Wow! What a memorable time we had with TourH2O! We wanted to add a little adventure to our beach trip and Captain Jim and Mother Nature delivered! Never seen so many dolphins at one time before! Caught a shrimp boat in action, too. Captain Jim positioned us just right to get a good view of the whole operation. What a down-to-earth, and likable guy. He was also very knowledgeable of the area and we enjoyed it all even more just seeing how much fun he was having! He made the experience especially meaningful for our grandson, as well. We took a two hour boat tour on May 3 with some friends and we all LOVED it! Captain Inman was laid back, relaxed and friendly and shared some great local lore with us, as well as pointing out cool landmarks we'd never seen. We had a four year old and six year old with us whose first boat ride it was, and we were very impressed with how relaxed Captain Inman made us feel, also answering the kids' questions. We'd all been to Holden Beach before, but this boat tour gave us a whole new perspective on the area. We are big into birding and were thrilled with being able to see water birds up close as we wove through the beautiful marshes. A highlight was being able to see the smoke stack poking out of the water of the sunken steamship Bendigo. Loved going up through Varnamtown and the Lockwood's Folly River. TourH2O Southport was spectacular! Captain Inman is an expert seaman who knows the Carolina waters and the area's history. He has taken classes to stay informed and utilizes a smart phone when guest answers are unknown. This sharing of knowledge makes TourH2O a great activity for visitors to do first when vacationing. For example, members of our party knew the answers to questions asked during the Oak Island Lighthouse tour in Caswell Beach, and we ate well because of the captain's worthy restaurant recommendations. The three hour boat tour was catered to the needs of our group of four. We spent time in calm waters to enjoy our packed wine and cheese snack, and we were not rushed when seeing dolphins at play. Guest needs were also respected when taking sunset pictures. I truly recommend TourH2O Southport when visiting North Carolina. we were vacationing at Holden Beach during Thanksgiving week. The grandkids wanted to go fishing. We chartered a 4 hour trip with Uber H2O to fish in the intercoastal waterway. Captain Jim was very friendly and personable. Grandma and Grandpa were not that interested in fishing so we just enjoyed the ride and admired all the houses along the waterway. Cap't Jim let the kids drive the boat. He showed them how to bait the hook, cast, reel in and land the fish , and take the hook out. By the end of the trip they were all proficient in these skills except for little Liberty who didn't want to hold the fish (although she didn't mind baiting the hook). But the kids wanted to fish and fish they did.They caught big fish and little fish and all kinds of fish. But most importantly they caught lots of fish. TOURH20 is not good .... It is amazingly great! We had an absolutely amazing time - twilight on the intercoastal @ Holden Beach - yes just that is a pretty good start but being on the water on a beautiful boat enjoying the scenery was just wonderful... but and this is a big BUT captain Don was / is awesome. We had just the best captain/ guide - he did I a great job guiding through the water - the stories and history he shared were the perfect compliment to an already amazing evening. If you'd like to explore Holden Beach from the water - I think you will have a great time - it is beautiful ... but if you want to have an amazing time ... do it on a TOURH2O boat with some good friends and a cooler filled with your favorite drinks ... and if you want to have an off the hook time ... do all that and add Captain Don! read more

We had a wonderful sunset cruise with Captain Inmen. We saw wildlife, dolphins, and learned a lot of interesting and historical facts about the Cape Fear River and surrounding area. What impressed me the most was how Captain Inmen took pride in his work. He shared how he had taken classes and read various publications so he could give the most accurate presentation of the sights we saw. He was so good that when my out of town guests climbed the Oak Island Lighthouse on the following day, they could answer some of the lighthouse guide's questions based on what they learned the night before. I would highly recommend TourH20 to anyone who was interested in viewing the Cape Fear River and surrouding area. We had a wonderful experience on a sunset cruise that we booked. Captain Jim was professional, courteous, and knowledgable, and above all, he was a great guide. He arrived to pick us up at our canal dock right on schedule and proceeded with our tour along the Intra Coastal Waterway and then on the river to Shallotte. He shared a lot of local knowledge during our time together, including his ability to identify many different types of wildlife we encountered during our excursion. After the tour concluded our entire group was raving about it and agreed that Captain Jim was an essential part of the experience that we had. We have frequented Holden Beach for over 10 years. This was our first year renting a boat and captain. Captain Jim A. may not have a patch, pegleg, or parrot...but he is one the best captains ever to grace the strand! We booked a sunset tour and disembarked on time. We traveled east and visited the east end of Holden, Southport, Eagle Island, Oak Island, Battery Island, and were able to shell (low tide) on a sand bar with no one else around. We visited other places as well, but cannot recall as we just were enjoying the beautiful evening. A small adventure presented itself towards the end that was fantastic, even though Captain Jim A. was a little stressed. We would 100% use TourH20 and request Captain Jim A. again and would definitely book it for a longer ride. read more

We booked the Family Fishing trip. It was my son's 24th BD. He's in the Army and it was our 1st time together in 15 months. So much better for us than a long day deep sea Fishing. Our 3 hour tour was at 9am. We met at the Sharky's dock in Ocean Isle.. Our Captain Inman was very knowledgeable of the area and historic homes as we cruised in the very nice 22 ft pontoon boat. It was very relaxing and enjoyable for all 4 of us. Although we missed out on the huge fish, we caught lots and lots of croaker and white fish. It was nice to have him keep our hooks bated. We were able to see the beautiful nature and as a bonus Lots of Dolphin! The trip totally exceeded our expectations. Thank you Captain Inman for making our reunion special! read more

We scheduled our pontoon tour for 10 a.m. We arrived a few minutes early and saw the pontoon coming to the dock. As we moved towards the boat we were met with a smiling face . Captain Jim. He made our tour of the intercoastal waterway so much fun. He is very pleasant and knows the area well enough to provide a lot of info we enjoyed hearing. When we saw the dolphin we were thrilled. Captain Jim allowed us the time to enjoy the dolphin and get some great photos. The bald eagle was amazing to see, and again he allowed time for us to observe. Along the way he pointed out several places of interest and a great restaurant where we had dinner that evening! I would highly recommend a tour with TourH2O and of course Captain Jim. read more

The Fierro family loved the boatride and tour that captain Inman gave us. His knowledge on all of the wildlife was great and his stories about the area were very interesting and kept us engaged. We got up close to Pelicans, Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Blue Herons, and saw an Osprey fly right by with a fish in its mouth! He explained the tale of Calabash the cat and Napoleon, the famous kindred spirit mailbox, the many ship wrecks that have occurred along the inter coastal, and much more. We even got to see a flock of roseate spoonbill birds, which was Inman's first sighting all year, and possibly will be his only! Thanks so much again Inman, this tour meant so much to our family. We loved this boat tour!! We come to Holden Beach every year and have never taken any kind of boat tour around the island. These guys were fabulous! Very friendly and knowledgeable! We took a sunset tour on a pontoon with our family of five and our friends who also had 5. There were 5 teenagers, 1 grandma and 2 couples and everyone enjoyed it! We saw dolphins, they were swimming right in front of the boat. The captain was very patient and let us watch them for several minutes. We saw all kinds of birds! We saw the most beautiful sunset! It was a 2 hour tour but he took his time and even gave us a discount! We learned a lot about Holden Beach, Oak Island and Southport. It was so much fun! read more

A ladies group of 4 did the nature and wildlife cruise with Captain Jim. We Had originally booked the sunset cruise but d/t weather, we changed it just to be safe (so glad we did because it rained the entire time we were supposed to go.) captain Jim was in contact with us and checked the weather and gave us options, which was great! We saw lots of dolphins, birds, fish jumping and even a horseshoe crab! We were able to learn a lot about the area and we were able to get out on an island to take in the views and went to "the notebook place" which had a mailbox to read and to write our thoughts. Great morning spent on the water with my children. We came to OIB for a getaway this winter to decompress and relax and wanted to take a boat out. It was just myself, our dog and my four rambunctious boys and we had a lovely time. Captain was informational about the local eco system and really engaged my young children. He let them all have a "turn" at the wheel and I week later each one is still talking about how much fun it was driving the boat! Our family was at Holden Beach the week of July 16th to July 23rd. It was our first trip to Holden Beach. (We loved it) on Thursday the 21st we decided to take a 3 hour boat tour that a gentleman from the island told us about. We called Tour H2O and booked it. Very nice customer service! great pontoon boats. great dock location (Sharky's is delicious. try the kahuna chicken sandwich.) Capt. Joe has a long history with this area and was a wealth of knowledge about the local geography, history, engineering, ecosystem, and businesses. With the benefit of a crystal clear sky and a calm ocean, he was able to take us out on the ocean where we're were able to view several pods of dolphin due to his expertise and keen eye. we returned to dock via the intracoastal water way and learned a lot about other businesses we intend to explore later. Inman is the BEST!! I've done this cruise twice, now and Inman knows this area inside and out. I'm a local from Holden beach and I like that they can pick me and my guests up at our neighborhood pier. Inman was early and waiting for us as expected. We did the sunset cruise. We saw dolphins, many, many types of birds and because it was at low tide, we were able to see one of the many boat wrecks that are here in the area. It was fun for my out of town guests to be able to get a chance to see this area from the water perspective. I highly recommend this company for touring as well as Captain Inman. read more

We have been coming to Holden's beach for over 10 years but had no idea how beautiful the intercostal waterway and Lockwood river are until we toured nature with JT/Uber H20. JT was great and the boat was perfect. He has good local knowledge and tailored the tour to help us photograph local wildlife. JT took us down Lockwood folly river. It's absolutely beautiful. We saw lots of cool birds, an eagles nest, and looked for otters. Lots of cool houses too. I highly recommend. Our entire family and friends loved it, super relaxing.
