Went here with my boyfriend on a Wednesday afternoon. We made a reservation online and paid. It cost about $40 per person. The have about 4-5 escape rooms to pick from. You have to check the website bc they don't run every hour. We arrived 10 min early just to make sure we were able to start our game on time. There was parking available. The staff was super friendly Asha was so nice and friendly. She walked us to the room she explained the rules and when we needed help she gave us hints. We did the mansion room and man it was hard. We have done escaped rooms in the past but this room was one of the most difficult ones we have ever done. It was very challenging but it was so much fun. This room I would say was the best. We have been to escapology in other cities and I love how the room is private. It was just the two of us playing. The room can hold 8 people. Some places put you in a room with strangers and you aren't able to play until you have enough players. This is one of the best features this place has which is the privacy. This place was great we had an awesome time. If you are looking for something to do. This is the place to go. read more

I am disappointed because I was really excited to try this place, but the service affected our experience. When we got there we were provided with gloves which was nice, but when we got inside the game master was extremely unhelpful. She was supposed to be present to give us clues, but the sound system would cut out meaning we could barely understand what she would say. Not only that, but she would leave her post at times. We were left for 5 minutes singing the bell waiting for her so we could ask a hint. That game master lost ya valuable time, I understand if we're not doing well at an escape room but if we have to wait on the staff why the clock is ticking that's a waste of our money. The clues were sometimes a little unrelated too each other and not very impressive, but rather time wasters. Once you knew what to do, the execution would have to take you a while.. I would rather have many little clues, then clues that take time to execute. I really wish we could do this again, but with the staff being present. The lack of the game masters attention and presence hurt us and overall made this experience very unprofessional. read more

We have gone to other escapology locations and loved them, but were not impressed with this one. This location was more expensive ($100 for two people) than other locations we have been to and it wasn't as nice. My husband and I did the Cuban Crisis room as it is unique to this location and specifically asked for no hints. At the end, the girl gave us a multi part hint without us asking and when we followed it it was the end of the room and we escaped immediately with 20 minutes left. Afterwards she said she couldn't help but tell us what to do and wanted to "so badly" at the beginning as well. This was extremely disappointing as we hadn't even spent a good chunk of time trying to figure it out. The Cuban crisis room was very easy, not well designed, and lacked creativity as is without this girl ruining the end for us with 20 minutes left. read more

We've been to 9+ escape rooms and thought we would try a new one, when we asked the person explaining the game if all clues from room 1 stayed in room one, we were told YES. unfortunately that was not the case and we wasted so much time in room 2 until we finally asked for a hint and they told us to go back to room 1. This was our first escape room in SC, and we were very excited for the awesome themed rooms! We decided to do the 7 deadly sins themed room. When we arrived, it was pleasantly cleaned and the staff were very friendly, we had trouble for some odd reason reviving the email conformation with the waiver but it was no trouble since we could fill them out at the location! The room was great, but our game master wasn't the best... it seemed as if she was consistently leaving her area, at times taking 2-3 minutes to give us clues, and when we asked for clues, it was almost as if she wasn't paying attention, giving us information we already knew or that was completely unhelpful. And In an escape room, time is of the essence. So we were a little bummed, the room was great, but the host made it a little difficult to get that immersive and helpful experience people seek out in escape rooms. Very nice and friendly, just inadequate guidance. John made an attempt to contact us and give us a free room to make up for the guidance, Unfortunatly we had already left town, but it's great to know that the escape room is good hands! read more

This was our first time trying an escape room, and we found the experience to be extremely enjoyable. We picked Lost City and booked the room for 2 people and signed the waivers online. The staff were friendly and gave us a rundown of how escape rooms work as well as appropriate hints throughout our experience. Everything was very clean and well organized and although we weren't able to complete the puzzles we felt motivated rather than discouraged. We'll definitely be trying this again! read more

We were in town for a cheer competition and I just had my two kids.We have done 6-7 escape rooms so this was not our first time.We did the Cuban bomb one and of course the typical rules you shouldn't have to force anything etc.We came to the cigar box and tried to open it and could not.So we assumed maybe a magnetic lock or some kind of puzzle within the box and there wasn't anything.We kept going back to that dumb box.We absolutely failed it wasn't a nice transition of clues,felt very all over the place.When it ended we asked the girl how to open it and she told us oh you have to really force it hard....Now why didn't they tell us that over the intercom.The previous reviews had mentioned lack of interaction from the ones running and they were right.It was just a meh experience I am annoyed we wasted our money.Even at that the puzzles weren't really fun.There wasn't one thing that was impressive of the puzzles.When you got stumped the hints just came and it was all over the place.Even when going into the room and the girl introduced herself it was just really awkward and she said nothing other then watch the video lol.I would rank this with traveling amusement parks.Don't go here thinking it's Disney World when its just a travel amusement park.I hoped this would be different then the typical MB vacay touristy type vibe but it wasn't.Save yourself the money and maybe people watch at Walmart that at least was amusing. read more

WOW!! This place is great!! And it has amazing staff!! My partner and I played the seven deadly sins game and it was super fun!! The escape room is well though out and very complex! Not to mention the AMAZING STAFF who were working!! Both Robert and Bri were super sweet and friendly! They were so nice that once we finished one room we honestly decided to do another on the spot! As it had started thundering and pouring! It was super fun too! We also did the Lost treasure one! I really do recommend both of these rooms! Definitely request Bri and Robert though! I sent an email to the owner and haven't heard from them in over a week, so I'll post my experience here. There are many escape rooms in Myrtle Beach. I'd recommend choosing another over this one. The plus? It's a nice, clean building. I'd like to say that the props were quality, but there were a few that were broken. The worst part of our escape room (the Wild West themed one) was that the final, grand finale puzzle -- the one you need to solve to escape the room -- WAS UNLOCKED. The host blamed it on the person who worked the night before not setting up the room before he left for the night, so the current host had to rush to get the room ready for us. Kind of a bummer, right? Unlike the other escape rooms I've been in, the hosts didn't actually watch us. So when I called for a hint, the response was something like, "Well, have you found the xxx yet?" or "Have you found all the xxx yet?" The host could see us, but wasn't watching us. I could tell that the hosts simply didn't care and weren't invested in our experience. At the end, we received via email a 970x720 pixel, unlit, upside down picture of our group with our host's finger in the upper-right corner. We booked the Lost City adventure in advance online - only room available the day before, but it worked with our availability while in MB. Their waiting area is comfortable with lots to check out and games to play. The greeter was personable and shared the details of the room and the game. We had our own private experience for the three of us. We needed a couple of hints and the game master was able to help us out to get us on the right track. We finished with 3 minutes to spare! We've done several escape rooms over the past couple of years, and this is one of the best. The staff were exceptionally polite and conversational. The price was cheaper than some of the other escape rooms we've done at around $98 (that's including tax) for three adults. We did their most difficult room, TH3 COD3 (a 7.3/10 difficulty), and managed to finish with 08:39 remaining. The room itself may look simple and sparse when you first enter, but don't let that fool you. Even though we're not escape room virgins we still had to use a couple of hints. There are plenty of red herrings as well as genuine clues to keep you entertained, making the 60 minutes fly by. We started off slow, but by the end we were yelling, smiling, and working together to beat the clock. At the end of our game, we got to pose with different props for the photo they took, which was then emailed to each of us using the emails we provided to them earlier. So whether you're sunburnt and need a break from the beach, or are just looking for something to do before or after dinner, Escapology Myrtle Beach is a great option, and I'd encourage anyone to give it a shot. Tried this while visiting Myrtle Beach and oh my gosh....what a blast!! We had a mix of adults, teens and children and everyone absolutely loved this event!! We played The Code and it was challenging, but our game master gave us hints to guide us in the right direction and we escaped! The facility was clean and inviting. Escapology, the place where you spend $150 for the staff to do the puzzles and riddles for you. we hardly had a chance to figure anything out or communicate with eachother before an employee started telling us where to look and what to do, Step-by-step. We were provided a marker and whiteboard for notes, too bad out marker was dead from the beginning, we informed the staff and had to wait 40 minutes for them to bring us one because they forgot (60 minute game). Yeah the rooms are set up really nice, aesthetically. That's about it, would much rather go to Riddles for an "Escape Room Experience" for half the price. read more

This was a great alternative to mini golf. My husband and I and our three teenage kids really enjoyed ourself. It was clean, a good story line (we did antidote) and we had fun figuring out the clues together. Our game master, Desi, was very helpful and encouraging. I would definite recommend. Went here with the family (5 of us altogether) on Labor Day weekend & did the Arizona Shootout. Pros: large, clean, cool looking foyer area. Not crowded...we were the only ones there. The gamemaster let us start an hour early bc our buffet lunch didn't take as long as we thought. IF we get the 15% discount listed on Yelp website, then that would be nice. I need to check my credit card. He didn't seem to want to "give" it to me. Best part of this place, rooms are smallish, so it's geared towards 6 max, which means private rooms and no strangers. Cons: We finished in about a half hour. Something about paying $150 for a half hour of fun seems very wrong to me. Black light may or may not be used, but they are done so much, there wasn't any real high tech cool - new puzzles or challenges. The biggest "different/unique" puzzle utilized the piano, but...I don't want to give anything away. I feel like it's over priced given the speed at which it's solved and lack of cool techy puzzles. But, we still had fun...for 30 minutes. Maybe the other 2 rooms are better? Not a lot (am I the first?) of reviews on here. That struck me as odd, too. Looking forward to what other people thought of this particular room as well as the other 2. read more
