Yelp 100 Challenge -#35…read more Wonder Works is a 4 level arcade offering different attractions and things to do on each level. Wonder Works is great for a first date or even a fun family outing. 1st Floor includes the lobby, gift shop, Wonder Cafe, Hurricane Shack, Xtreme 360 Bikes, Physical Challenge Zone, and party room. 2nd Floor includes Laser Tag. If you have a little child, you may be able to take turns and go in different heats. 3rd Floor includes the wall of illusions, XD Theater, draw alive, Wonder Coaster, Bed of Nails, Bubble Lab, and STEM Room. 4th Floor includes space discovery, ropes course, arcade games that you purchase to play, art of Dr Seuss, Imagination Lab, and Interactive Sandbox. My favorite was the digital Wonder Coaster. It is an indoor ride that follows along a video of a roller coaster flipping you and spinning you like the real thing. I recommend wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing so you are able to ride majority of the attractions inside. You can also add on the Wonder Works casebook and slice different riddles as you explore the four levels.

It's a fun spot for kids, but as an adult, I wouldn't feel the need to go back. It can get pretty crowded, so I'd recommend going early on a weekday instead of the weekend if you can. A few of the exhibits weren't working during my visit, which was a little disappointing. While it's entertaining, I do think the price is a bit high--around $35 per person would feel more reasonable than $40. Overall, it's a decent way to spend some time, especially for families, but not something I'd go out of my way to do again.

We sat at the bar to grab something quick to eat and drink, but the service was pretty slow. It looked like there were only two bartenders working, and with it being spring break plus half-off games on Wednesday, it was definitely busy. One random thing I actually loved--the bar chairs! They had real back support and were super comfortable, not your typical stiff bar stools. We ordered boneless wings and fries. I love their fries, but the wings weren't my favorite--I think it was just the sauce we chose. Also, one of my biggest pet peeves: charging extra for sauce. They wanted $0.59 for an extra blue cheese... like, come on That said, the deal we got made it worth it. It was $39.99 and included $35 in game play, so the food basically came out to $5. With half-off games, we were able to stretch that into about an hour of play, which was great. Everything seemed clean, and our bartender was very nice despite being clearly overwhelmed. Overall, a fun stop with good value--just expect slower service if it's busy.

Even though it was fairly busy, our server came to our table with a smile and was very professional and attentive. We did not have to wait long for our drinks or our food. Food came out hot and tasty! The restaurant photographer came around our table and took family pictures and gave us a great discount because it was my son's 40th birthday. They even had a balloon artist that came by for the grandkids. After we ate, we went into the arcade and had a lot of fun! We will definitely come back. Sorry. I forgot to take pictures. We were having too much fun.

The kids were obsessed with the fact that it's the height of 15 great white sharks stacked end to end. (Shoutout to the trivia signs in the line for that little gem--both educational and slightly terrifying!) They were also thrilled we got to go around five full times, which gave them plenty of time to argue over who could see farther and point out imaginary sharks in the ocean below. Meanwhile, I got to enjoy the views--the beach, the boardwalk, and most importantly, three kids sitting still, contained, and not actively picking on each other. A miracle. I even got a good photo where everyone's smiling and no one's mid-slap or eye roll. Worth every penny for that alone. It's not the cheapest attraction in town, but between the ocean views, the smooth ride, and the rare moment of peace, I'd say it earns its price tag. TL;DR: Stunning views, smooth ride, and just enough shark trivia to keep the kids distracted from sibling rivalry. A must-do if you're okay with heights--or parenting solo while your spouse isn't.
