sound amazing. We had the pimento cheese spread, two orders of the chicken fried steak and two orders of redfish. Everything was spectacular. We can't wait to go try other items on the menu. While waiting for our table we wondered up to the 3rd floor. They had live music. The place was jumping up there. We are going to have to look up who is going to be playing and have another married date night. The only downside to the evening was unfortunately the host at the front door. He was rude and severely lacking in communication skills. If anything else had me "meh" I would have taken stars away but everything else made up for his shortcomings.

Once seated we waited nearly an hour for the food, and it arrived with one good plate, and a $55 "Wagyu" which was a small, twisted piece of sinewed, chewy meat with cold, soggy veggies and mash. Sent it back, and my wife was finished by the time the replacement came - which again, was about as 'Wag'yu as a pup's tail. They kindly removed cost of my meal, and we got anniversary desert. Nice building and staff working hard - just set your expectations accordingly.

The biscuits were very dense and almost hard to swallow. The chicken breast was dry and hard to cut through. The sauce that it came with was just OK, but nothing special. The fries seemed like they just came from the frozen aisle of a grocery store. The salads were very simple and used store-bought salad dressing, which was disappointing, especially for the ranch. I always love, salmon, but I couldn't finish this salmon because the taste was not good and it was much too fishy. I liked the crust on the outside. I also really love mac & cheese, but I also couldn't finish it because it was not good and had an off flavor. The Mississippi mud pie was the best part of the meal besides the brussels sprouts. The ambience inside feels like a hotel restaurant and the service was OK.

My friends took me here for my 60th birthday!! Outside of the perfect steaks and stellar service (a great big thank you to Brad our amazing waiter), the music stole the show!! They have this insanely talented musician who performs Friday and Saturday nights starting at 6:30 PM .. he literally has his stage on a landing pad halfway up the staircase with his own little music kingdom. One guy. Several instruments. Electric guitar and saxophone were played effortlessly. You can make requests, which adds to the fun! For example, "Sweet Caroline" was a song that everyone sang along throughout the restaurant lol. Then came something I didn't expect. This musician has made it his personal mission to play our National Anthem on Fridays and Saturdays 7pm sharp. Everyone naturally stood -up, the whole room joined in, hand over their hearts, so much patriotic passion and energy. It was truly beautiful to see people come together in that moment. And just when I thought the night couldn't get better, out came a birthday dessert .. a warm homemade cookie with ice cream and a real sparkler. It was a show stopper!! I haven't seen a sparkler since I was ten lol. Apparently, birthdays are a big deal here, because it felt like every table around us had their own sparkler birthday/ anniversary moment. It was hilarious ... and I loved it! If you're looking for a memorable experience or just a relaxing delicious meal, nothing compares to Texas y'all. TIP: they have valet parking! TIP: they take reservations!

Kudos to him! Now for the food... it was outstanding. Between us we ordered the tacos, chicken fried steak, and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Let's talk about the tacos first. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, topped with a tasty lime crema and delicious grilled veggies. The loaded fries were the side of choice with that dish and they were so good--crispy, flavorful, and the ranch was absolutely on point (which is very important, ha!). The chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans was so good that there was literally nothing left on the plate. The steak was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the gravy was perfect. The green beans had just a little kick to them which made them fantastic. And the Nashville hot chicken sandwich... wow. It was HUGE (see pic below) and cooked perfectly. The ambiance of the place was also great. It has a welcoming vibe where you can come dressed up for a night out or keep it casual and still feel comfortable. If you're looking for a great dinner spot in downtown McKinney, Sugar Bacon is definitely worth the visit!

Pricey poisoning nightmare!…read more What was supposed to be a fancy celebratory night out ($725 with tip) at Drake's for my MIL's birthday ended with one of our family members in the ER and another 2 attached to the toilet (including my 72 MIL). This was roughly 6 hours after consuming seafood from this establishment. The frustrating part is we actually sent one of the 2 dishes back reporting to staff it had a strange odor/taste and was told we weren't familiar with lobster taste (being from NY this is untrue). My MIL was too embarrassed to send hers back so she ate her entire plate and my husband had about 1/4 of his before exchanging it for an alternate dish. As an emergency service provider I fully understand medical incidents like this can happen anywhere, but what prompted this review was way the situation was handled following my reporting. After reporting the incident to management we were met with what felt like an aggressive line of questioning about the members of our medical team and related details. I was told the incident would be escalated to upper management and the team would reach back out, but this never happened, even after a follow-up email. So, it's safe to say after spending a significant amount of money on what was supposed to be a special evening, the entire experience left a very bad taste in our mouths. At the very least, I would have expected some sort of gesture of goodwill or attempt to make the situation right -- even something as simple as a gift card or invitation to return for a better experience. Unfortunately, that never happened. Based on this experience, I would not choose to return and cannot recommend Drake's to others.
