We've had a house in Sunset for close to 10 years but have somehow never made our way over here until this past weekend. We've heard tons of good things about it too. We came on a day when we thought the weather at the beach was going to be less than ideal - lucky for us, the Zipline tours operate rain or shine. We ended up having great weather for it too! It was super easy to book. Once we got there, they got us kitted out, then we went through a quick (yet thorough) instruction on how to safely zipline. It was a group of 5 of us plus our guides. The tour took about 2 - 2.5 hours, and you get to go on 10 different ziplines. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon. Especially if the weather is going to be less than ideal and you need some way to kill time. Our tour guides, Chase, Miles, and Zach, were great! Thanks y'all! read more

Loved the ATVs!! Staff super friendly! Mary, our guide did a great job keeping us safe and giving us a great time!

My family's experience with The Swamp Park Zipline tour was great! All of us did the Zipline and two of us did the Free Fall add-on. For the Zipline tour, we had Jesse, Margaret, and Lacey as our guides and all of them were great! Jesse is very fun and funny, Margaret is super sweet, and Lacey had amazing knowledge on fun facts throughout the tour! The zip lines were very fun, and all three guides took every measure to ensure our safety, creating a good sense of trust. We all felt like a group of friends by the end of our tour. They also take photos at the beginning, middle, and end of the tour with specific spots for photo ops which I truly appreciate! (You do have to pay for the photos.) I will absolutely recommend The Swamp Park to friends and family! We plan to come back and try the ATV tour next! read more

Shallotte River Swamp Park - Zip Line Bridge - Amusement Parks Near Me - Ocean Isle, North Carolina

This was an afternoon filled with tons of fun! We were in the area for vacation and OIB has the usually beachy entertainment options. This one was a refreshing break from mini golf and arcades and fun for both kids and adults. We had a pretty large group and some did the zip line course and some braved the adventure park (aka ropes course). We had lots and lots of fun, overcame some anxiety, and had a few sore muscles to show off our achievements. I also owe a big shout out to George, who was amazingly patient with my crew and helped coordinate the outing so that we all started/finished around the same times. I also heard from the kids that their guides were fantastic. They were especially impressed that they remembered every single person's name for an event that lasts only a few hours. read more

We had a great time ziplining! Our guides were Bebo and Mary. Not only did we complete the longest zip line on the Eastern Seaboard, we learned a ton from Bebo about the ecology of the park and the surrounding area. It was a great experience and we hope to return one day to do the ropes course. read more

We had so much fun today. Some of us were first time Zipliners and a little nervous but our guides Jack and Jesse were great. They explained everything, told silly jokes but really put you at ease. Their knowledge of the swamp, trees, etc. was an added bonus. We will definitely be back. I wish they offered a package deal for some of the adventures though, we would have done the ATV tour also. read more

My 13 year old grandson and I had an amazing and very enjoyable experience on the Zip Lines! Our guides Jesse and Bebo were the greatest. The kept us safe, informed, interested, and excited the whole time. They shared a lot of information about the wildlife and the trees in the Park. After we were done, my grandson made the comment that he was glad we chose this place for his first Zip Line experience. I will back with more of our grandkids when the come to visit us. read more

BOBO + hunter were the best guides on the zip line , they made funny jokes and made sure to explain everything great! $89 per person very pricey but there is 10 zip lines + 2 bridges you go on. the obstacle and the "penguin jump" are extra $. over good & fun family experience. read more

My partner set up a zipline outing for my birthday, and while fearful and hesitant at first, we left wishing we could do it all over again. Chris and Jack were our guides for the experience and we couldn't have asked for a better duo. They were very lighthearted, funny, informative, and very patient as we got adjusted to the heights for the first time, and got over our fears. We also appreciated their thoroughness in guiding us through the safety rules and regulations to ensure we had a smooth, fun, but safe experience. When going through the different ziplines, we felt that the patience, comfort and confidence they provided throughout the process made us let go of our fear and really take in what nature had to offer. What was also great was spending time learning a multitude of things along the way. Everytime we got a chance to stop at the next checkpoint we learned a fun fact about nature and about their experiences with animals that would appear during a lot of the zip lining tours. The whole process also made us feel quite safe - We had our harness, the zipline trolley/break, and two additional lines with clips for safety. We never touched our lines, and let Chris and Jack control those for safety reasons and guide us through the experience. Part of our package also included photos, and Jack led the front with taking them. He captured tons of moments in those photos, and also some of the funny conversations and encounters with nature we had along the way. To anyone who is scared of heights, or hesitant to try this experience, I HIGHLY recommend trying this out, and asking for Chris and Jack. They made the zipline tour memorable, and we were left with quite a lot of stories to tell about the whole journey. I would give this experience, and the whole park 100 stars if possible. Upon leaving everyone was so nice, wished me Happy Birthday, and guided us to the walking trail so we could see some alligators before leaving. Highly recommend this spot and we'll be coming again. read more

We had so much fun going here for an adult birthday in July. Alligators all over, but they are contained and there are bridges and walkways. Zip line courses galore. The obstacle course through the trees was amazing. The plus side if you don't want to take on an obstacle it's easy to skip it and repeat the last one or hit the next one. It's up to you!! We did have somebody get stuck in the tree tops on some circles they couldn't figure out how to maneuver and it was hysterical! The staff is amazing fitting you with gear, there to help if you need it. Explaining anything you have questions about. Go and enjoy. I'm sure there is more there than we did. Maybe swamp tours and 4 wheelers. read more

We took our 14 yr old to do the ropes course. They have a covered porch and rocking chairs for spectators to sit. He did great and the staff were awesome. The course looked challenging. He is very tall and skinny he made it almost to the end but he didn't feel he had the upper body strength to complete the last half of the 3rd level without touching his lead line. He will try again next year! read more

This place is super, super cool!  Everyone here from the Owner, to General Manager, to Team is very attentive, friendly, helpful, passionate about what they do, and want to make sure you are having a good time. The offerings from the ropes course, to swamp tours, to zip line are all well-defined, reasonably separated, and individual adventures all in their own.  If you look at the pricing and are concerned, I just compared it to the Cadillac vs Honda Customer Service theory.  Both are fine cars, as is Swamp Park and its competitors.  But if you are looking for a Honda go elsewhere.  If you really want a Cadillac of a zip line, ropes course, and customer service experience, go ahead and pay for it and come to Swamp Park.  You'll not be disappointed. Ask about their discount on multiple adventures.  Ask about their locals discount on Sundays.  Tons happening here.  Stop by, explore, have fun, and don't miss out. Dana, George, and the zip line instructor with long hair and a beard (can't believe I forgot his name) you all Rock! read more

My aunt and I went on the ATV tour on June 30th and it was an amazing experience. Our guide Kelly was fascinating to talk to and took into account the experience or inexperience of everyone riding. There were times I wish we would go a little faster however, she was very considerate of those who were having some difficulty. There's a lot of fun spots where there's some deep mud ruts and water so you will get a little dirty. There is a small lake that you ride around that is beautiful. The machines are well maintained and handle well. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in trying riding an ATV for the first time or for someone who is experienced and just wants to have some fun for a few hours. I highly recommend Kelly as the tour guide. read more

My GF and I just did their ATV tour. It was awesome! The trails are an excellent windy ride through a swampy forest. Our tour guide, Adam, did a great job of keeping a solid pace and keeping an eye on us as we navigated. Also had a nice little hike through the gator refuge and swamp after -- customer service was also excellent! Will be sure to come back at next year's family reunion and do their zip-line! read more

Went on a swamp boat tour with our three younger children and everyone loved it! Our boat guide was extremely knowledgeable about the ecosystem of the swamp and all of its inhabitants. There's a good example of a beaver lodge, and we even saw a barred owl! Along the path to the boat dock they have rescue gators which were fun to see! After the boat tour we went on the zip line and ropes courses. Our guides were absolutely phenomenal!!! I cannot say enough good things about this hidden gem. Everyone needs to experience this place! read more

Visitors should be aware that the different price tiers at the Aerial Adventure Park determine the courses you can use. If you have an adventurous 6 year-old, consider paying the 7-year old rate to give you the option of trying the intermediate courses. Make sure the staff understands that you've paid the 7-year old rate and are prepared to allow you on the intermediate courses if and when your child masters the beginner courses. I took my son to the Aerial Adventure Park two days before his 7th birthday. Because he was under 7, the staff only allowed him on two easy courses, and he quickly bored of the obstacles. Multiple staff members told me that 6 year olds could not move on to the intermediate courses "for insurance reasons". As a result, we spent much of our time waiting behind children who were either too young or too scared to navigate the obstacles. We were also pulled off the course 10 minutes early. I spoke with a park manager several days after our visit, and it turns out that the staff was simply misinformed. He listened to my feedback and we agreed upon a partial refund. One positive thing about the adventure course itself was that the restraint system was simpler and safer than others I've used. We also enjoyed looking at the alligators and walking the nature trail. read more

We were a group of 14 and had the best time of our lives at The Swamp Park!.. My first phone call to George (manager) was super helpful. He explained everything from activity headcount restrictions, to safety considerations, weight limit, and footwear requirements! Our group felt so ready even before we got there. We were there the whole day doing Zipline, Aerial Adventure, and ATV eco-tour. They even have a huge covered pavilion which was perfect for the lunch picnic we brought along. The facility was very clean and all equipment were in great condition. We were super impressed. Of course, the weather cooperated too. 73 degrees in late December was a true bonus! Lastly, the staff were soo friendly and GREAT in every way! We enjoyed each activity and felt very safe throughout. This place was truly the highlight of our trip. We made awesome memories and still talk about them! A huge thank you to: George (manager), Lindsay and Scott (Zipline), Jessie & Kelly (Aerial Adventure), & Dillan (ATV). You guys rock!! read more

We had such a great time ziplining here on our trip to Ocean Isle Beach! The staff were funny, friendly, and personable, while still keeping safety at the top of mind. Our tour guides Matt and Graham were excellent! Our group ranged from ages 22 to 65+ and all of us had so much fun! The zip lines were fun and exciting - the views for some of them were really nice and relaxing. We did 10 in total. There were also some bridges to walk past to switch things up. They took pictures also the whole time for purchase after the tour. We also ended our tour right when the staff started feeding the alligators. They let us watch as they fed their alligators past the blocked off trail. A fun added bonus! These guys were huge! Definitely recommend if you're looking for something different on your next trip the beach - they also have ropes courses, boat rides, swamp trails, ATVs, and more! read more

Did the ATV tour with Chris as the guide and it was awesome. The trail we went through was epic!

We went zip lining on Saturday at 9 am and it was very fun! It was early enough that the four of us had the lines to ourselves and beat the crowd. The 10 lines were a lot of fun and Kelly and Kylie were great guides, joked around but held safety the whole time. Definitely worth the money! Pictures are not included in the price which is a little unfortunate but still a great time. You'll go from the woods to the swamps and from built platforms to platforms built on trees. We saw a lot of wild life in the swamps but were far enough that we didn't bother their natural habitat. A must do if in the area read more

Great day of Zip lining. It was our first time so we were all a little nervous but the staff is top notch and made the kids and myself feel right at ease. After the first two runs the butterflies were gone and we couldn't wait to do it again. Our guides were tremendous. Matt and Jesse were like a millennial style Abbott and Costello. One full of interesting facts and the other a little goofy But both were very professional and was apparent that they enjoy their work read more

Went here with my family of 4 (mom, dad, 10-year-old and 12-year old) and did the 10-line zip course. We had a great time. Our kids were kind of nervous because it was our first time zip lining. However, it's clear from the moment you start that there is a huge emphasis on safety at this place and that put everyone at ease. You do a very basic "intro course" at ground level and then 2 trips on relatively low lines (they called the intro course "elementary school" and the 2 low lines "middle school"). By the time we got to the first "real" line everyone, including one of my typically super-anxious kids, felt totally comfortable and ready to go. There were 2 "guides" who were very nice and competent. Again, they were focused on protocol and being safe, but also cracked a lot of jokes and had some fun facts about the swamp wildlife. After the 2 lower beginner zip lines you then do 8 more lines that ring around the park. There are also 3 wooden bridges that are part of the loop. Takes about 2 - 2.5 hours total. We didn't do the ropes/obstacle course but it looked really, really cool. We will definitely do that on a future visit. Can't speak to the boat tour. We went during the afternoon in the summer (i.e., super hot). There was some cover on the various towers and then in the tree canopy as well. You were in the direct sun maybe 35-40% of the time (?). All I can say is that I thought the sun/heat was going to be miserable, and it was only "uncomfortable" (that's good!). All that to say, I wouldn't rule out going solely based on sun/heat/miserableness. The fun far outweighed the discomfort. I've been going down to this part of NC for a long time. It's rare to find an operation this polished and professional in this area. I wish them the best. read more

Our party had a great time here! Due to covid we were nervous but everyone at the park wore masks and we felt safe. We loved the different options for courses and after we gone through them all (except red bc our kids were too young) they let our kids continue to go through them over and over till our time ran out. It wasn't crowded which we appreciated and we had 2 workers near us to help if anyone got stuck or needed encouragement. The two youngest 7 year olds had a blast going through all the courses and we parents also survived! The 9, 10 and 11 year old also enjoyed the more challenging levels Overall our whole crew agreed that we would definitely be back again. Next time we want to try the zip line ! The alligator sanctuary was also nice to walk through at the end. read more

Then we went on the atv tour, which is what drew us to the area. My husband was most excited for this tour and it did not disappoint! The mud, dips and trails were a blast! We really enjoyed it, and my husband couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had. Matt did a great job guiding us through our atv tour.
