Searched the web for Holden Beach Jet Ski and up came Holden Beach Water Sports. The web site was…read moreinformative and even had a way to request by email a discount off the regular rate. The phone service was pleasant and quick. I called at 215pm during 4th of July week and asked if they had a jet ski available at 3pm and they had all but one of their jets out on the water. I only needed one for my wife and I. I showed up at 3pm under the bridge next to the Holden Beach Marina at the picnic tables area and went up to their window. An attractive young lady greeted my wife and I. She had us fill out the 1 page info sheet and 2 page instructional sheet. A few minutes later we were handed life jackets and were receiving clear operating and safety instructions on the dock. The jet ski was brand new and very nice. There was a dry glove compartment for my phone and wallet etc. but they gave me a free ziploc bag for good measure. My wife and I had a blast. We jetted over to our dock after a nice ride and I gave my daughter a quick little spin to see if she would like it the next time we rent one. She loved it. It IS really exciting. My wife and I actually got up to 54 mph when we got a clear stretch with no other boats around. The seats were very large and could have seated all three of us. The dead stop acceleration is unbelievably quick, lean forward and hang on! The steering responsiveness is very tight. It's easy to operate. You just have to remember there are no brakes! An attendant assisted us when returning to the dock and they even kept safe our shoes, keys, etc. for us while we were having fun on the water. The 1 hour went by like it was only 15 minutes but it was definitely worth the cost. Time flies when you're having that much fun. We will definitely rent from Holden Beach Water Sports again. Great fun and friendly service!

The weather that morning was beautiful and sunny and the water was calm and glistening. My son and I have rented jet skis at many beaches to we were ready to go. The allowed area on the intercostal was 5 miles long so you could go all out (max 50 mph) and feel thrilled or go as slow as you wanted. The area does take a 90 degree under the Snow's Cut Bridge, so you do get some variety of the sites. We felt safe and the employee was out on his jet ski the entire time keeping an eye on everyone. This was one of the highlights of this year's vacation at Kure Beach/Carolina Beach. Would recommend to anyone with an interest in riding a jet ski.

We were in the right place (inside Carolina Beach State Park, at a tent near marina) and early. We confirmed with other workers within the park that this was the correct location for Wilmington Jet Ski Rentals. There's no one at the tent. About 10 minutes after we should have been on the jet ski, and after calling the company multiple times without any response, we get a vague text about how there's been some kind of "issue". They told us someone would be there in about 10-15 min so we said okay and waited....BUT THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! After waiting that extra time, we got another text that asked us if we wanted a full refund or to come back hours later to try again?!? Still no transparency about what the issue was. Did someone die?!? Is a jet ski on the bottom of the ocean?!? Did the workers pass out drunk? Wtf? We still don't know! We did get our refund but yikes, terrible customer service and no transparency. Just tell me some dude OD'd in his pickup truck or crashed a jet ski into a bridge and broke his femur...SOMETHING! We would have come back later or the next day if we had any confidence we would actually get on the jet ski! Never this company again. Bad look for the state park, too.

We always ask for our guide, Chris, as he is super friendly and knowledgeable. I always feel safe as he looks out for the group, but there is plenty of time to zoom around on your own, too. My favorite part last year was coming up on a pod of dolphins near a shrimp boat. There had to be at least 15 of them (even a baby)! They were close enough you could have touched them.
