This place is a must! The people working here made the experience fun! Did escape the river survivor challenge and had a blast! The challenges were fun and kept you on your toes. Keep it up and can't wait to come back see the tree houses!! If you're on the fence of coming, JUST DO IT! any age . P.S. wear closed toe shoes there may be running involved

Who knew you could stay in a treehouse on a secluded island right here in Horry County? We spent 4 nights on the Island and the River Island Adventures team was great! All you need to bring is food and clothes, but make sure you pack light, especially if the water level is low. Normally the pontoon boat would take you right up to the treehouse. Unfortunately we hadn't seen rain in a while, so we had to walk our things a little ways, but the team was there to help. They made sure we had kayaks for the whole group and all our supplies were taken care of and restocked on a daily basis as needed.

What a great organization! A family reunion with 22 people from 13 to 71. Could try to explain our first try let's just say the weather was dangerous with severe lightning and heavy rain for over 2 hours. Jeff (owner) was extremely accommodating and we rescheduled. The team of employees were so concerned for our safety. Fast forward to our Survivor experience WOW!!! Everyone had a blast!! Our group diminished to 12 participants 6 teams of 2. It was the highlight of a week together. Jeff and his team are fun, helpful and they love what they do. The challenges make you work as a team, laugh and bond. Thanks again Jeff,

Staff were super nice but when we got there, what was offered wasn't what we paid for. We booked a 2 hour guided river kayak tour at 2:30p thru Expedia. When we got there we were told we have a half day pass and the guided tour was only done in the morning. It was very disappointing to go out on the kayaks on our own. Not being local, it would have been nice to learn about the history of the area or local information from the guide. Even tho we could have hung around the rest of the day, we only had planned the kayaking portion of the camp so that's all we did. The river was super low due to drought conditions, but we did see turtles, fish and clams. We spent 2 hours on the river, going in a loop so no worries about getting lost lol. All in all a fun experience, just not what we expected when we booked.

Talk about service! We forgot our water bottle and this staff member swam it out to our tubes!

Ask the Community - River Island Adventures

Do they allow you to bring a backpack or fanny pack on the kayaks during the tour?

Yes, you are welcome to bring whatever you would like on the kayak tours.

I love tubing but I live in Ohio? Aren't there alligators?

Alligators are not an issue on our part of the Waccamaw River. I swim in the river all the time with my kids in the summer.

We went with the Grand Strand Hotel experience on the easiest mode, as we wanted fun more than a huge mental challenge. Our game manager (whose name escapes me, unfortunately...no pun intended!) assured us that we could get more than the standard three hints, if desired, and gave us a solid introduction to the specific room and escape rooms in general. He was generous with the hints throughout; I'd say that if you *don't* want some proactive help from your manager, it's worth mentioning that to them in advance. The room itself was interesting! I can't say much so as to avoid spoilers, but it was a fun mix of challenges, and we managed to escape with 59 seconds left. Overall, it was a great experience that left us looking forward to coming back on a future trip and also made me look forward to trying out more escape rooms in general.

Mystery Mansion -…read morefamily of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers), we've done several rooms in the past - exclusive room booking was a big plus for us (just our family, no one else) - finished with 14 minutes to spare, so didn't really feel like a 8/10 in difficulty - "steampunk" in theme, but only minimally - Our host was very nice and plesant, but gave us a clue we didn't ask for mid-game, which was a little dissapointing. - Not very "mansion like" design-wise, but it was ultimately an iteresting use of limited space. Build quality of the room was ok, not as elaborate and "big budget" as some of the local competition, but decent. - Some entertaining puzzles, sometimes it was hard to tell if the puzzle was solved successfully though... we'd get to the solution, then later a door might open (maybe the game-master was remotely triggering for broken/worn-out hardware?). Some of them seemed a little old and worn. - One puzzle had no logic behind it, it was just random, which was dissapointing. Summary: A enjoyable 45 minute escape from the heat and the rain. Not the best escape room we've done, but not the worst either.

The Escape Game in Myrtle Beach allows mixed parties of up to 8 book the same time slot for the adventures. When we arrived, we were paired with a family of 6 enjoying some time together. We all entered the room together (The Depths) and we could tell that this experience was not going to be as fun for the family with the two of us tagging along. We exited to the lobby, where the staff were totally understanding and were able to get us into another adventure (Prison Break), within 20 minutes. We had a blast in the game and were able to escape, which is always a good feeling. When we got back to the lobby the staff wanted to make sure our experience was amazing and hooked us up with a T-Shirt because of the experience at the beginning. All of this to say that if you go, and you have an issue, don't be afraid to speak up. The staff here will figure out a way to make the experience amazing.

This Escape Room deserves their near perfect score on yelp and elsewhere…read more We had time to kill during the hotter part of the days, and we found this for our kids (8 and under) to try to their first escape room. They had so much fun we signed up for another one right away. By the end of the week we had come back and done all 5 rooms. Every single room/theme was unique, with a mixture of traditional devices, and high-tech devices. The quality of the escape rooms were top notch. Puzzles were challenging but reasonable. Some really clever unexpected solutions too. But the best part? The staff. Incredibly friendly and great with kids. They created lifelong escape room fans out of our kids. Sure we (adults) did most of the actual solving, but the kids enjoyed finding different objects / props and helping solve clues. There's a good mix of everything. We will definitely try other locations with different themes, in the future. But it will be hard to top the staff experience here at myrtle beach.
