Highly professional in every way, from initial contact to completion. A lot of trust is involved with a landscape project. Mr. Garcia and his team showed up exactly on time, answered all questions, and most importantly, surprised us UP with their realization of our relatively vague ideas. Highly recommended. read more

10 out of 5. Brad quoted quick for a residential project. Brad & his good people guys - started on time & no delays!! Did an outstanding job on 8 separate concrete hardscape jobs. Brick reconfigured, curved concrete edgers, block tree ring, 2 paver paths, retaining wall. Our favorite - two 8' long potted plant stands - hefty 8" treated lumber & black steel straps - that rock our steam punk theme! Could have easily paid more. Long time neighbors Love it all too!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about River Rock Outscape. Brad has completed two fabulous jobs for us. Brad accomplished the ideas I presented to him better than I could have imagined. The landscape suits our house beautifully. He just completed another masterpiece in beautifully repaving our front walk maintaining the original pattern. I highly recommend you hire River Rock Outscape. Gloria S. read more

I attached pictures of my DG walkway. I had already been unhappy with this company - hired a second group to fix some of their issues, and the second group was both better and cheaper. But I've never seen DG look like this. It looked this way starting several weeks prior to the heavy rain. read more

We had River Rock replace an old deck and patio with pavers and build us an outdoor room over half the space by extending the roof from our detached garage. We're very happy with the results and quality of the work. Ben, Octavio and team were able to take our initial goals/vision and deliver a great outdoor space. They also built a fence for additional privacy, and included overhead heaters, a fire pit, and wiring for electrical outlets in the out door room. Overall, we're very happy with our new space! read more

I highly recommend River Rock Outscape. This is the second project they did for us. Brad was easy to work with and tailored their work to my specifications. The work included a total demo of the front yard, with the installation of California Gold rock, flagstone steppers, and a fountain base. Their prices were reasonable. Any necessary changes were readily accommodated. They were professional, courteous, and arrived on time. read more

I am very satisfied with the work River Rock Outscape performed. Their price was reasonable (not the lowest nor the highest bid I received) and they were helpful and professional throughout the entire job. They worked with me to accommodate new or modified requests as the project progressed, and everything came out looking fantastic. They took the time to clean up each day before heading out, sweeping any dust or gravel, so that the impact to my neighbors and neighborhood was minimal. They also did a pavers job for my parents 6 years ago and their work from then still looks great. read more

What can I say but a class act!! They were responsive and reliable from the first sales appointment to staring on the first day as promised. Brad worked with me to have the look I wanted and also fit my budget. They started the work on the day we planned and worked on it until the project was done, which was before it was promised. What a great surprise. So happy with the quality of the work. I will defiantly call on them again for more work in the future!! Thank you River Rock Outscape!! I have used River Rock over the course of the last three years. Projects have included building an outdoor fireplace, expanding my barbeque, lining a path with rocks, placing boulders, installing rock veneer in a California room and patio, building a planter box (also lined with veneer) and changing my lawn to a drought tolerant landscape. They were professional and helpful throughout the entire process, delivering a great product. I would highly recommend their services. read more

We used this company 3 years Ago and we were impressed. When we gave them repeat business we were very dissatisfied. They didn't show up when they said they would, understaffed the work and then rushed through the work (sloppy) when they missed their deadline. The only thing they did quickly is request payment. Clearly this company has moved away from customer service. If you decide to use them, good luck. We will never use them again!!! read more

River Rock Outscape recently xeriscaped my front yard. What an amazing team to work with! They were on time, personable and cleaned up after each day and my yard looks exactly like I wanted. I had a paver path installed, a concrete pad replaced and rock installed replacing grass. I worked with them along the way for plant placement and stepping stones. Their price was fare and in the middle of several other estimates. Highly recommend. I'll attach pictures after this rain stops! Thanks guys! Great job! read more

A big thumbs up to River Rock Outscape. A number of divas arrived at our property and rejected the project. Brad arrived ready to do business. We discussed the project and within a few hours he had written a thorough proposal, which we accepted. The crew was on the job everyday--the job was beautifully done, and when minor adjustments were needed later they were performed quickly and admirably. We give River Rock Outscape our highest recommendation. read more

After considering two other companies (competitors) we settled on River Rock Outscape for our backyard project, which consisted of total demolition of all existing concrete patio, grass, and shrubs; and replacement with pavers, new barbecue grill area, artificial turf, putting green, and assorted new plantings. Ben,Octavio, and their team were professional, conscientious, and thorough. River Rock Outscape was able to take our original plans and deliver a first rate project. Other competitors wanted to do their own "thing," driving up the price with items we didn't request or want. RR Outscape listened to what we wanted and did a beautiful job. Even three months after completion Brad and his team have been very responsive following up on some finishing touches. I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Brandon and his team did an excellent job creating a long wall that doubles as a bench in our backyard in Escondido. We just bought a new home and were ready to landscape our backyard. Alex came to give us an estimate and was also able to provide us with 3D design images within 48 hours. This made it much easier to get our project approved by HOA. We had pavers, artificial turf, decomposed granite, and a drip system installed and we are very happy with how everything turned out. Everyone involved was friendly, professional, and detailed with their work. We will definitely be using River Rock Outscape when we are ready to get our front yard done. read more

We began our project February 1st and we could not be happier! River Rock did our pavers, fire pit and putting green. Alex and Octovio were great. Alex originally came and gave us our estimate, he came with suggestions on how we can make it look better and stayed in our budget. He introduced us to Octovio and showed us a layout of the final project. They both responded to our phone calls and emails quickly. Would definitely refer them to family and friends. read more

River Rock did a brilliant job when renovating our backyard. Alex gave us wonderful ideas as we designed the layout. He was able to show us how the final product would look 3D on his laptop. Brad came out to us several times to discuss new ideas. Once the project started rolling his employees came on time every day, even Saturdays, to complete the work of demolishing the old gazebo, digging up the old concrete patio, shrubs, and hauling everything away. They took a lot of care to lay the new foundation and travertine pavers, a small surrounding wall, and finally the new gazebo which looks fabulous. Very meticulous (my husband, an engineer, was very particular and very happy!), professional, and respectful. Cleaned up the site every day. The project was completed on time and on budget. They even added a few items to the wall that were not part of the original scope. We highly recommend Brad and his team! read more

We are absolutely delighted with the quality of the work done by River Rock. We had our driveway and all concrete pathways replaced with cobblestone pavers and all our turf replaced with artificial turf. From the initial meeting with Brad, who produced a computer rendition of the project along with his very competitive quote, we were impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of this company. Every detail was addressed and discussed with us before being completed to our desired quality. Several modifications, including moving the sprinkler control station and extending an air conditioning condensate drain were done without any extra charge. Prompt, courteous and friendly people - what a refreshing change! read more

Fabulous, Demo of patio much more difficult than expected because underneath the tiles was about 6" of concrete. Though they didn't ask for it, I paid them more than was due under our contract. Alex at River Rock was responsive and patiently answered all my questions. The work was completed on time. My new driveway looks beautiful!

This is a great company to use for any of your paving projects. My husband and I had been saving up to remodel our backyard ever since the state of CA had been declared drought stricken in 2014. In 2015, Alex Molina then sales person now Project Manager had given us a quote but, unfortunately, we hadn't saved enough for the size of our project. Each year Alex would give us a call and check in to see if we were ready to move forward and each year, we would respond not yet. In 2018, we were finally ready but had decided to go with a competitor only to discover how bad that decision was and very early on. We contacted Alex to let him know we weren't happy with this other company and if he was willing to come over and give us a current proposal. He was more than happy and accommodating to do so. Long story short; Alex (River Rock Outscape) remodeled our backyard with both pavers and artificial turf. The construction crew was amazing!!! Very skilled people and the same crew until the very end of the project. Their work speaks for itself. Alex was available and attentive from beginning to end. We were and are still impressed with the results. I can't speak for any other Project Managers at River Rock Outscape but I can say that my husband and I were super pleased to have Alex Molina as our Project Manager. read more

Very disappointed. We've had several companies come over to build a patio in our backyard. A representative came over - very cordial and all, and we explained to him what we wanted and what we did not want for our project. He came back within 24h with a quote (extremely fast) - but had incorporated everything we had specifically told him WE DID NOT WANT. Besides, the quote turned out to be 30% more expensive than the 'ballpark figure' he'd given us onsite. When I enquired about it, and whether it was a mishap, or a misunderstanding or something... well, no answer... Nothing. That was 2 weeks ago. So I guess we will be working with another company. read more

The consultant failed to get several key details right in the quote/proposal. And what was quoted was way overpriced, as much as 3x what others quoted for some parts of the project. River Rock Outscape did a beautiful job with our pavers, and we're incredibly happy with the finished product. They were here on time every day, working rain or shine. Very nice employees and answered any questions we had during the process. We'd definitely use River Rock again for a project, just be sure to communicate often with them. We removed one star for some of the stresses we had during the process. The plan was to widen our driveway and place pavers to drive on. They left a trash pile (roots, old pipe, rocks, etc) of things that were found during the dirt demo for a few days in our front yard, which was unsightly for our neighbors and I wish it had been out of eyesight. Aside from this issue, they were very clean, swept and picked up their tools everyday. Then we discovered a sewage line that would need to be lowered. The project contractor made it sound like no big deal to move. After we told them we'd like to have our plumber come take a look, they admitted they don't specialize in plumbing pipes and shouldn't lower the pipes themselves. We saw a lot of duct taped drain lines during their process, so I'm glad we made the call to get a plumber in to take care of it. (Note: They clarified the duct tape was only temporary when we asked about it.) The plumber made sure the sewage line was low enough to safely drive over and had an access point for us to get down there if need be. It all worked out in the end, but I can't imagine if we drove on top of an incorrectly moved pipe. Make sure to get a second opinion on major pipes like this (and possibly have the county come out to mark any gas and water lines prior to your project - turns out a gas line was close to where they were digging in the backyard as well). One other thing that concerned us was a dirt pile they had left close to the curb on a forecasted rainy night that they did not cover with a tarp. We had to call and ask after they had left for the day. But like I said above, if you stay in communication, you really will be happy with the work. They have competitive pricing once you add in the 30% discount - it was similar to some of the other quotes we received for the paving work. Overall we had a good experience with this company. read more

I received a quote from Alex. He seemed very knowledgeable and was polite. I have read other reviews saying their prices are low or are competitive. I am a senior citizen so maybe I am behind the times but a quote of $3535 to spread lava rock over a 1010 sq ft patch of dirt doesn't seem very low to me. This was with "30% off." I had some DG and other crushed rock that needed spreading as part of the quote. They were equally high. There was no excavation required because I did it myself. I passed. read more

They are very fast and efficient and the price was reasonable. Most Highly recommended!!! read more

I should have written this review last December but it's never too late to refer a good company. I had the hillside in my backyard terraced after my dog pretty much tore up all the ice plant that covered the area. I called RiverRock to come take a look at the area. I had used them before to install pavers around my pool. I now wanted those pavers to connect to the steps of the terrace. Brad came out to our home and discussed what I wanted. He had a program on his laptop and was able to put our ideas into a picture for me. He suggested some changes that would accommodate the grade of the slope. I really liked his ideas and told him of my plans to have trees and a vegetable garden in that area. He paid attention to everything I said because at the very end when they were putting dirt in back of the retaining walls he brought in organic top soil for my plants. I never requested that, it was just something he did. Since a picture is worth a 1,000 words I am including some pictures of the project. His crew were really good guys. They were respectful of the surrounding pool area and landscape. I have an old dog and an elderly mother that I care for, they were kind to both of them :-) Everyday they left the work area safe and secure for us. RiverRock more than fulfilled their contract with me. I felt like they gave me a very fair price and did not skimp on anything. I wholeheartedly recommend them after having them do 2 major projects for me. Jackie P read more

River Rock did pavers, a wall and a fire pit for us. The attention to detail was great and our backyard looks beautiful! There were a couple of issues that I won't go into detail on because they fixed them right away and were concerned about making sure they had a happy client. We already have another job in mind for them in a couple of months. We also threw a few issues at them and they were very good with dealing with our issues. They were not the cheapest but we were in good hands and their quality of work was worth the extra cost. They were very reliable and finished very quickly. read more
